Match observations:

If there was any doubt why we called it Violent Championship Wrestling,
it has to be gone by now. Tonight's show was full of brutal attacks, career-
threatening beatings, and pints of blood spilling from several VCW superstars.
Not since Disaster Area has there been a more bloody, brutality-filled night in
VCW. At this rate, it would almost be surprising to see everybody make it to
Wrestlewar in one piece, let alone survive Wrestlewar.
From the very start of the show, we knew things were going to get ugly.
David Wright Hubbard had come to the arena, looking for Falcon to accept his
challenge for a fight tonight. With him was his wife, Michelle Hubbard, who it
was revealed has plenty of experience in violence and brutality herself as a
former member of a violent overseas promotion. But little did we know that a
fight would erupt between Falcon and David Wright Hubbard that would last
virtually all night long.
Jacob Idol and Julian Page don't seem to be too appreciative of the
violent, hardcore nature of VCW. Jacob Idol had plenty of complaining to do on
the subject himself, while Julian Page went so far as to come up with the idea
to challenge Rob Solomon to a "softcore" match, a match where closed fists,
choke holds, weapons, and throwing your opponent over the top rope are illegal.
It sounds like something out of the NWA in the eighties, but we know by now
that Rob Solomon never turns down a fight. How will he fare in a "softcore
match", though?
It's a little ironic that the blood would begin to spill in a big way
shortly after that anti-violence tirade. After making short work of Haigeikobai
and dropping a challenge to Chris Champlain for a match at Wrestlewar, Virginia
tried to go backstage... but Chris Champlain, in one of the more bizarre
moments in VCW history, broke through the cloth screen of the ViolenTron to
attack Virginia, jumping onto her with a reckless flying cross body press, then
grinding a sharp hunting knife across her forehead until it looked like raw
hamburger. Chris Champlain wasn't merely escorted away by the H.A.R.P. Squad
for this attack; he was arrested. Without the Golden Society around to stop
him, Chris Champlain is a fatality waiting to happen. On a fortunate note, the
resourceful VCW production crew was able to get a new ViolenTron screen placed
during the ensuing commercial break.
David Wright Hubbard finally found Falcon, interrupting one of his
intimate moments with Rebecca Black. Falcon didn't even have a chance to get
dressed... David Wright Hubbard hauled him out of the room in his underwear and
took him into the hallway, beginning a brutal fight that would continue all
night long. Michelle Hubbard had similar ideas about fighting Rebecca Black,
but the Torturer snuck into the room and the rest is easy enough to figure out;
there may not be a single person alive who can stand up to an axe handle-
carrying Torturer.
But if any man can, his name might very well be Crimson. For some
bizarre reason, Rex Richards seemed to think he could beat Crimson tonight.
It's true that Crimson failed to pin him in their last match, but that was only
due to the interference of Bass Rogers. Tonight, Crimson laid Rex's cocky
presumptions to rest by running right over him in short order, and adding yet
another win to his growing list. But with the Torturer and the Iron Cage Axe
Handle Death Match looming in the horizon, how much longer will that list
become before a loss is added to it?
Gabriel Black took the night off from active wrestling tonight, but he
stopped in to set up a possibility to avenge what happened last week at the
hands of the Annihilators and the Wrecking Crew. These two teams, after just
agreeing to face each other at Wrestlewar for the VCW World Tag Team Titles,
were suddenly faced with the prospect of meeting members of the Inquisition
right then and there. They wanted Gabriel Black in the ring as well, but the
Torturer was evidently able to take time off from subduing Michelle Hubbard
with an axe handle, and he joined the fray instead. In the end, the
Annihilators and the Wrecking Crew came out with the victory, but only after
seventeen hard-fought minutes against the Inquisition.
The Immortals seemed a little upset that they weren't the ones with the
coveted Wrestlewar title shot. They came up with a quick plan to buy their way
up the ladder of success by bribing opponents to lose matches to them. It
didn't work with Hell's Bikers, though; the Immortals were not only mugged and
relieved of their bribe money by Jack Norman, but they also lost the match,
seemingly due to a lack of focus. They'll have to do better than that to win
the VCW World Tag Team Titles again.
Dean Sanders deserves credit where credit is due; he said he was going
to do what Lance Errington consistently failed to do and defeat Johnny Smiles
decisively, and that's exactly what he did. To be fair, Johnny Smiles may have
had more important things on his mind, with a ever-brewing rivalry with Moy
Lazzario, not to mention Virginia's horrible injury at the hands of Chris
Champlain tonight. As it stands, however, Dean Sanders is shaping up to be one
of Lance Errington's toughest opponents yet.
When Rebecca Black brought Michelle Hubbard to the ring, along with the
Torturer, things didn't look good. With Michelle Hubbard helpless, presumably
after taking an wooden axe handle blow or two to the head, Rebecca Black
attacked her with a somewhat pornographic offense, using first a Bronco buster,
then stripping to her panties before giving Michelle the Rikishi treatment.
Michelle recovered and retaliated in kind by pulling Rebecca's panties up
further than they were intended to go, then dropping her with a more effective
inverted DDT.
Unfortunately, the Torturer came into play again, and Rebecca Black
appeared to be ready to finish Michelle off when the brawl between David Wright
Hubbard and Falcon made its way to the ring area. David Wright Hubbard
immediately cleared the ring, giving Rebecca Black a sickening running power
bomb from the ring to the floor outside that sent her straight to the hospital,
then continued his fight with Falcon, which became an official match. Somehow,
through all of the abuse taken that night, Falcon managed to roll David Wright
Hubbard up in an inside cradle and win the match, but he didn't come out a
winner after taking a post-match top-rope power bomb through a table. Hopefully
he was able to get a hospital bed next to Rebecca's. Wow... if these two are
willing to go to such measures against each other now, what will they be like
at Wrestlewar!
While this week's show should be hard to top in terms of sheer violence
for a long time, next week should be another exciting, important show. Both
Gabriel and Troy Black will be present, as will Lance Errington, VCW Television
Champion Neytron DelArmeggio, and Moy Lazzario. In addition, it's all but
confirmed that Julian Page will meet Rob Solomon in a "softcore match" next
week. Also, we should have an update on the condition of Falcon, Rebecca Black,
and Virginia, all of whom took pretty grisly injuries as a result of tonight's
mayhem. Don't miss a minute of next week's action-packed edition of VCW Monday
Night Wrestling!
