Match observations:

In order to right the terrible, terrible wrong of VCW's pre-emption by
the upcoming holiday special, Genghis Khan's Christmas Adventure, tonight VCW
put on an extra bonus show for die-hard VCW fans. Since it was held on
Wednesday, in the Key Arena in Washington, it was appropriately called This
Wednesday In Washington, and it featured some of the most competitive, intense
action we've seen in VCW... including the first VCW title change in over three
months.
Every silver lining has a cloud... so unfortunately, to open the show,
we were treated to a match where the Middle-Aged Outlaws took on Russel "The
Muscle" Taylor and the Super Giant Ninja. This intense rivalry between these
two teams seems to be building by the day... the only problem is that nobody
cares. Oh, well, this gave fans a few extra minutes to go to the concession
stands or bathroom, I guess.
It looks like the Wrecking Crew might be slipping a little bit in terms
of their seeming invincibility. Not only did they lose twice to the Manhunters
in clean matches last month, but tonight, in a six-man tag team match with Rob
Solomon against the Golden Society, they lost once again. This puts the Golden
Society in a position to make a case for deserving a shot at the VCW World Tag
Team Titles, but it also raises a question: Are the Wrecking Crew just having
bad luck recently, or are they perhaps losing their edge?
Thankfully, Nicole is once again safe from the clutches of Hell's
Bikers, who kidnapped her last Monday after attacking the Immortals. The
Immortals' fellow members of DeJohnnyration X, Johnny Smiles and Virginia, came
to the rescue, and took on Hell's Bikers tonight. Unfortunately, they ended up
laid out too as a result of Hell's Bikers attacking them with weapons, but
thankfully Virginia recovered, thwarted Jack Norman's ill-conceived attempt to
kidnap HER, and prevented any further damage from being caused by Hell's
Bikers.
We have a new VCW Television Champion. Neytron DelArmeggio defeated the
injured Devaccio Pola tonight, using the wrestling ability that he has so often
bragged about in recent weeks to pick up a victory. Unfortunately, after the
match was over, Neytron was just getting started. As if there was any doubt
that his tirade against hardcore wrestling was hypocritical gibberish, he
attacked Devaccio Pola with a steel plate, after removing his neckbrace. To
finish him off, Neytron gave him two Piledrivers on the steel plate, and a
third one through the table. Well, even if he is a hypocritical, vindicative
liar, Neytron DelArmeggio is our new VCW Television Champion.
Crimson wrestled Richard Tobian tonight... and shocked the world by
squashing him in four minutes. DAMN. After the match, Richard Tobian implied
that he may have thrown the match, though whether that's the truth or just an
attempt to save face isn't clear. What is clear is that Richard Tobian isn't
willing to wait for a shot at the VCW World Title. He made it clear tonight
that he wants a shot at Gabriel Black at the soonest opportunity, and that
he'll do virtually anything to get one. However, it seems like threatening your
boss (especially when he also happens to be the head of the VCW Championship
Committee) isn't the best way to advance your career.
Troy Black wasn't kidding when he agreed to take on ANY challenge from
the Inquisition tonight; he fought off FOUR members of the Inquisition tonight,
including special referee Falcon, to retain his VCW Intercontinental Title.
Unfortunately, due to blatant bias by Falcon, the acting referee, he was unable
to get the official win for their match tonight, but this still has to be
considered a victory for Troy Black. Any time you come out of a four-on-one
attack from the Inquisition without taking a severe beating, you should count
yourself a winner.
That wasn't all the mischief Falcon had planned for the night, though.
Lady Erica Whitmore wasn't really a match for Rebecca Black as far as wrestling
ability is concerned, and when Rebecca laid her out and tagged in Falcon, the
match was all over. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning of the plans of
Falcon and Rebecca Black. They proceeded to dispose of Lance Errington by
beating him with a chair, then degraded and abused Lady Erica Whitmore in every
way they could think of. Lance Errington tried to recover and stop them, but he
didn't have much success... until Troy Black finally came to the ring. Perhaps
as revenge for the handicap match earlier tonight, or perhaps to save Lance and
Erica despite what they've done to him in the past, Troy Black helped Lance
Errington for fight off Falcon and Rebecca, finally putting a stop to their
sadistic assault on Erica.
That wasn't all of the brutality that the Inquisition had planned for
tonight by a long shot. David Wright Hubbard tried to call out the Torturer for
a match, but the Torturer would have none of it; he wanted to fight David
Wright Hubbard on his own terms. And he did; he ambushed David Wright Hubbard
in the backstage area, brought him to the ring, and started pounding away at
him. The resulting slugfest continued for eight minutes, until the Torturer
decided to turn the odds in his favor by using the wooden axe handle. That
earned him a disqualification, but by that point, the outcome of the match was
secondary to the fight itself in the minds of both men. The Torturer continued
to pound on David Wright Hubbard, until finally Crimson came in and made the
save. Bass Rogers tried to turn the tide back to the favor of the Inquisition,
but that didn't work, and both Inquisition members retreated, as David Wright
Hubbard and Crimson remained in the ring, with a challenge extended to the two
Inquisition members for a tag team match next Monday night.
But the carnage still wasn't over yet. Against the advice of his friends
and even Gabriel Black, Owen Addison came to the ring for their match. After an
initial burst of offense from Owen Addison, Gabriel Black immediately turned
the tide, and started working on Owen Addison's shoulder and arm, previously
injured in the beating he took from the Inquisition last Monday night. For his
part, Owen Addison focused on Gabriel Black's neck, evidently trying to soften
him up for the Tombstone, but the closest he managed to get was a near fall
from a backdrop driver. Shortly after that, Gabriel Black locked on an armbar
submission, and Owen Addison couldn't escape; he passed out in the ring,
leaving Gabriel Black the winner. Tattoo was the referee assigned for this
match, and he wasn't about to tolerate an Inquisition beating, but it didn't
matter; the damage was done. Owen Addison comes away from this match with a
rotator cuff injury thanks to Gabriel Black, and as a result has been sidelined
for QUITE a long time. Our best wishes for a speedy recovery are with Owen
Addison.
On a lighter note, next Monday will be business as usual, when VCW
presents another edition of VCW Monday Night Wrestling. This coming Monday's
show should be LOADED, too... VCW Television Champion Neytron DelArmeggio, VCW
Intercontinental Champion Troy Black, and VCW World Champion Gabriel Black will
all be present and in active competition, as will Falcon, the Torturer, and
many more of VCW's top wrestling stars. Don't miss the action-packed show when
VCW presents VCW Monday Night Wrestling, coming up in a mere five days!!
