Match observations:

Thousands upon thousands of fans watched in the arena or on pay-per-view
tonight as VCW spontaneously combusted a spectacular pay-per-view event. Except
for the fact that nobody actually died a messy death by bursting into flames,
Spontaneous Combustion definitely lived up to its name. The crowd was,
figurately speaking, on fire, and many of VCW's most intense feuds were hotter
than ever before.
Of course, that's not to say that there weren't some dull moments here
and there, especially in the Waste-Of-Time. Haigeikobai's mystery opponent was
possibly one of the more anticlimactic choices available, Jim "The Anvil"
Neidhart. He beat Haigeikobai, of course... but his appearance certainly wasn't
among the more thrilling or exciting moments of tonight's show. Is there anyone
in VCW who HASN'T beat Haigeikobai yet?
Once the show got started for real, though, things really took off. The
opening match, where Johnny Smiles and Virginia faced the Immortals, showcased
a very interesting contrast in the technical wrestling and teamwork of the
Immortals with the haphazard brawling and basic wrestling of DeJohnnyration
X... but the real story is what happened after the match. Following the match,
the Immortals surprised everybody by revealing themselves as new members of
DeJohnnyration X!! This makes DeJohnnyration X perhaps stronger than it's ever
been, and it definitely makes the Immortals more popular than they've ever
been as well.
Rob Solomon and Devaccio Pola put aside their friendship tonight, and
fought in a fast-paced, high-flying brawl that was among the best matches of
the night. Each man obviously knew his opponent's style quite well, and they
wrestled a breathtakingly close match until Devaccio Pola finally pulled out a
victory with his Guillotine Kick. He retains the VCW Television Title, and is
expected to defend it again tomorrow night on VCW Monday Night Wrestling.
Speaking of title defenses, Gabriel Black has one to fulfill in the
coming weeks, as the Technicians defeated the Inquisition tonight to earn a
prized shot at the VCW World Title for one of their members. One has to think
that with all of the talk he's been making about Gabriel Black, it will be Owen
Addison stepping up for the challenge, and there's no doubt he'll be ready to
give Gabriel Black a good fight.
After taking two clean pinfall losses to the Manhunters in recent weeks,
the Wrecking Crew redeemed themselves tonight by scoring a big victory when it
counted, in defense of the VCW World Tag Team Titles. The third time was the
charm, it seems, and history repeated itself from Blood and Thunder as the
former VCW World Tag Team Champions, the Manhunters, went down decisively in
defeat to the Wrecking Crew tonight.
For all his talk about technical wrestling skill and superiority,
Neytron DelArmeggio didn't fare well at all against Crimson tonight. While his
obviously superior skill kept him in the match for a while, he was no match for
Crimson's awesome power, and was put away with the Chokeslam in a mere six and
a half minutes. That definitely has to be a disappointing ending for Neytron
after all his talk, but it's also definitely a big victory for Crimson.
Other members of the Golden Society fared much better, however, as Dean
Sanders and Lance Errington scored what has to be considered at least a minor
upset victory over Gabriel Black and the Torturer. They were able to hold their
own against the bottomless wrestling arsenal and killer instinct of Gabriel
Black and the overwhelming size and power advantage of the Torturer, until
finally Lance Errington found his chance by outwrestling the Torturer and
picking up the win with a rolling reverse cradle. This means that Lance
Errington will get a shot at Gabriel Black's VCW World Title at the next VCW
pay-per-view event, Deck the Halls, on December twenty-six.
The Inquisition wasn't done for the night yet, however. While some
people were prepared to count Falcon lucky if he even survived this match with
David Wright Hubbard, he not only survived, but with a little help from the
Torturer and Rebecca Black, he broke the Inquisition's losing streak tonight by
actually defying the odds and beating David Wright Hubbard in the middle of the
ring, which even Gabriel Black failed to do at the last pay-per-view, Horror
Show. It wasn't a clean victory by any means, but any victory over David Wright
Hubbard these days is a rare thing. Needless to say, David Wright Hubbard is
ready to go into a homicidal rage after what happened in this match. It's
doubtful that Falcon has seen the last of him by any means.
But the highlight of the show was definitely the main event, where Troy
Black and Richard Tobian fought for the opportunity to face the VCW World
Champion at Wrestlewar II. Despite a pre-match handshake initiated by Richard
Tobian, things quickly got ugly as Richard Tobian attacked Troy Black's legs
unmercifully. But despite Richard Tobian's best efforts, Troy Black fought off
all of Richard Tobian's attempts to take out his legs. Richard Tobian tried
once more to win the match with the Fisherman Suplex, but Troy Black kicked out
of it with authority, then put Richard Tobian away in fairly short order after
that. No questions now... Troy Black is going to the main event of Wrestlewar
despite an impressive showing from Richard Tobian.
Wow. Going into tomorrow night's show, it looks like big things are
waiting to happen. How will Richard Tobian react to losing his last possible
chance at getting a VCW World Title shot in a long time? What kind of mayhem
does David Wright Hubbard have in store for the Torturer and Falcon after
tonight's match? And how will Gabriel Black handle the rising pressure of
challengers like Lance Errington and Owen Addison making bids for his title,
with his brother Troy Black waiting in the future at Wrestlewar should he
retain the title? We expect to find clues or answers to all of these questions
at tomorrow's show. We also expect to see many of VCW's top wrestlers present
and in action, including Devaccio Pola, the Wrecking Crew, the Torturer, and
David Wright Hubbard. Make sure you join us tommorow night for all the great
action when VCW brings us the next episode of VCW Monday Night Wrestling!!
