Match observations:

Tonight, perhaps more than any other, set the scene for the Big Fight.
Even the opening nonsense with the Middle-Aged Outlaws set a scene, as Hunk
Higgins challenged Stormy Weathers, the manager of the Oriental Express, to a
match at the Big Fight, with an added stipulation: if Stormy wins, he gets to
kiss Bretta "The Barmaid" Biffcork.
After that announcement, the impossible happened: The Middle-Aged
Outlaws defeated the Wrecking Crew, albeit by disqualification, when Stormy
Weathers tripped Hunk Higgins during the match. The Wrecking Crew are very
unhappy, and understandably so; Stormy Weathers cost them what would ordinarily
have been an easy victory. There will probably be consequences for that in the
coming months.
The Inquisition made no secret about their plans for Troy Black, Melissa
DelArmeggio, and Liberation X, with Gabriel Black going so far as to set up a
ladder match against Liberation X member Jeff Wright as tonight's main event,
and David Wright Hubbard challenging everybody from Rob Solomon to Johnny
Smiles to Melissa DelArmeggio. Later on, they would reveal that they were
indeed all business.
Tim Bell, in a rematch from last week, defeated Dean Sanders to win
fifty thousand dollars. Unfortunately, the Golden Society wasn't happy with
this loss, and decided to make Tim Bell one of the first of many people to be
attacked and injured during tonight's show. Lance Errington and Dean Sanders
attacked Tim Bell with the metal suitcase containing the money, and he was
carried away on a stretcher.
This scene would be repeated later when, after Neytron DelArmeggio, the
newest member of the Golden Society, helped Lance Errington defeat Devaccio
Pola, the two of them and Dean Sanders hospitalized Devaccio Pola with a three-
man Spike Piledriver. Referee James Applebee gamely tried to stop them, but was
overpowered and also sent to the hospital after a Piledriver by Neytron
DelArmeggio.
David Wright Hubbard was a busy man this week, defeating Rob Solomon in
a non-title match, then returning to lay out Melissa DelArmeggio and Johnny
Smiles in the middle of a grueling Intercontinental Title match that brought
out the best in two otherwise mediocre performers. After attacking them, he
proceeded to torture Melissa until she was finally saved by the H.A.R.P. Squad,
then challenge Troy Black to a match at the Big Fight.
Richard Tobian fought a good, competitive match against the Torturer,
but was unable to win. He has also declared himself an enemy of the
Inquisition, and to that end he challenged Bass Rogers to a rematch at the Big
Fight, a rematch from their last match at Wrestlewar, without the VCW
Television Title on the line, of course. Declaring yourself to be an enemy of
the Inquisition isn't usually very wise, though...
The main event, the ladder match, saw Jeff Wright come within inches of
being the VCW World Champion several times. There were multiple high spots, and
both men took more than a few nasty falls when the ladder was knocked out from
under them, sometimes while they were up quite high on it. However, Gabriel
Black will most likely go into the Big Fight still holding the VCW World Title,
and the main event will still pit him against Falcon in a ladder match.
