Match observations:
More surprises ran through VCW tonight, as the lineup for Blood and
Thunder becomes more and more clear. Titles changed hands, challenges were
made, and an unlikely alliance united against common enemies at the end of the
show. Everyone in VCW seems determined to come out of Blood and Thunder a
winner, and for good reason... this event could shape the future careers of
many of VCW's wrestlers.
The VCW World Tag Team Titles continue to jump around. This week, they
fell into the hands of "Dirty" Dick Slater and Bunkhouse Buck, making them the
first and only team to have held both the WCW and VCW World Tag Team Titles.
Stormy Weathers must be happy about this, as well as the fact that he managed
to get the upper hand over Melissa DelArmeggio. Not only did he relieve her of
her evening gown to cost her a match against the lowly Road Girl, but he also
got her to agree hastily that in order to free herself from her contractual
obligations to him, at Blood and Thunder she will have to defeat Buck, Slater,
Haigeikobai, and Stormy himself, or "show him a good time" after Blood and
Thunder. Considering that Melissa was on the verge of quitting anyway, he
really has nothing to lose by this agreement.
Marylin Silvera and Jessica Judd seem to have fallen into a little
dispute over who is the greatest superstar in the entertainment business.
Tonight, Crimson helped settle the argument in Jessica's favor by giving
Marylin Silvera the Chokeslam right before his match with Jessica, handing her
the victory on a silver platter. Unfortunately for them, so far in VCW, messing
with Marylin Silvera has proved to be a recipe for a lot of embarrassment and
trouble later on.
Falcon has evened the score in the Moy Lazzario Best-of-Five Gimmick
Match Invitational by knocking Moy Lazzario out in the Brawl For All. Moy
Lazzario, priding himself on being a technical wrestler with some high-flying
skills, found out to his dismay that he has pretty much no idea what to do in a
fistfight, and in spite of getting several takedowns, managed to get the living
hell beaten out of him by Falcon, who definitely appears to have the advantage
in brawling. Heading into next week's First Blood Match, each man has one
victory over the other.
Aside from an unfair loss to Lance Errington by Jacob Idol due to the
Torturer's interference, the Technicians pretty much dominated their opposition
tonight. Not only did the Ontario Color Show settle a long dispute against the
Immortals, but Tim Bell defeated Neytron DelArmeggio, furthering the intense
dislike between the Golden Society and the Technicians. These two factions will
probably meet in some form or another at Blood and Thunder.
Speaking of Neytron DelArmeggio, his latest attempts to do everything
possible to mess with Troy Black show a tremendous amount of foolhardy courage
that might be seen as stupidity. After coming up short against Tim Bell
tonight, it's unclear how Neytron intends to defeat Troy Black, who is
definitely his biggest major challenge to date. Aside from the usual insults,
he came back to attack Troy during the Torturer's Intercontinental Title
rematch, laying him out with a series of Piledrivers onto a steel chair. Falcon
came to the rescue, but Jacob Idol had to rescue them both when the Torturer
recovered and laid them out.
Next week's show will feature many top VCW stars, as well as the Falcon
versus Moy Lazzario First Blood Match. DeJohnnyration X, the Annihilators,
Devaccio Pola, and David Wright Hubbard will all be there, as well as both
participants in the Blood and Thunder main event, Gabriel Black and Richard
Tobian. Will the two of them even be able to coexist in the same building after
what's been taking place recently? Watch next week's show, only two weeks away
from Blood and Thunder, and don't miss a minute of Violent Championship
Wrestling!!
