Match observations:
For the past few weeks, VCW has been deep in enemy territory, first in
Connecticut last week, and this week in Georgia. And in many ways, that's
fitting, because the concept behind the upcoming Random Casualties tournament
is drawing many wrestlers into unfriendly and unfamiliar territory. And even
outside of the tournament, some of VCW's rivalries are developing a vicious and
nasty twist. All signs are pointing to Random Casualties being an extremely
interesting pay-per-view.
After an undercard match in which the Technicians defeated the Middle-
Aged Outlaws, Lance Errington expressed himself publicly for the first time
since Lady Erica Whitmore was injured by the Torturer. Based on his words
tonight, it would appear that he has refocused on his rivalry with Gabriel
Black, and will once again turn his attention towards the VCW World Title.
Steve "Mongo" McMichael made it clear that Lance Errington isn't done with him
yet... so Lance Errington decided to be done with him right then and there. A
match between the two followed, which Lance Errington won.
But after the match came the real story. Tony Atlas hit the ring and
laid both men out with his devestating Belly-to-Belly Suplex, then called out
Tattoo again... but this time, Tattoo answered. Tony Atlas and Tattoo brawled
viciously, and even the H.A.R.P. Squad couldn't keep them seperated. It finally
took the police, who once again arrested Tony Atlas and hauled him away, to
restore order to the scene. One thing's for sure... Tattoo is obviously willing
to fight Tony Atlas. Now if only Commissioner Lockman will make the match...
Hell's Bikers and the Annihilators took their issues to the ring tonight
in singles competition, only to end up splitting the victories. Jack Norman
overpowered and defeated Brian Rivera, while Jeff Wright managed to put away
Butch Manson to even the score. The team that emerges from this feud with the
upper hand could very well be the number-one contenders to the VCW World Tag
Team Titles after Random Casualties. But will one team be able to consistently
gain the upper hand over the other team?
After faring rather poorly in past weeks, the Hammer of the Gods
performed well tonight, with Jacob Idol, Neytron DelArmeggio, and Rob Solomon
defeating DeJohnnyration X, and Julian Page defeating Chris Champlain,
admittedly with a BIG assist from Troy Black. Time will tell if this success
was a fluke, or a sign of things to come; as it stands, they are still without
any titles, and have several enemies such as Devaccio Pola and the Immortals
waiting for a chance for revenge.
Speaking of Chris Champlain's match tonight, it ended rather badly for
Chris Champlain, in more ways than simply losing the match. Troy Black beat the
hell out of him with a chair, then gave him a double arm DDT and two Black
Daggers, with the effect of it all being that Chris Champlain was removed to
the hospital with injuries. A match between the two men has also been signed
for Random Casualties. Troy Black definitely has a new vicious streak upon his
return, and not all fans like it. But it appears that more casualties may
follow Chris Champlain, because effective next week, Troy Black will return,
full-time, to active competition in VCW. If his behavior while out with the
injury is any indication, expect the body count to grow upon his return.
At the beginning of the show, Crimson challenged Falcon to a match
tonight, not wanting to wait until Random Casualties. He even went so far as to
offer to go through every member of the Inquisition tonight. Falcon later took
him up on his offer, and a Gauntlet Match featuring every male member of the
Inquisition not named Gabriel Black against Crimson was tonight's main event.
Crimson dominated the match, and in short order defeated five members of the
Inquisition. But when it came time for him to face Falcon, Bass Rogers attacked
Crimson with a chair, and the entire Inquisition pummelled him into the mat.
Finally, when Falcon started to crush his throat with a chair, David Wright
Hubbard and the Annihilators ran to the ring to break it up, but the damage was
done. For the first time over six months, Crimson was left flattened in the
ring after a severe beating. Coming so close to his match with Falcon, that
can't be a good omen.
Next week's show is the final episode of VCW Monday Night Wrestling
before the pay-per-view, Random Casualties, and so by default it's going to be
a major show. But in addition to the usual stuff, including seeing David Wright
Hubbard, VCW World Champion Gabriel Black, VCW World Tag Team Champions the
Wrecking Crew, and other major VCW stars in action, this will be a very special
edition of VCW Monday Night Wrestling for one BIG reason. Next week, Troy
Black, the VCW Intercontinental Champion, will return to active competition.
Prepare yourselves... and don't miss out! Make sure you catch all of the great
VCW action, including Troy Black's return, on next week's show!!
