Match observations:
No-shows plagued the overall quality of the show, as "The Artist"
Neytron DelArmeggio missed the show, requiring the much less talented Rex
Richards to take his place. Additionally, Owen Addison of the Ontario Color
Show had to substitute for Bullwinkle of the Bull Moose Party, who came up
missing. While one would think that having one-half of the VCW World Tag Team
Champions as his partner would help Dreadnought to win the match, it didn't
happen that way, as the two were unable to work well together, and Dreadnought
was defeated by the Inquisition's Manhunters.
The Inquisition ran roughshod over the competition tonight, with Bass
Rogers, the Manhunters, David Wright Hubbard, and even the untalented Rex
Richards winning their matches, as Gabriel Black led a posse to seek revenge on
Melissa DelArmeggio. They were unable to gain it decisively, but two matches
have been signed favoring them: Melissa DelArmeggio will meet Moy Lazzario in
a Towel Match next week, while Troy Black will meet the Torturer at Wrestlewar
in an Iron Cage Axe Handle Death Match.
Rob Solomon met the Super Giant Ninja as well, in an undercard match
that is significant because both men use the Katana Legdrop as their finishing
move. The Ninja was much bigger, but Rob Solomon somehow managed to cut him
down to size and score a victory without much difficulty, and amazingly without
misuse of the hockey stick that he has been bringing to the ring recently.
Lance Errington has a lot to be unhappy about... he lost to Falcon in
their rematch, effectively dropping from World Title contention, in spite of
an impressive show of bravado. Lady Erica Whitmore proved to be more than a
pretty decoration in Lance Errington's corner tonight, when she surprised
everybody, including Falcon and Lance Errington, by jumping into the ring and
levelling Falcon with a chair as he was preparing to put Lance Errington away.
But aside from the no-shows and the poor wrestling of Rex Richards and
Melissa DelArmeggio, VCW is alive and brimming over with tension. The Torturer
will meet Troy Black at Wrestlewar, but where does that leave Gabriel Black,
the leader of the Inquisition, and Troy's major rival? Who will emerge to
challenge David Wright Hubbard and the Ontario Color Show for their titles? For
that matter, who will face VCW World Champion Falcon in the main event of
Wrestlewar?
