Match observations:
After what was perhaps the most eventful show in VCW history, there had
seemed to be a new set of people on top. However, with the events that took
place during tonight's show, it appears as though that may change yet again, as
the stars who had been dominant before in VCW aren't ready to concede their
power without a fight. Blood and Thunder changed the face of VCW drastically,
but not everyone was happy with those changes, and now some seek to change it
back to the way it was before.
Owen Addison made a triumphant return to active VCW competition last
night, defeating Jacob Idol. Tonight, when the Ontario Color Show reunited to
face the Middle-Aged Outlaws, it seemed evident that they'd be equally
successful. But that wasn't to be the case, as Jacob Idol and Rob Solomon came
to the ring and attacked them behind the referee's back, enabling the Middle-
Aged Outlaws to unbelievably steal a victory against one of the most renowned
teams in VCW. Though this was an obvious fluke, it still raises a question:
will the Ontario Color Show be able to have the impact on VCW that they did a
year and a half ago?
As retribution for attacking her last week and last night, and to keep
him from causing trouble elsewhere, new VCW Commissioner Virginia booked
Neytron DelArmeggio in a handicap match against the VCW World Tag Team
Champions, the Immortals. Neytron held his own, even knocking Ken Collins
nearly into a coma with a series of SIX rolling Aztecan suplexes, but there
seemed to be no way that he could beat both Immortals... until Jacob Idol (who
seemed to be in everyone's business tonight) tripped Robert Danson, who
stumbled into a small package that earned Neytron the victory. Neytron
DelArmeggio now has the distinction of defeating BOTH of the VCW World Tag Team
Champions at once, and it's a good bet that he won't let us forget about it for
a long time.
Despite her obvious disdain for the VCW T & A Division and complaints to
our new commissioner, Christina Ellis eventually accepted a Catfight tonight
against Leslie Edwards. But instead of going for the victory by attempting to
rip off her opponent's clothes, Christina Ellis just beat the hell out of
Leslie Edwards instead, finishing her off with her own move, the sleeperhold.
The referee had no choice but to stop the match when Leslie Edwards was unable
to continue, ending the one-sided match without anybody being stripped of their
clothes. Needless to say, this didn't exactly do wonders for Christina Ellis's
already low popularity. It didn't do too badly for her won-loss record in VCW,
though; she's now two and zero.
In the first of the Survival of the Fittest Tournament matches, we saw
two men enter the ring who both needed a victory to regain their stature in VCW
after decisive losses at Blood and Thunder. Rob Solomon wrestled his usual
match, using stiff blows and foreign objects, and brawling outside the ring,
while Lance Errington, instead of working on Solomon's back and legs to set up
the Scorpion Deathlock, chose to target his neck instead. Lance Errington's
strategy paid off when he finished Rob Solomon off with a pair of double
underhook piledrivers, advancing to the second round of the tournament with a
much-needed win.
The Wrecking Crew and Jack Norman and Butch Manson of Hell's Bikers were
supposed to meet tonight to decisively determine who would be the number-one
contenders to the Immortals' VCW World Tag Team Titles tonight after they
battled to a draw last night. They had a violent, intense brawl tonight, but
once again nothing was settled, as both teams ended up getting counted out for
brawling on the outside of the ring. The last decisive meeting between the two
teams, at Disaster Area, saw Hell's Bikers defeat the Wrecking Crew in a bloody
Barbed Wire Match, but with the number-one contendership at stake, both teams
have taken this long-standing rivalry to new levels.
The leader of Hell's Bikers, Crimson, sat down with another fellow
member, Dick Douglas, for an interview from his home in Atlanta, Georgia. From
there, he told us that he would not be competing actively in VCW for the next
four months, but also that in four months, everybody in VCW had better watch
out, especially Troy Black, Virginia, Gabriel Black, and David Wright Hubbard,
all of whom he listed as potential victims. But for the time being, Crimson's
absence creates a large gap in the power structure of VCW that many people are
eager to try to capitalize on.
