Match observations:
Tonight's edition of VCW Monday Night Wrestling, the final one before
the next pay-per-view, Deck the Halls, was filled with the results of two
attempts by Gabriel Black and Richard Tobian to accomplish important goals
before the pay-per-view. For Gabriel Black, the goal was to firmly cement the
Inquisition's place as the dominant force in VCW in the face of strong, rising
opposition, while for Richard Tobian, the goal was to get one more shot at
Gabriel Black's VCW World Title by any means necessary. As the events of the
night would have it, both plans were successful on some level.
Richard Tobian, early in tonight's show, made his usual demands upon VCW
Commissioner James Lockman prior to a match with Haigeikobai. James Lockman,
fed up with Richard Tobian, retaliated by serving Richard Tobian the ultimate
insult, causing him to lose a match to Haigeikobai, then informing him of a
thirty-day suspension from VCW for his actions last week in attacking VCW
referee Tattoo. Richard Tobian flew into a rage, attacking James Lockman, but
he ended up on the short end of the stick, retreating backstage as Commissioner
Lockman announced that his suspension was now up to a hundred and twenty days.
From there, it seemed as though the show would proceed as normal.
Neytron DelArmeggio retained his VCW Television Title against Jacob Idol, and
responded to Rob Solomon's threats with a promise that he could outwrestle Rob
Solomon and eliminate any threat he posed. While Rob Solomon probably isn't
quite the skilled wrestler that Neytron DelArmeggio is, he's undeniably very
tough, and also very motivated to hurt Neytron. If Neytron walks into this
match with a cocky attitude without preparing for the threat that Rob Solomon
poses, he may have more to worry about than simply losing the VCW Television
Title.
But lest the show continue as planned, Richard Tobian wanted to make
SURE he got Commissioner James Lockman's attention, by attacking his daughter,
VCW Interviewer Stacey Lockman, during an interview with Jacob Idol, who was
fresh off a loss to Neytron DelArmeggio tonight. With intentions as vile and
disgusting as those behind any Inquisition plan in recent memory, Richard
Tobian stripped Stacey Lockman to her bra and panties, then threw her into the
dressing room of Hell's Bikers. The show went on, but the utter shock of seeing
just what Richard Tobian was capable of doing still hung in the air.
Shortly later, VCW Commissioner James Lockman was ready to respond...
and despite the fact that Hell's Bikers did the smart thing by failing to harm
their boss's daughter, he also seemed ready to kill Richard Tobian. He agreed
to give Richard Tobian the interference-free title shot that he requested...
but only if Richard Tobian beat him in a match at Deck the Halls. If Richard
Tobian lost that match, it was agreed that he would be fired from VCW. In his
haste to get the match arranged, James Lockman allowed Richard Tobian to choose
his own referee for that match. That could be a mistake; a forty-five-year-old
retired wrestler would have enough trouble beating a young, desperate Richard
Tobian who has everything to lose and everything to gain WITHOUT having a
potentially biased referee in the mix.
Though the first half of the double main event didn't go so well for the
Inquisition, with Tim Bell scoring a THIRD victory over "Stone Cold" Moy
Lazzario, the second half went a little better, perhaps due to dissention among
members of the anti-Inquisition team. Whatever the case, the match ended with a
victory for the Inquisition when Falcon nailed Jeff Wright with the Superkick
for the clean victory after nearly thirty minutes of hard-fought action.
But the Inqusition wasn't yet satisfied with that. Falcon attacked Troy
Black, and the two brawled all the way to the backstage area as Gabriel Black
and the Manhunters started mauling Lance Errington and the Annihilators. Lady
Erica Whitmore tried to interfere, but Rebecca Black stopped her and caught her
in a choke sleeper, causing her to pass out as Gabriel Black and the Manhunters
destroyed Lance Errington before her eyes. After the match, the Manhunters
carried her away like a captive, leaving the Annihilators and Lance Errington
laid out in and around the ring.
Going into Deck the Halls, VCW certainly has a very dark feeling to it.
The Inquisition had the last laugh tonight, despite losing the first four-on-
four match, and now they also have Lady Erica Whitmore in their clutches as
well, it would seem. Meanwhile, it's hard to tell exactly who is the lesser of
two evils as the cocky, overbearing VCW Commissioner James Lockman heads for a
confrontation with the desperate, single-minded Richard Tobian. And in the face
of all the rest of the turmoil in VCW, Falcon has a master plan to finally put
Troy Black down and stop him from ever making it to Wrestlewar II.
Though next week's showing of VCW Monday Night Wrestling is pre-empted
for Genghis Khan's Christmas Adventure, Deck the Halls is shaping up to be a
VERY intense pay-per-view event, with very high stakes riding on the matches
and their surrounding events. What happens in thirteen days could very well
shape the future of many VCW stars going into Wrestlewar II. After what
happened tonight, it's obvious that this is in many ways a more important event
to the future direction of VCW than any before it. Don't miss Deck the Halls,
and don't miss the return of VCW Monday Night Wrestling in two weeks from
tonight!!
