Match observations:

It's only eight days removed from the Big Fight, and already the
landscape of VCW is beginning to change as we begin to come close to Random
Casualties. A number of unexpected and important events took place tonight that
could alter the course of VCW heading into the next major pay-per-view event,
Random Casualties. Many of the things that happened tonight will probably have
far-reaching consequences over the next few weeks and even months.
The undercard matches were the usual rubbish, as Steve McMichael and the
Manhunters squashed Haigeikobai and the Middle-Aged Outlaws, respectively. But
after the second match, the Middle-Aged Outlaws were in the wrong place at the
wrong time. Tony Atlas arrived at the ring and wiped out both of them, as well
as manager Jesse Smark. The H.A.R.P. Squad came to the ring to try to stop Tony
Atlas's rampage, but he was in the process of wiping them out as well when the
police arrived, and finally subdued and arrested Tony Atlas after using their
nightsticks and pepper spray on him. The message is clear; Tony Atlas wants a
match with Tattoo, and isn't afraid of challenging authority to get it. But
WILL he get it?
After the undercard matches, something scarcely more important was
decided as Neytron DelArmeggio threw out an open challenge for any wrestler in
VCW to face him for the vacant VCW Softcore Title. He came to regret that bold
move a few seconds later, when his longtime enemy Devaccio Pola answered the
challenge. Despite everyone's expectations of a disqualification victory for
Neytron due to Devaccio Pola's favored tactics being illegal in a Softcore
Match, Devaccio Pola didn't use any closed fists or weapons, and actually
outwrestled Neytron DelArmeggio to win the title with a Victory Roll. Though we
don't always remember it because of his choice of brawling tactics, tonight we
were reminded that Devaccio Pola CAN wrestle when the mood comes over him.
Bass Rogers also threw his name into the VCW title scene tonight,
calling out Tim Bell for a shot at the VCW Television Title. Despite an
enormous size and power advantage, the match didn't turn out as Bass Rogers
would have liked, ending when Tim Bell caught Bass Rogers in a small package to
win the match via pinfall. From all appearances based on this first title
defense, it looks like Tim Bell's third reign as VCW Television Champion could
be a very long and illustrious one.
Virginia and Johnny Smiles tried to convince VCW Commissioner James
Lockman to lift the suspension ordered upon Virginia for her interference in
the Big Fight, but they were unsuccessful despite a signed petition with thirty
signatures protesting Virginia's suspension. Johnny Smiles was forced into the
main event match tonight against Falcon as punishment, while Virginia was given
a humiliatingly thorough searched by the H.A.R.P. Squad, in theory for fear
that she had a concealed weapon. In reality, this was just another move by
Commissioner James Lockman to add insult to Virginia's situation. It might not
be a very good idea for DeJohnnyration X to continue to try to "fight City
Hall"... especially with the Immortals so close to winning the VCW World Tag
Team Titles again. James Lockman has already shown his considerable power over
what goes on in VCW, and it doesn't seem likely that he'd hesitate to do it
again.
Jacob Idol's second romantic relationship in VCW is without a doubt
better off than his first, as he revealed today that his new girlfriend is none
other than VCW T & A Division competitor, Jasmina Ecstacy. However, as the
manager of the Hammer of the Gods tonight, she didn't do so well; she tripped
Ken Collins, distracting the referee at a critical time and allowing Nicole to
hit Jacob Idol with a chair unnoticed. Jasmina tried to redeem herself by
attacking the Immortals after the match, but all she got was a spanking with a
steel chair after giving Robert Danson a low blow. Jasmina is certainly an
ideal romantic companion for Jacob Idol, but she doesn't seem to be such a good
manager for the Hammer of the Gods as of tonight.
Despite somewhat hopeless-looking odds against David Wright Hubbard, Rob
Solomon actually turned out to be the one that prevented the Hammer of the Gods
from suffering a complete sweep tonight. After a misguided Flying Cross
Bodypress from David Wright Hubbard took out the referee, Rob Solomon beat the
hell out of David Wright Hubbard with the hockey stick and nailed him with the
Katana Legdrop for good measure. Devaccio Pola, who will be Rob Solomon's
partner in the Random Casualties tournament, came out to stop Rob Solomon and
turn the tables... just as the referee recovered and spotted the whole thing.
David Wright Hubbard was disqualified, and Rob Solomon lived up to his promise
of a victory over David Wright Hubbard.
For whatever reason, it seemed that Lady Erica Whitmore had more plans
for Lance Errington tonight after their breakup at Deck the Halls late last
year. Perhaps she wasn't happy with how quickly he managed to get back on the
track to success after their breakup, or maybe she was motivated by simple
boredom. Whatever the case, her plan didn't work out as well as she could have
hoped; Lance Errington saw the Torturer coming in, and a misdirected blow from
the wooden axe handle hit Erica instead of Lance. But when Lance showed
compassion to her and took his eyes off the Torturer to try to comfort her, the
Torturer laid him out as well. For whatever poorly-judged reason, a match was
started, which quickly ended in a Torturer victory. But how will the higher
powers in the Inquisition react to the Torturer's accidental striking of Erica?
The Torturer may be looking for a new job before long if Gabriel Black can't
contain his temper... or he might find himself in a more dangerous situation.
After defeating the Inquisition's Moy Lazzario, Chris Champlain had a
lot of threats and promises of revenge for Troy Black. Unfortunately for Chris
Champlain, Troy Black was present, and not in a terribly merciful mood. He
entered the ring from behind Chris Champlain and attacked him, laying him out
with a double arm DDT and two Black Daggers before being pulled away by the
H.A.R.P. Squad. He also spoke publicly for the first time in over a month,
warning everyone in VCW that he was to be feared, not pitied, and that anyone
who threatened Troy or any other member of the Black family would have hell to
pay. Has Troy come around to Gabriel's side, or is something going on that we
don't know about?
After that match, Falcon continued to make threats directed at Crimson
until Johnny Smiles came out to shut him up and get on with their match. The
match was closer than anyone could have expected, and it almost appeared that
Johnny Smiles would have won it had it not been for some blatant interference
by Rebecca Black. As it is, Falcon pulled out the victory, and Johnny's
punishment from Commissioner Lockman turned out not to be a blessing in
disguise after all. There's certainly no shame in losing to Falcon, however;
especially these days, when he's more aggressive than ever due to his ongoing
feud with Crimson.
Next week's show should definitely be a must-see episode, as VCW stars
react to the events that happened tonight. How will Gabriel Black react to the
Torturer striking Erica with the axe handle? How will everybody react to Troy
Black's apparent alliance with his brother? What will Crimson's response be to
Falcon's continued challenge? Join us as we explore these questions, and put on
great wrestling matches involving such stars as Crimson, VCW World Champion
Gabriel Black, the Annihilators, and the VCW World Tag Team Champions, the
Wrecking Crew. You won't want to miss next week's edition of VCW Monday Night
Wrestling!!
