Match observations:
We're counting down the weeks until VCW's pre-emption for Genghis Khan's
Christmas Adventure (boo! boo!) and VCW's Christmas pay-per-view event, Deck
the Halls (hooray!!) with another showing of VCW Monday Night Wrestling, and
what a show it was. VCW showcased the debut of a newcomer from the VCW Power
Plant, held the first-ever Title vs. Title match between Troy Black and Neytron
DelArmeggio, and managed to fit a hardcore bump and partial nudity into the
same ten seconds!
Julian Page, a graduate of the VCW Power Plant, made his debut today,
defeating Haigeikobai in twelve seconds. While it's always good to start your
career off with a win, beating Haigeikobai no longer impresses anybody. After
all, just about everybody in VCW (and the known world) is capable of disposing
of Haigeikobai. Let's see just what he can do in the coming weeks.
DeJohnnyration X threw down a challenge to Hell's Bikers tonight, to
find a partner for a four-on-four match against DeJohnnyration X. While Hell's
Bikers were unable to respond, since they weren't in the arena tonight, it's a
good bet that they'll be able to recruit a fourth tough customer to be their
partner. Their choice of partner could be crucial in the upcoming four-on-four
match; a good partner could make a victory that much easier, while a poor
partner could seriously endanger their chances of beating DeJohnnyration X.
The Annihilators have made it clear that they're not done with Falcon by
a long shot. Jeff Wright challenged him to a match next week, citing the fact
that he pinned Falcon two weeks earlier in a tag team match. In spite of that,
it's hard not to consider Falcon the heavy favorite in that match, especially
considering that Jeff Wright's victory over Falcon was due in part to
interference by David Wright Hubbard. Then again, Jeff Wright has stepped up to
compete on the level of top-caliber wrestlers like Gabriel Black before, so
anything could conceivably happen.
Dean Sanders made it official tonight; he and Chris Champlain are
actively pursuing a match with the Wrecking Crew for the VCW World Tag Team
Titles. While a previous Golden Society combination of Dean Sanders and Neytron
DelArmeggio failed to defeat the Wrecking Crew a few months ago, the addition
of Chris Champlain, who is known for being more experienced in hardcore
brawling than the rest of the Golden Society, could tip the odds in favor of
the Golden Society. Dean Sanders certainly hasn't had any lack of success in
VCW competition lately either. This championship showdown should be
interesting.
Tim Bell was out to gain revenge for his friend, and fellow member of
the Technicians, Owen Addison, when he wrestled Gabriel Black tonight. Though
Tim Bell was on top of his game tonight, Gabriel Black was his usual unbeatable
self tonight, and things didn't look good for Tim Bell... until Owen Addison
came to the ringside area and, shoulder injury notwithstanding, somehow managed
to deliver the Tombstone to Gabriel Black on the concrete floor. Amazingly,
Gabriel Black got up from that in time to reenter the ring, then kicked out of
a pin attempt from Tim Bell. But after Tim Bell hit Gabriel Black with the Top-
Rope Frankensteiner, there didn't seem to be any way in hell Gabriel Black
could get out of THAT... at least, without interference from Rebecca Black, who
ended the match with a chairshot in plain view of the referee. Not that it
mattered, save to preserve Gabriel Black's claim to never losing a match by
pinfall or submission; this was a non-title match.
Well over a half-ton of human bulk was in the ring later on, when David
Wright Hubbard and Crimson teamed up to take on Bass Rogers and the Torturer.
When David Wright Hubbard is, bulk-wise, the smallest man in the match, that
says something. This brawl wasn't pretty, as everyone involved except for David
Wright Hubbard lacked any pretense of technical wrestling ability. Finally,
David Wright Hubbard put away Bass Rogers with the Flying Cross Bodypress, in
spite of his increasing use of high-impact power moves. It's just as well; it's
hard to imagine anyone, even David Wright Hubbard, executing a top-rope power
bomb on Bass Rogers.
Troy Black was challenged to VCW's first ever Title vs. Title match by
Neytron DelArmeggio tonight. This wasn't their first meeting by any means; Troy
Black successfully retained the VCW Intercontinental Title against Neytron at
Blood and Thunder, then went on to defeat Neytron again in the semi-finals of
the Survival of the Fittest tournament a month later. Tonight's outcome looked
to be no different, as Troy Black seemed well on his way to putting away
Neytron DelArmeggio and not only retaining the VCW Intercontinental Title, but
winning the VCW Television Title, when Dean Sanders entered the ring for a
blatant attack on Troy Black. The two Golden Society members double-teamed Troy
Black, preparing to give him a top-rope Piledriver through a table like they
did to Devaccio Pola just last Wednesday, but Lance Errington came to the
rescue, stopping the Golden Society attack on Troy Black, much to the
disappointment of his fellow Golden Society members.
Troy Black returned the favor later, after Lance Errington had defeated
Falcon in a Submission Cage Match that the two had agreed upon earlier. Lance
Errington refused to release the Scorpion Deathlock after winning the match,
and he could hardly be disqualified, considering that any Submission Match or
Cage Match is a no-disqualification match by nature anyway. Rebecca Black tried
to climb the cage and intervene on Falcon's behalf, but Lady Erica Whitmore ran
out, came from behind Rebecca. At first Erica only managed to pull down
Rebecca's pants, but on a second try Erica pulled Rebecca off the cage, sending
her crashing through the Swahili announcers' table. The crowd was happy with
both results.
But Erica couldn't stop Gabriel Black, who came to the ring next with a
pair of bolt-cutters, then used them to break into the cage and attack Lance
Errington. It seemed as though Lance Errington would end up the victim of a
two-on-one Inquisition beating, but Troy Black came in and decisively turned
the course of that situation around, and it was Falcon and Gabriel Black who
ended up taking a beating as the show ended.
Next week's show, a little under three weeks away from Deck the Halls,
and a mere two weeks from that stupid Christmas special, will feature many
prominent VCW stars such as Richard Tobian, Chris Champlain, and the VCW World
Tag Team Champions, the Wrecking Crew, in action. There is also an open
challenge from Jeff Wright to Falcon on the table, and it's pretty likely that
Gabriel Black will have something to do or say about his rather terrible night
tonight. Make sure you join us for all the surprises and great wrestling action
of VCW Monday Night Wrestling!!
