Match observations:
To say that chaos reigned freely throughout VCW tonight would be an
understatement. In terms of sheer mayhem and seeing things we never thought
we'd see before, VCW continues to top itself this week. It would appear that
the tension leading up to the Big Fight and Random Casualties in the previous
months has finally snapped, and all hell's broken loose in VCW as Disaster Area
draws nearer and nearer.
Concerned that even with the addition of Troy Black, the Inquisition may
be foundering, Gabriel Black set a firm goal tonight for each member (except
for the Torturer, out with an injured neck, and the absent Manhunters). The
idea was that the Inquisition members were supposed to get motivated and turn
their fortunes around, firmly establishing the fact that they are a force to be
reckoned with in VCW. However, things certainly didn't work out as Gabriel
Black planned.
Before that story would unfold, Virginia decided to challenge James
Lockman to a rematch, right here, tonight. But she didn't get James Lockman...
she got Steve "Mongo" McMichael, widely known backstage as one of James
Lockman's "boys". Their match was fairly even in the beginning, but that
changed when VCW Head of Security Arthur Justice hit Virginia in the back with
a chair. The normally vigilant Tattoo turned a blind eye to this interference,
allowing Steve McMichael to finish the stunned Virginia with a football tackle.
Things aren't looking good in DeJohnnyration X's quest to fight the boss; maybe
it would be better for their careers if they knew when to quit this feud.
Earlier tonight, Gabriel Black demanded that Rex Richards do what has
never been done before, and defeat Crimson. As could be expected, this demand
was not to be carried out; Crimson destroyed Rex Richards despite a desperate,
aggressive edge to Rex Richards's offense. After the match, Crimson made a
challenge to Troy Black for a match at Disaster Area. As it turns out, this
wasn't the last we'd hear of that issue tonight by any means.
Following the Rex Richards slaughter, Moy Lazzario fared little better
than his colleague tonight, failing in his quest to win the VCW Television
Title away from Tim Bell. Moy Lazzario may have other issues to be concerned
with at this point, however; shortly after the Television Title match, the
Immortals challenged Moy Lazzario and Bass Rogers to a match at Disaster Area,
intending revenge for the beating that Bass Rogers and Moy Lazzario gave them
two weeks ago. Bass Rogers and Moy Lazzario have yet to respond, but after
seeing how upset they were to lose the first match two weeks ago, it seems
obvious that they'd jump at the chance to redeem themselves in a rematch.
The Immortals, for their part, continued to impress tonight with a
victory over Hell's Bikers. After the match, Hell's Bikers made it clear that
they're tired of wrestling technical wrestlers like the Immortals and the
Annihilators (who aren't really technical wrestlers, but whatever), and wanted
a Barbed Wire Match with the Wrecking Crew at Disaster Area. The last time we
saw that match was at the first Wrestlewar, and Hell's Bikers came away with a
surprise victory. It appears that they're trying to achieve greater success by
causing history to repeat itself at Disaster Area, but beating the Wrecking
Crew in any kind of match is no easy task for anyone.
It's also true that it's no easy task to defeat Devaccio Pola in any
kind of match, including a Softcore Match, so when Neytron DelArmeggio offered
Devaccio Pola a rematch for the VCW Softcore Title, it appeared as though he
was actually showing some courage and willingness to be a fighting champion.
But of course that was too good to be true, knowing Neytron; the whole thing
was obviously a set-up, which ended in Rob Solomon coming to the ring and
nailing Devaccio Pola with his hockey stick. They laid out Devaccio Pola with
hockey stick blows and a Piledriver for good measure, then Rob Solomon threw
down a challenge to a Hockey Stick Ladder and Cage Match for Disaster Area.
Considering that Devaccio Pola has been taking every chance he can get to beat
the hell out of Rob Solomon, it's a foregone conclusion that he'll accept that
match.
