Match observations:
On the last installment of Monday Night Wrestling before the Big Fight,
plenty of VCW wrestlers were looking to get in one more blow in an unresolved
conflict before heading to the Big Fight. Plenty of changes were made that are
likely to affect the future of VCW.
James Lockman, the VCW Commissioner, took decisive action in banning
attacks on referees, imposing a thirty-day suspension as a penalty for these
attacks. That didn't stop Dean Sanders from knocking out not one, but TWO
referees with a pair of brass knuckles after becoming frustrated at a Brawl For
All loss to referee James Applebee... who, it should be mentioned, was a
prominent boxer before his referee career. It is a credit to his dedication to
his career that VCW referee Rick Douglas was able to continue his job later in
the evening after being attacked by Dean Sanders.
The One Warrior Nation put a decisive end to the winning streak of the
Middle-Aged Outlaws, as Stormy Weathers paid a reportedly massive amount of
money to bring them to VCW in an attempt to take the Middle-Aged Outlaws down a
peg or two before facing Hunk Higgins at the Big Fight. Fortunately, it isn't
likely that we'll be seeing the One Warrior Nation again anytime soon.
A noticable rivalry is forming between Troy Black and Liberation X,
specifically over Troy's lack of assistance to Melissa DelArmeggio last week.
While Troy explained his reasoning tonight, it wasn't enough for Liberation X,
who still strongly disagreed with his actions. That, it seemed, was the basis
for tonight's main event match between Troy Black and Falcon.
Troy Black isn't the only enemy that Liberation X has made... Owen
Addison did not take kindly to some of their comments regarding him and the
Ontario Color Show, and attacked the Annihilators and the Immortals with a
chair, then proceeded to insult Liberation X. Paul Canyon came out, to try to
calm his partner down and soothe the crowd's growing hatred of the Ontario
Color Show... neither of these attempts seemed very successful. Since the
Immortals did win the match by disqualification, however, they will be in a
three-way match for the VCW World Tag Team Titles at the Big Fight.
Once again, Richard Tobian was defeated by the Torturer, who craftily
used the two-out-of-three falls stipulation of the match to his advantage by
laying Richard Tobian out with a blow from his axe handle, voluntarily throwing
the first fall to a disqualification loss in order to soften Richard Tobian up
for the next two. His plan worked like a charm, as he was able to defeat
Richard Tobian for the next two falls and win the match.
Lance Errington defeated Johnny Smiles today, but it was only a
disqualification victory, due to the interference of Johnny's new girlfriend,
Virginia, in the match. Afterwards, fans were treated to the sight of Lady
Erica Whitmore running away from Virginia in only her bra and panties when
Virginia ripped her evening gown off as punishment for a chairshot delivered to
the head of Johnny Smiles.
The Troy Black vs. Falcon match was something of a disappointment, as
David Wright Hubbard took advantage of the match as an opportunity to set up an
attack on both men, which led to an Inquisition vs. Liberation X brawl. Troy
Black met his brother, Gabriel Black, in the aisle leading to the ring, but no
blows were exchanged... Troy Black ripped the golden cross from around his
brother's neck and dropped it to the ground, after which Gabriel Black merely
smiled and left without fighting. Is this an indication of an alliance between
Troy and Gabriel Black? Or was Gabriel merely afraid to fight his brother? It's
uncertain, but Gabriel Black needs to concern himself with Falcon first, in the
ladder match coming up at the Big Fight.
