Match observations:

One day removed from the Big Fight, the situation in VCW hasn't cooled
off a bit; instead, the tension created by the pay-per-view event seems to have
remained in VCW even tonight, and the paranoia and competitive drive that
spread through VCW for the Big Fight will now probably hold over into Random
Casualties, the pay-per-view event that will take place on the sixteenth of
April. Not only did we learn the official brackets for the Random Casualties
tournament tonight, but we also learned of many confrontations that are likely
to be building for the Big Fight.
One of those issues, the Super Giant Ninja's feud with Russel "The
Muscle" Taylor, is a confrontation that nobody cared to see tonight, and nobody
will likely care to see at Random Casualties. The Super Giant Ninja once again
destroyed Russel Taylor with his superior size and power. But by far the most
interesting events took place after the match, when Tony Atlas made a surprise
appearance, crushing both men at the command of Rebecca Black. Rebecca promised
that Tony Atlas would avenge Tattoo's (entirely provoked) attack against her at
the Big Fight. Despite severe fatigue from his performance in the Big Fight,
Falcon was also present, and after some admittedly well-deserved boasting about
his performance in the Big Fight, he challenged Crimson to a match at Random
Casualties, with no disqualification, no countout, and no time limit. Crimson
has yet to officially accept, but it's hard to believe he'd back down from any
challenge. One has to think that he'll accept this match with no hesitation.
After that, events took a completely different turn, as Leslie Edwards,
formerly known as Bretta "The Barmaid" Biffcork, established the VCW T & A
division, complete with the VCW T & A Title. She wrestled a positively god-
awful match (in terms of wrestling quality, anyway) against Jasmina Ecstacy, a
local stripper suddenly drafted into VCW competition, to win the VCW T & A
Title. Despite the fact that this ranks among the worst technical matches in
VCW history, the fact that it was a Bikini Oil Wrestling match rather made up
for it; after all, who (except for almost all of the female audience of VCW)
has the presence of mind to complain about workrate and such when watching
oily, jiggling breasts Hey, at least we're not trying to pass it off as a
legitimate women's division like the competition does.
Speaking of VCW titles and divisions that are a complete joke, Lance
Errington had the right idea tonight in the view of most fans and observers
when he tried to sell the somewhat ridiculous VCW Softcore Title to a pawn
shop. Unfortunately, Neytron DelArmeggio bought the VCW Softcore Title back at
the same pawn shop hours later, and since that time Lance Errington has been
stripped of the VCW Softcore Title for unsportsmanlike conduct. An announcement
will be made concerning the future of the VCW Softcore Title next week... let's
hope that this announcement is the disbanding of the VCW Softcore Division
entirely.
The tag team scene in VCW is growing more competitive by the day. A
successful defense of the VCW World Tag Team Titles by the Wrecking Crew
against Bass Rogers and Rex Richards was followed up by a challenge for the
Immortals to meet the Wrecking Crew, one more time, at Random Casualties.
Meanwhile, the Annihilators and Hell's Bikers continued a frantic battle for
the number-two contenders' spot tonight, this time with the Annihilators coming
out on top of the situation.
Shane Douglas's situation in VCW seems to have gone from bad to worse to
nonexistant. It's been well-known that VCW Commissioner James Lockman has had
some regrets over hiring Shane Douglas after several unfriendly encounters
between the two. Tonight, after an uninspiring loss to Moy Lazzario, Shane
Douglas requested and was granted his release from VCW, as a mutual agreement
of both parties. For once, Shane Douglas seems to have exited a wrestling
organization on fairly good terms... having said that, don't be surprised if he
shows up on RAW next week for an anti-VCW shoot interview.
Commissioner James Lockman had quite a bit to say tonight. After first
announcing the Random Casualties teams and tournament brackets, then barring
Tony Atlas from VCW arenas with threats of legal arrest, he went on to make a
much more questionable judgement call, suspending Virginia from active
competition for thirty days for her interference that caused his elimination in
the Big Fight. He claims that she was singled out to set an example, but it
seems to anyone with any sense that this is an obvious, biased attempt at
revenge. Then again, all of the matches tonight ended without outside
interference... so you can't be too sure of anything. What we can be sure of is
that the situation seems far from being over, especially after the H.A.R.P.
Squad was required to break up a fight between Virginia and James Lockman.
Jacob Idol and Rob Solomon of the Hammer of the Gods decided that
tonight was a good night to continue their feud against the Technicians,
challenging Paul Canyon and Tim Bell respectively in singles competition. Jacob
Idol was successful in his match with Paul Canyon; Rob Solomon was far less
fortunate, losing his match and his VCW Television Title to Tim Bell tonight.
Oops. Obviously, this night didn't turn out quite as the Hammer of the Gods may
have liked. They still have quite a long way to go before they can claim the
dominance in VCW which they would like to have.
After winning the Big Fight last night, Crimson didn't bother to take
any time off at all, going at the competition full speed ahead as usual.
Tonight, he certainly didn't let himself have an easy night, challenging the
Torturer from the Inquisition. The results of this meeting were no different
than the results of their previous meetings; Crimson managed to come out on
top, battering the Torturer with power moves, and put him away decisively once
again. Despite Falcon's deserved claims of a great performance in the Big
Fight, he should definitely be very wary of Crimson, who seems absolutely
unstoppable these days.
The one man in VCW who may be as unstoppable as Crimson, Gabriel Black,
was also present, and like Crimson, he didn't give himself any breaks tonight.
He gave a deserved thanks to his brother Troy Black for saving his title and
possibly his life last night at the Big Fight, and after a promise to Chris
Champlain that their issues were far from over, he defended the VCW World Title
agaisnt Devaccio Pola. The match was incredibly even for twenty solid minutes
of non-stop action, until finally history repeated itself again as Gabriel
Black pulled out the hard-fought victory with the Destiny Hammer.
Tonight's show was understandably a big show, that left us with many
questions relating to the coming weeks in VCW. What was Troy Black's motive in
saving Gabriel Black from serious injury at the Big Fight? Was it merely filial
loyalty or something different? How will the makeshift teams in the Random
Casualties tournament learn to coexist, if they do at all? What will be the
fate of the VCW Softcore Title? And how will other top VCW stars figure into
the puzzle? Perhaps some of these questions will be answered in next week's
star-studded show, when Chris Champlain, David Wright Hubbard, Lance Errington,
Johnny Smiles, the Immortals, and many more VCW stars are expected to be
present and in attendance. You won't want to miss the next great episode of VCW
Monday Night Wrestling!
