Match observations:
This show was packed, leading into Random Casualties this Sunday, and
though some matches were questionable, the show overall was a success. It had a
little of everything: good wrestling, interesting interviews, violence,
nudity, and a special guest to VCW in the form of Abdullah the Butcher.
The evening began strangely when Haigeikobai somehow picked up a
surprise win in an eight-man battle royal for a shot at Lance Errington's
Intercontinental Title. Stormy Weathers was so disgusted by the other two
Oriental Express members, who were quickly eliminated by the odds-on-favorite
to win the match, Rex Richards (believe it or not, he was the most high-profile
wrestler in the ring), that he fired them on the spot and ordered Haigeikobai
to attack them. The attack wasn't successful, nor was Haigeikobai's attempt to
win the Intercontinental Title later in the show... though Lance Errington
actually managed to carry his worthless carcass to a decent, if short, match.
After a somewhat short match between Virginia and Tuxedo, DeJohnnyration
X came to the ring, and soon came to the conclusion that they needed to have a
DeJohnnyration X split. They called out the Golden Society, and words were
exchanged between the two factions before a brawl broke out and Lady Erica
Whitmore was chosen to initiate the D-J-X split, in a moment that should
certainly make the "VCW: Too Hot For TV" video, when it comes out. The Golden
Society was so infuriated and driven to revenge by this that they not only
defeated DeJohnnyration X in a tag team match later in the show, but they also
went on to give them a severe beating after the match.
The Immortals certainly don't appear to be training very intensely for
their match against the Bull Moose Party at Random Casualties; they appear to
be neglecting their training in favor of partying. They suffered from that
today, when Robert Danson fell to Brian Rivera of the Annihilators in a tag
team triangle match, and may pay for it again at Random Casualties... it
wouldn't be the first time they've underestimated the Bull Moose Party and paid
the price.
In spite of disagreement between Melissa DelArmeggio and Falcon about
Troy Black's loyalty, Liberation X certainly appeared to be on top of their
game tonight; in addition to the Annihilators' victory in the triangle match,
Falcon destroyed Bass Rogers in three minutes. Additionally, in a special dark
match after the show went off the air, Falcon again rose to the occasion,
earning a pinfall victory for the team of Liberation X and Troy Black over the
Torturer with his Superkick... though Jeff Wright sustained a minor elbow
injury in that match, so it couldn't be considered an absolute victory for
Liberation X. His spot in the Random Casualties tournament will be given to a
VCW wrestler who is not already booked to wrestle there.
David Wright Hubbard showed a few clips of his brutal training matches
with Abdullah the Butcher, then called out his trainer for a one-on-one match
tonight. After a rather brutal match, David Wright Hubbard finally put away his
trainer, and picked up a huge burst of momentum for his Random Casualties match
against Melissa DelArmeggio.
Troy Black showed the world which side he was on tonight... he laid into
his brother and the Torturer with a vengance. Unfortunately for Troy and
Melissa, the Torturer's power advantage and Gabriel Black's determination and
amazing technical skills led to a victory for the Inquisition... but with the
hatchet firmly buried between Falcon and Troy Black for Random Casualties, one
has to wonder which team truly left with the advantage.
The card of the next edition of VCW Monday Night Wrestling will be
booked by the winner of the Random Casualties tournament, so it's a mystery for
now. Who knows what could happen when a wrestler becomes a booker and the
inmates run the asylum!? Tune in next week to find out!!