Despite his teammates failing at every turn to live up to the tasks set
before them, Bass Rogers managed a success of sorts by pulling out a surprising
upset win over Chris Champlain. Coming immediately after Chris Champlain's
challenge to a Hardcore Cage Match at Disaster Area against Gabriel Black, this
loss has to be a severe blow to Chris Champlain's pride. As it turns out,
however, this wasn't the last that would be seen of Chris Champlain tonight. He
would come back later, in a big way.
After accepting the challenge made by Hell's Bikers for a Barbed Wire
Match at Disaster Area, the Wrecking Crew faced Rob Solomon and Jacob Idol of
the Hammer of the Gods. To the surprise of many people, the Hammer of the Gods
managed to upset the Wrecking Crew when Neytron DelArmeggio interfered on their
behalf. After the match, it looked like the Wrecking Crew was going to receive
a beating from the Hammer of the Gods, when Devaccio Pola showed up, still
nursing his injuries from his earlier beating, and managed to run off all three
of the attackers. Devaccio Pola then issued a challenge to the Hammer of the
Gods for a three-on-three match next week against the Wrecking Crew and
himself.
Before his match with Ruby Richard Cage tonight, Troy Black accepted
Crimson's challenge, on the provision that he put up his VCW World Title shot
at Blood and Thunder. Then the match started, and the unthinkable happened.
Ruby Richard Cage defeated Troy Black via pinfall. He had a lot of help from
Crimson, however, who came into the ring and Chokeslammed both Troy Black and
Rebecca Black, then threw Ruby Richard Cage on top for the win. After the
match, Crimson accepted Troy's stipulation, and went even further by stacking
Rebecca Black on a table underneath a table with Troy Black on it, and driving
Ruby Richard Cage through the whole mess with a top-rope Chokeslam. Rebecca
Black and Ruby Richard Cage were taken out on stretchers, but amazingly Troy
Black sat up and came after Crimson again. Short of breaking his neck, as was
nearly done at Wrestlewar, is there any way to stop Troy Black?
Troy Black's tag team partner and co-holder of the VCW World Tag Team
Titles, Falcon, wasn't so hard to stop tonight. In fact, he never even got
going at all. Disgusted with the injury to Rebecca Black, which he blamed on
Gabriel, he laid down for David Wright Hubbard, who reluctantly covered him for
the victory. But after that "match", Julian Page, who had previously promised
to win the VCW Intercontinental Title prior to his match with Paul Canyon, came
out of the crowd and ambushed David Wright Hubbard, laying him out with the
ring bell and stealing the VCW Intercontinental Title. With all due respect to
Julian Page, he's not exactly a veteran in VCW, and it appears he may be making
the wrong guy angry with these latest actions.
Speaking of anger, Gabriel Black was practically boiling over with anger
when he came out for his title defense against Hunk Higgins. With the members
of the Inquisition failing left and right and Falcon's insubordination, there
was onlyone way the night could get any worse for Gabriel. Sure enough, it did.
Hunk Higgins defeated Gabriel Black via countout, thanks to Chris Champlain
laying Gabriel Black out outside of the ring. Gabriel Black retained the VCW
World Title, but that seemed small consolation to him; he went completely
berserk after the match, injuring innocent victims with the Destiny Driver
until he was dragged away by security.
After tonight, we know a few things for sure. The Middle-Aged Outlaws
can finally claim victory, albeit tainted victory, over two top stars of VCW.
And if Gabriel Black and Troy Black didn't already have sufficient reason to
hate Chris Champlain and Crimson, they do now. But what about Falcon, who
appears ready to walk away from the whole mess? What about Julian Page, who may
not be long for this world if David Wright Hubbard gets his hands on him? What
new turns will the DeJohnnyration X feud with the ruling powers of VCW take?
And is the Inquisition on its last legs, or is this an insidious plan that runs
deeper than anyone has suspected?
Perhaps we'll come a little closer to discovering the truth behind these
questions in next week's show, a mere thirteen days away from Disaster Area.
Many of VCW's top stars will be present and in action, such as Lance Errington,
Johnny Smiles, Chris Champlain, the Annihilators, and the Manhunters. Don't
miss a moment of the exciting action... make sure you join us for next week's
edition of VCW Monday Night Wrestling!
