Match observations:

Next week, VCW Monday Night Wrestling will be preempted by the San
Francisco Tennis Invitational. Since there will be no live VCW television
event for the next two weeks, tonight's show may prove to be an important
time in terms of getting in the last words or attacks before the two-week
break.
After defeating the always-tough Bass Rogers with a flying cross body
press, Lance Errington made a challenge to the reigning VCW Intercontinental
Champion and VCW Television Champion, Julian Page, for either or both of Julian
Page's titles to be put on the line in a match at Blood and Thunder. Coming off
a loss to Lance Errington at Gang Wars, Julian Page doesn't have much leverage
to refuse this challenge if he wants to be a fighting champion. This is looking
like a big opportunity for Lance Errington to finally wear VCW championship
gold again, if he can defeat Julian Page again.
Shortly after that challenge was made, another one was answered. After
making short work of Moy Lazzario, "Macho Man" Randy Savage accepted David
Wright Hubbard's challenge to a match at Gang Wars. This match, a meeting
between a legendary figure in professional wrestling and one of VCW's most
notorious brawlers, has the makings of a classical match. This match is not
only important for David Wright Hubbard, as a chance to prove that he can
compete with one of the greatest wrestlers of all time; it's also important to
Randy Savage, who could defy the critics who claim that age has taken away all
of his ability with a strong showing in this match.
After dealing with Arthur Justice's attempt to take him down tonight,
Johnny Smiles had a reluctant challenge to make. Despite trying to backtrack
and amend his words several times, Johnny Smiles made a challenge to Crimson
for a match at Blood and Thunder, attempting to gain revenge after Crimson hurt
Virginia last week. Crimson attempted to dispose of Johnny early, but Johnny
brought the ropes up as he stepped over them into the ring, buying himself
enough time to get out of the area. Considering the lack of success he's had in
fighting superior odds these days, what could Johnny Smiles be thinking,
challenging Crimson to a match like that?
Jiro Tobikuma, former SJPW Heavyweight Champion, made his VCW debut
tonight against none other than Neytron DelArmeggio, VCW's self-proclaimed
master of pure wrestling. Unfortunately, Jiro Tobikuma's debut didn't quite go
as planned, when Tim Bell rushed onto the scene during the match and attacked
Neytron DelArmeggio with a chair, perhaps in retaliation for Neytron's attack
last week. Jiro Tobikuma seemed pretty angry at his VCW debut being spoiled,
and took out that anger by laying out both Tim Bell and Neytron DelArmeggio. In
an unrelated incident, Neytron presented Stacey Lockman with a painting tonight
as a gift; is he merely sucking up to the boss's daughter to advance his VCW
career, or is there something more?
After seeing last week's unusual behavior from Brian Rivera, his tag
team partner Jeff Wright was understandably worried about him causing trouble
this week, when the Annihilators faced the Wrecking Crew. It turns out that
those suspicions were well-based in truth, as Brian Rivera earned the
Annihilators a victory over the Wrecking Crew tonight after nailing Blade with
a jar of mayonnaise. After the match, the Wrecking Crew made sure to make their
disapproval clear, laying Brian Rivera out with the Breakdown. Whether Brian
Rivera's behavior is intentional or due to a complete change in attitude, one
thing's for sure... it's not earning him any respect among his friends.
The Immortals seemed doomed to fail in their quest for the VCW World Tag
Team Titles tonight from the very beginning. They were defeated by Rob Solomon
and Jacob Idol of the Hammer of the Gods, as well as Jack Norman and Butch
Manson of Hell's Bikers. By the time they reached the Manhunters, they were
battered and exhausted, and the fact that Tattoo was the special referee for
the match seemed to seal their fate. But after nearly seventeen minutes, the
Immortals managed to hang in there, gaining the upper hand on the Manhunters
and connecting with the sunset flip variation of the Fall From Grace. Despite
his obvious personal bias as a member of the System, Tattoo did the right
thing, counting the pinfall and awarding the match, and the VCW World Tag Team
Titles to the Immortals. What happened after the match was a different story,
however, as Tattoo laid out both Immortals, then abducted Nicole. Obviously,
the System isn't happy with the outcome of tonight's match, nor are they
anywhere near being finished with DeJohnnyration X.
Next week, VCW Monday Night Wrestling will be preempted by the San
Francisco Tennis Invitational. But, two weeks from tonight, VCW returns to
its regular time with a great, action-packed show. Gabriel Black, Troy Black,
Falcon, Julian Page, and many, many more top stars of VCW are expected to be
present. It's well worth the wait; you won't want to miss the next VCW show,
coming up in two weeks. Make sure you join us two weeks from now for the next
action-packed installment of VCW Monday Night Wrestling!!
