Match observations:
Spontaneous Combustion is almost upon us. With under two weeks to go,
the tension in the alliances and rivalries in VCW is being wound tighter and
tighter, and it's only a matter of time before all hell breaks loose. Everybody
wants a shot at the VCW World Title held by Gabriel Black, and a lot of VCW's
top feuds are about who will get the next shot at the VCW World Title.
It was a shot at the VCW World Title that was the reason for the
meetings between members of the Technicians and the Inquisition tonight. If the
Technicians won two out of three matches tonight, the Inquisition was supposed
to grant one of them a shot at Gabriel Black's VCW World Title... but they
reneged on that deal, instead offering the Technicians a chance to earn a title
shot, for real, by defeating the Inquisition in a six-man tag team match at
Spontaneous Combustion. Rather than try to legally force the Inquisition to
stick to their word, Owen Addison accepted the second challenge. That could end
up being a mistake.
Rather than fighting in defense of Gabriel Black's VCW World Title, the
Manhunters are on the attack with frightening success, looking to reclaim the
VCW World Tag Team Titles. After their clean victory over the Wrecking Crew
tonight, nobody can deny that they deserve a shot at regaining the titles; and
they'll get that shot at Spontaneous Combustion. For the Wrecking Crew, the
third try had better be the charm, or the Inquisition's dominance in VCW could
quickly spread beyond the VCW World Title.
Rob Solomon and Devaccio Pola seem to be getting along pretty well for
two short-tempered hardcore wrestlers with a title match coming up between them
at Spontaneous Combustion; they worked well together against Hell's Bikers.
Unfortunately, they didn't do well enough, and VCW Television Champion Devaccio
Pola fell victim to a Chokeslam from Jack Norman, giving the big victory to
Hell's Bikers.
Neytron DelArmeggio's jealousy of Crimson's rapid road to success is
becoming clearer and clearer, but he still failed to solve anything this week
by sending in Chris Champlain to face Crimson in a Baseball Bat on a Pole
Match. Neytron did agree, finally, to face Crimson directly at Spontaneous
Combustion in a one-on-one match. Neytron DelArmeggio has an undeniable
reputation for biting off more than he can chew, but his advantage in sheer
wrestling skill over Crimson is equally undeniable. Can Crimson's brute power
overcome Neytron DelArmeggio's far superior arsenal and knowledge of wrestling
tactics?
Neytron's fellow Golden Society member, Lance Errington, has set his
sights even higher; he's after a shot at Gabriel Black's VCW World Title. After
an impressive win over the Torturer two weeks ago, Lance Errington followed it
up by fulfilling a career-long goal... finally defeating Falcon in the middle
of the ring. He's definitely very close to his goal of earning a shot at
Gabriel Black... but as many who came before him can say from experience,
getting in the ring with Gabriel Black and defeating him in the ring are two
different things.
David Wright Hubbard can attest to that. He came to the ring, assisted
Lance Errington in picking up a victory over Falcon, then proceeded to give
Falcon a beating to rival last week's punishment, using a large branch that he
had broken off of a tree. Rebecca Black tried to stay out of the way, but when
she couldn't help herself and tried to stop David Wright Hubbard, it nearly
costed her. Fortunately for Rebecca, her brother Gabriel Black came to the ring
at that time, and David Wright Hubbard turned his attention elsewhere.
Though Falcon appeared to be nearly dead after taking a horrid beating
from David Wright Hubbard, he recovered nearly fifteen minutes later, just in
time to save Gabriel Black from what appeared to be a certain loss by attacking
David Wright Hubbard, after Gabriel had bumped into the referee when hit with a
massive Flying Cross Bodypress from the top of the cage. Though Falcon's
interference didn't quite give Gabriel Black the match, David Wright Hubbard
was never able to make another big comeback, and ended up falling victim to the
Destiny Hammer and losing the cage match to Gabriel Black. If David Wright
Hubbard didn't already have a good reason to want to annihilate Falcon, he
surely does now... this is the second time that Falcon has arguably caused him
to lose a match for the VCW World Title.
Next week will be the final edition of VCW Monday Night Wrestling before
Spontaneous Combustion, and therefore it will also be the last chance for VCW's
wrestlers to take care of important business before the pay-per-view event
takes place. Joining us next week will be top VCW stars such as Richard Tobian,
Neytron DelArmeggio, DeJohnnyration X, the Annihilators, and many more! So make
sure you tune in next week, and watch all the great action of VCW Monday Night
Wresting!!
