Match observations:

As Gang Wars rapidly approaches, tonight's show centered around one
thing: VCW's first sixteen-man tag team match, in which the Technicians, Lance
Errington, and Devaccio Pola teamed with half of the Inquisition to take on the
Hammer of the Gods and the other half of the Inquisition. This match was not
only an innovation and a landmark in VCW, it was also a possible preview of
what could happen in Gang Wars, when the fighting within the Inquisition comes
to a head and the Hammer of the Gods comes face to face with the Technicians
and their allies.
But before that match could take place, we got to see another
demonstration of the abilities of "Doctor" Dave Adams and Main Street Pete, two
newcomers to VCW. Tonight, they faced the Annihilators, in what looked to be
ideal circumstances; they went into the match coming off of a victory against
the Immortals, while the Annihilators were on somewhat of a losing streak
lately. But none of that mattered when the match went down; the Annihilators
reasserted their position as one of the tag teams in VCW's upper echelon with a
victory over these two newcomers.
Nothing has been heard yet concerning who Hell's Bikers have selected to
be their partner at Gang Wars, but David Wright Hubbard, one of their biggest
opponents, doesn't seem too worried right now. Jack Norman, his opponent
tonight, seemed to be rather unaccustomed to fighting an opponent his own size,
and David Wright Hubbard not only matched his power, but exceeded him in
wrestling skill, picking up a victory tonight. But it remains to be seen if
David Wright Hubbard and his partners will continue this kind of success at
Gang Wars; in addition to the mystery partner, they have to watch out for
Crimson, who has proven himself capable of dealing with six men in one night in
the past, and who is especially dangerous since his change of attitude
recently.
Any momentum and prestige Leslie Edwards received from her questionable
victory over Virginia last week was lost tonight, after Jasmina Ecstacy
defeated her in an Evening Gown Match. After the match, Jasmina Ecstacy took
the opportunity to challenge Jennie, the reigning VCW T & A Champion, to a
"Dirty Slut Scaffold Match", in which the object would be for each woman to
throw her opponent off of a scaffold into a pit of mud. If Jennie accepts, this
match will take place at Gang Wars. While the show at Disaster Area will be
hard to top, this match could turn out to be a unique and exciting experience.
The System also had an agenda tonight. Their plan was to further
demoralize DeJohnnyration X with a victory over them in tag team competition
tonight, and it worked. After Commissioner Lockman guaranteed a victory for
Arthur Justice and Steve McMichael against Johnny Smiles and Virginia, he
delivered, personally ensuring it by attacking Virginia with his cane.
DeJohnnyration X will face the System in a four-on-four elimination match at
Gang Wars, but can they expect to have any more success fighting against the
very people who control the booking and pay the referees' wages?
The sixteen-man match itself came next, and it was a big event...
literally, considering that it lasted over an hour. Aside from the Big Fight,
this was the longest match in VCW history, which is to be expected, considering
that all sixteen men saw plenty of action. In the end, Gabriel Black earned the
victory for his team with a Destiny Hammer on Tim Bell. Whatever else can be
said about Gabriel's half of the Technicians and the Hammer of the Gods, they
have unity, perhaps more than the Inquisition dissenters or the Technicians and
their hastily-gathered allies. That could be a key advantage at Gang Wars, and
might very well make the difference in the outcomes of the matches.
Next week, in the last episode of VCW Monday Night Wrestling before Gang
Wars, there should be a good deal of action as well. Many top VCW stars such as
Crimson, Devaccio Pola, and the Wrecking Crew will be present, and considering
that this is the last VCW show before Gang Wars, it's quite likely that
anything could happen as VCW's stars attempt to gain the upper hand going into
their pay-per-view matches. In any event, it'll be a show you won't want to
miss, so make sure you join us for next week's edition of VCW Monday Night
Wrestling!
