Match observations:
The various feuding factions and groups in VCW are intensifying their
feuds more than ever, as Gang Wars draws closer and closer. With DeJohnnyration
X fighting the System, Hell's Bikers fighting an alliance formed among their
enemies, the Technicians and Lance Errington fighting the Hammer of the Gods,
and the Inquisition fighting itself, it doesn't look like there'll be any
shortage of team-against-team matches for Gang Wars.
Even the Middle-Aged Outlaws have gotten into the act, bringing in "Big
Sleepy" Evan Slash and "The Total Packer" Flex Loser, both of whom seem to live
up to their names, and forming a unit they refer to as the Rich Guys' Club.
This was done with the purpose of fighting their enemies, the Young Blood, all
of whom are complete losers that we've never even seen in VCW before last week.
But the Young Blood had two more members of their own, in "The Draft Beer
Swiller" Mike Awful and "The Plain Event" Duck Columbo, and they won their
match tonight. The Middle-Aged Outlaws must have incriminating pictures of
someone important; last month they get in the main events, and this month they
bring in some of their even less talented buddies for this occasion!? Most
would agree that this entire bunch of nonsense is something that all of VCW
could do without.
Tonight, the Immortals got their revenge against the System for being
screwed last week against Steve McMichael and Arthur Justice by making sure
that McMichael and Justice failed to win the VCW World Tag Team Titles tonight.
That, however, would come back to haunt DeJohnnyration X; Virginia lost to
Neytron DelArmeggio when Jerry Rogers ignored a handful of tights and made a
lightning-fast count on a pin situation, while the Immortals lost to newcomers
in VCW "Doctor" Dave Adams and Main Street Pete when Arthur Justice returned
the favor and interfered in their match. This would seem to be leading up to a
DeJohnnyration X battle with the System at Gang Wars... and given the odds,
it's hard to see DeJohnnyration X coming out ahead.
The bitter rivalry between Rob Solomon and Devaccio Pola shows no signs
of ending even after a clear-cut victory for Devaccio Pola in the Hockey Stick
Ladder and Cage Match at Disaster Area. Devaccio Pola picked up another victory
over Rob Solomon tonight in an I Quit match, but knowing the history and
tempers of these two men, it's hard to imagine the feud ending even now. It
seems like it'll take a truly monumental match to finally cool the rivalry
between these two.
Not only did Crimson accept the challenge put forth by the Wrecking
Crew, the Annihilators, and David Wright Hubbard for a match against Gang Wars,
he also called them out for a match tonight. Hell's Bikers won this match, but
the match at Gang Wars will be under different circumstances. It will be an
elimination match, and it will also feature David Wright Hubbard and a partner
of Hell's Bikers who is yet to be named. Crimson did give us one clue as to
this partner's identity, however; it's not the One Man Gang, who has been known
to team with Hell's Bikers in the past.
Gabriel Black's threat to have Falcon beaten tonight proved out to be a
little hollow. Bass Rogers, perhaps the most formidable remaining Inquisition
loyalist, was unable to defeat Falcon tonight when the two men met one-on-one.
This doesn't bode well for Gabriel Black's remaining half of the Inquisition
going into Gang Wars. Losing Moy Lazzario and Rex Richards is one thing, but
every day it's looking more and more like the Inquisition couldn't afford to
lose Troy Black and Falcon and remain a dominant force in VCW.
Nor was this the only area in which Gabriel Black's half of the
Inquisition came up short tonight. In the main event, Gabriel Black teamed up
with the leader of the Hammer of the Gods, and VCW Intercontinental and
Television Champion, Julian Page, to take on Lance Errington and Troy Black.
They lost the match via disqualification when the remainder of Gabriel Black's
Inquisition and the Hammer of the Gods ran in, but it looked as though they
would have the last laugh by pummelling Troy Black and Lance Errington into the
mat. They were denied even that priviledge, however, when the Technicians, the
remaining Inquisition rebels, and Devaccio Pola all ran to the ring and chased
away the attackers. A challenge was made, and seemingly accepted, for a huge
sixteen-man tag team match next week. Such a large match has never taken place
before in VCW, and as close to Gang Wars as we are, it could turn out to be
quite an event.
Next week's show should also be a good one. In addition to the nearly
confirmed sixteen-man tag team match, many other VCW superstars will also be in
action, including Johnny Smiles, David Wright Hubbard, Moy Lazzario, and many
others. If events in VCW continue to escalate as Gang Wars draws nearer, we
could be in for a few pretty intense weeks in the forseeable future. Whatever
the case, make sure you don't miss out; join us for the next exciting edition
of VCW Monday Night Wrestling!!
