Match observations:
Once again, VCW put on an action-packed edition of VCW Monday Night
Wrestling, with now only a little under three weeks remaining until VCW's next
pay-per-view spectacular, Deck the Halls. Many of the major players in Deck the
Halls had a lot on their mind tonight, and we saw a lot of great wrestling
action take place, including a major upset early in the show. Overall, things
are really heating up as VCW draws nearer to the final pay-per-view before
Wrestlewar II.
Near the beginning of the show, VCW Power Plant graduate Julian Page
came to the ring for his first speaking opportunity in VCW, only to be
interrupted by his scheduled opponent, Richard Tobian. While both Richard
Tobian and Julian Page seem to have good-sized egos, it seemed like Julian Page
was going to stand back and let Richard Tobian talk about his woes with the VCW
office, he came from behind and attacked him instead, starting the match.
Unfortunately for Julian, he found out first-hand why Richard Tobian is one of
the top wrestlers in VCW, and Richard Tobian quickly began to dominate the
match, securing a sure victory with the Fisherman Suplex in short order...
until VCW Commissioner James Lockman came down and interfered in the match,
allowing Julian Page, in the second match of his career, to beat Richard Tobian
in what is probably the biggest upset in VCW history. After the match, an irate
Richard Tobian threatened to remain in the ring and stop the show, but Tattoo
quickly came to the ring and disposed of him. Richard Tobian is obviously
getting desperate for one more shot at Gabriel Black... it looks like he'll be
willing to do anything to get it.
A mere week and a half after Neytron DelArmeggio's VCW Television Title
reign started, he already has a serious challenge looming in the horizon. After
defeating Rex Richards tonight, Rob Solomon made it clear that he wants to get
in the ring with Neytron DelArmeggio, not only for the VCW Television Title,
but for revenge for the injury that Neytron caused to his good friend Devaccio
Pola during and after the match where he won the title. Neytron DelArmeggio
wasn't on hand to respond, but it's a good bet he'll accept this challenge;
whatever else can be said about him, he doesn't turn down a fight from anybody.
Dean Sanders and Chris Champlain are still on their way to meeting the
Wrecking Crew at Deck the Halls, with a decisive victory over Hell's Bikers
tonight. Somewhat ironically, the Wrecking Crew, who Dean Sanders and Chris
Champlain will face at Deck the Halls, also defeated the Immortals, who Hell's
Bikers agreed to face as part of a four-on-four match at Deck the Halls, to
retain the VCW World Tag Team Titles. This makes the imminent conflicts coming
up even more important; both the Golden Society and the Wrecking Crew are
heading to Deck the Halls with momentum, while both Hell's Bikers and
DeJohnnyration X will want to pick up a victory more than ever at Deck the
Halls, in order to break their losing streak.
Jeff Wright, one half of the Annihilators, surprised everybody tonight
by giving Falcon an extrememly competitive match... so close that were it not
for the interference of Rebecca Black, it's questionable whether Falcon would
have won that match. After the match, Falcon and Rebecca tried to continue
pummelling on Jeff Wright. Jeff's partner, Brian Rivera, tried to stop the
beating, and for a while it looked like he might succeed, until the Manhunters
came to the ring and once again turned the tide of the battle in the favor of
the Inquisition. But even they couldn't keep the Inquisition on top of the
situation when Troy Black came to the ring, and promptly cleared them out.
Though Falcon managed to nail the Superkick on him, there wasn't any stopping
Troy Black, as he eventually cleared Falcon out of the ring, too. They'll meet
each other at Deck the Halls, and after tonight, things aren't looking good for
Falcon.
The main event for tonight came about when Gabriel Black decided he
wanted another chance against Tim Bell, who defeated him by disqualification
last week. The Technicians came out to accept the challenge, along with their
injured leader Owen Addison and their valet Jennie for moral support. After the
usual tomfoolery from Moy Lazzario and the usual confident assurances of
Inquisition victory from Gabriel Black, the match started. Strangely enough,
despite a total of three people at ringside, both sides adhered to an earlier
agreement to keep this match free of outside interference. It turned out to be
quite a close match, but in the end, Tim Bell pulled out a victory for his team
by reversing the Stone Cold Slingshot Suplex attempt by Moy Lazzario into a
small package. For the time being, the Technicians continue to come out just
ahead of the Inquisition.
Next week's show is the final edition of VCW Monday Night Wrestling
before Deck the Halls (thanks to that lousy Christmas special) and should be a
big event. Plenty of top stars are already scheduled to be in action, such as
Crimson, David Wright Hubbard, Troy Black, Lance Errington, Johnny Smiles, and
the Torturer. Don't miss the excitement and action next week when VCW presents
another edition of VCW Monday Night Wrestling!!