Our second Survival of the Fittest Tournament Match tonight saw two VCW
Power Plant alumni lock horns, as the size and athleticism of Arthur Justice
was pitted against the skill and craftiness of Moy Lazzario. Dominating the
match through size and power, Arthur Justice seemed to be on the verge of
winning. But unknown to him, Moy Lazzario had previously made an agreement with
Steve "Mongo" McMichael, his former partner, and that came into play as Steve
McMichael saved Moy Lazzario from a pin by putting his foot on the ropes. When
Arthur Justice went to complain to the referee about it, Moy Lazzario saw his
chance, and rolled Arthur Justice up in an inside cradle to win the match and
move on in the tournament. Moy Lazzario will face Lance Errington in the second
round of the tournament, and it seems as though Steve "Mongo" McMichael is now
aligned with him as well. As a result, the tournament brackets now look like
this:

Thanks to Virginia becoming the new VCW Commissioner, Johnny Smiles
received a shot at both the VCW Intercontinental Title and the VCW Television
Title against Julian Page tonight. Johnny came to fight tonight, but he seemed
outmatched against Julian Page, who dominated the majority of the match. In the
end, Julian Page escaped a Smiledriver attempt, then grabbed Johnny from behind
and brought him down in a dragon suplex for the victory. Despite Virginia's
intentions, Julian Page was on top of his game tonight, and Johnny Smiles was
outwrestled, plain and simple.
When Virginia came out to make her policies known on her first night as
VCW Commissioner, she was interrupted by "Pretty Boy" Jimmy Lockman, formerly
known as VCW Commissioner James Lockman, who wanted another shot at regaining
his title. Virginia refused at first, but then agreed to allow Stacey Lockman a
chance to win the spot back for her father if she could defeat Virginia in a
cage match tonight. If Virginia won, however, it was agreed that she would keep
her job, and Stacey would wear a French maid's dress and kiss Marty Jannetty
during next week's show.
With the aid of some brass knuckles, Stacey Lockman started the cage
match in control, but it didn't take Virginia long to take over. Virginia
dominated Stacey, and seemed to be on the verge of defeating her when "Pretty
Boy" Jimmy Lockman made his way into the cage and assaulted Virginia, then
draped Stacey's arm over her fallen body. He then made his escape, thinking
that his plan had gone off without a hitch, and didn't see Virginia put one of
her arms over Stacey's body as well. The referee recovered and counted a double
pin. Jimmy Lockman assumed that he was once again Commissioner, firing every
member of DeJohnnyration X on the spot and attacking Virginia, only to be
chased away by Tattoo. The reality of the situation is still up in the air,
however, and the entire matter is currently under review by the VCW Executive
Committee. A decision is expected to be announced on next week's show.
After interfering in two matches tonight, Jacob Idol had earned more
than the usual disdain from the fans. But much to the delight of these fans,
Jacob Idol got his when challenging Troy Black for the VCW World Title. Despite
claims that he had the perfect strategy for defeating Troy Black, and promising
a title change tonight, he went down to a kick to the midsection, a double arm
DDT, and the Black Dagger in under thirty seconds. Jacob Idol was only the next
in a long line of people to discover that beating Troy Black is easier said
than done.
After the match, Troy Black spoke for the first time since winning the
title, promising to set a new standard of championship greatness in VCW. But
the speech didn't go as expected, as Melissa DelArmeggio returned to VCW for
the first time in four months to apologize for not believing Troy earlier, and
to congratulate him on winning the VCW World Title. This moment of happiness
didn't last long, however, before Gabriel Black came out to censor Melissa. He
informed everybody that as the owner of Melissa's contract, he didn't want her
reappearing in VCW tonight or any other night, then offered to put that
contract on the line against the VCW World Title in a ladder match at Survival
of the Fittest. Troy Black accepted, and it's now official. Gabriel Black and
Troy Black will meet again, in a ladder match, with Melissa DelArmeggio's VCW
contract and the VCW World Title on the line. But after all of the punishment
Troy Black has taken recently, can he survive the danger inherent in a ladder
match? Gabriel Black may have picked the perfect way to put Troy Black's title
reign to an end a mere month after it started.
Next week's show should be filled with action as well. It's expected
that we will hear the official word on the status of the VCW Commissioner's
position, and we'll see Jiro Tobikuma battle Dick Douglas and Johnny Smiles
take on Randy Savage in Survival of the Fittest Tournament matches. In
addition, many more top VCW stars such as David Wright Hubbard, Falcon, and
Gabriel Black are expected to be present. Don't miss a minute of the next
exciting episode of VCW Monday Night Wrestling!!
