Match observations:

With the controversy surrounding last week's match between Stacey
Lockman and Virginia to determine the holder of the office of VCW Commissioner,
there was a heavy cloud of disorder hanging over VCW tonight, and nobody quite
knew who was in charge. With the Survival of the Fittest Tournament going on in
the midst of all the controversy over who exactly is in control of VCW, tonight
was expected to be unpredictable. Despite those expectations, it was
unpredictable in unexpected ways.
Jimmy Lockman's assumption of power as the show began was soon revealed
to be premature, and despite his intentions he found himself unable to fire
DeJohnnyration X, give the VCW World Tag Team Titles to his new chosen team,
the Manhunters, or even retain full control of the commissioner's position.
Duelling legalities and technicalities from both sides of the dispute over who
was in charge of VCW ended up with both Jimmy Lockman and Virginia laying claim
to the position of VCW Commissioner. In the end, through compromise and
negotiation, they managed to cobble together some matches for tonight's show
that both parties could agree on.
David Wright Hubbard's loss to "Macho Man" Randy Savage at Blood and
Thunder doesn't seem to have slowed him down one bit. After making short work
of Russel "The Muscle" Taylor tonight, he had plenty of threats for both
Crimson and Savage tonight, promising that Crimson would be put out of the game
with another injury as soon as he returned from his current one, and that
Savage would be beaten into retirement. Coming from anyone else, these threats
would seem to writing checks that would be impossible to cash, but if anyone is
capable of carrying them out, it's David Wright Hubbard.
Though they seemed to work well together for a while, the Annihilators
are still having their problems these days, as Brian Rivera's distraction by
Nurse Vivacia led to Jeff Wright being double-teamed and beaten by "Doctor"
Dave Adams and Main Street Pete. Their arguments after the match led to a
handshake and an agreement to work together better in the future, but the fact
remains that over the past few months, Brian Rivera seems to be a changed man,
and not necessarily for the better. Can the Annihilators, like the Ontario
Color Show a year ago, survive a personality conflict between the two members
of the team?
Based on the negotiations between her father and Virginia, not only did
Stacey Lockman have to wear a French maid's dress and kiss Marty Jannetty
tonight, but she had to wrestle Nicole in a French Maid Dress Match tonight.
Neytron DelArmeggio supplied her with a secret weapon, a pair of scissors, but
Johnny Smiles was wise to their plan and confiscated them quickly. But Stacey
Lockman had more than one trick up her sleeve, and the Lockman family genes
proved to run strong in her blood when she retrieved a pair of brass knuckles
from her panties, which she used to knock Nicole senseless and win the match.
Strangely, Stacey Lockman has won every VCW match she has ever been a part of
in some form or degree.
Jimmy Lockman's negotiations with Virginia turned up another match,
however, and this one seemed more favorable to his side. The Manhunters, who
have evidently been employed as Lockman's personal thugs after the Inquisition
was disbanded by Gabriel Black, received a shot at the VCW World Tag Team
Titles against the team that took those titles from them, the Immortals.
Despite their size and power, however, the Manhunters couldn't get the job done
against the expertise and quickness of Ken Collins and Robert Danson, and lost
the match to Ken Collins and his perfectly-executed Flying Dropkick.
Angry over losing his job with the Inquisition, Bass Rogers called out
his former leader, Gabriel Black, for a match. Unexpectedly, Bass Rogers
dominated the match, knocking Gabriel around the ring with stiff blows. Gabriel
seemed in danger of losing the match, especially when he landed hard on his
elbow from a devestating power bomb. But in the end, the wrestling savvy of
Gabriel Black prevailed, despite his elbow injury, when he rolled out of the
way of the Moonsault and cradled Bass Rogers for the victory. After the match,
he laid out Bass Rogers with a chair, and promised a victory against Troy Black
in their Survival of the Fittest Ladder Match... a victory that we now know
won't happen, because Bass Rogers's devestating power bomb has put Gabriel
Black on the sidelines for the next three months with an elbow injury. The
status of the main event for Survival of the Fittest is now in question.
The match between Neytron DelArmeggio and Tattoo didn't go quite as
Jimmy Lockman had hoped. Tattoo's size and power proved to be an insurmountable
obstacle for Neytron, and only the intervention of the Manhunters saved him
from being pinned in the middle of the ring. After the match, even that wasn't
enough to stop Tattoo. Despite a three-on-one assault from Neytron and the
Manhunters, Tattoo came back to drive them off, then issue a personal challenge
to Jimmy Lockman for a match at Survival of the Fittest. As we would find out
later tonight, he wasn't even willing to wait that long.
The Survival of the Fittest Tournament has also progressed, as Dick
Douglas's brawling tactics failed to measure up to Jiro Tobikuma's stiff,
seamless offense, and Randy Savage's intense brawling and unpredictability
overcame Johnny Smiles. Half of the first round of the tournament has now been
decided, and next week there will be two more tournament matches, pitting
Neytron DelArmeggio against Falcon and Bass Rogers against David Wright
Hubbard. Here are the brackets of the tournament as it stands right now:
When Falcon came to the ring tonight, he had a lot of things to say
about a lot of people, including Troy Black, Rebecca Black, his opponent
tonight, Julian Page, and his opponent in the Survival of the Fittest
Tournament, Neytron DelArmeggio. But Julian Page, who was defending the VCW
Television Title, was up to the task tonight, shocking everybody by defeating
Falcon with a small package out of the Falcon Arrow, admittedly with a handful
of Falcon's pants. This is definitely one of the biggest victories of Julian
Page's career... but was this an upset, or a sign of just how good Julian Page
really is?
The main event tonight was a rematch from Blood and Thunder, in which
Virginia and "Pretty Boy" Jimmy Lockman did battle one more time to determine
who would be the true VCW Commissioner. Once again, Virginia hit the
Spinebuster, and whether or not Jimmy Lockman could have kicked out before the
three count was once again left to our imaginations, as Murray McAllister
distracted referee Linda Peterson. Virginia immediately took exception, and
started scolding Linda Peterson for being an idiot, when Stacey Lockman threw
her father's cane into the ring. Jimmy Lockman took advantage of the
opportunity, nailing Virginia with it and sending her crashing into Linda
Peterson.
With no referee, the odds were even more stacked in Jimmy Lockman's
favor, as he pulled out a pair of brass knuckles and hit Virginia with them.
Not willing to continue to allow Jimmy Lockman to cheat his way through this
match, the rest of DeJohnnyration X came to the ring, only to be countered by
the Manhunters and Neytron DelArmeggio coming to the ring to give Jimmy Lockman
a hand. Linda Peterson got up to see a huge eight-man brawl taking place in the
ring, and immediately called for a double disqualification, leaving us without
a decisive verdit or a commissioner. That didn't stop the brawl in the ring,
however; Tattoo would be the one to do that, clearing the ring of the
Manhunters and Neytron, then giving Jimmy Lockman the Jackhammer as the show
went off the air.
It turns out that instead of getting answers tonight, all we got were
more questions. Not only is the office of VCW Commissioner still embroiled in
controversy, but now the main event for Survival of the Fittest is unknown, as
it's obvious that Gabriel Black will be unable to compete in a high-impact
ladder match that night. Perhaps next week we'll find out more about these
situations. In addition to Falcon taking on Neytron DelArmeggio and David
Wright Hubbard facing Bass Rogers in tournament matches, we will also see many
other top VCW stars in action, including the Ontario Color Show, Devaccio Pola,
Lance Errington, and VCW World Champion Troy Black. Make sure you tune in for
next week's installment of VCW Monday Night Wrestling!!
