Match observations:
The final four participants in the Survival of the Fittest tournament
have been decided tonight, along with several other issues looming over this
Sunday's pay-per-view event. In a mere six days, events will take place that
will shape the future of VCW leading into Wrestlewar on January twenty-ninth,
and probably a good deal beyond that. The outcome of this Sunday's pay-per-view
matches will have an important impact on VCW.
Tonight, as the show opened Troy Black gave us his perspective on the
Iron Cage Axe Handle Match this Sunday. While he's still obviously going into
the wrong kind of match with the wrong man in the minds of many people, there
can be no doubt that he's determined to bring down Tony Garcia and walk away
with the VCW World Title and Melissa DelArmeggio's VCW contract, regardless of
the risks and seeming difficulty of the task ahead of him.
Another, much less important match that we'll see at Survival of the
Fittest will feature "Doctor" Dave Adams and Main Street Pete facing off
against the Middle-Aged Outlaws, based on the events of the past few weeks. The
Middle-Aged Outlaws want a stipulation put in the match now where Nurse Vivacia
leaves with them should they win the match. Considering that they don't win
many matches, and this one probably won't be any exception, it may be a moot
point anyway.
Speaking of goofy tag teams at Survival of the Fittest, the Heavy Metal
Express is expected to make their VCW debut at the Waste-of-Time preceeding
this Sunday's pay-per-view. The team, consisting of Marty Jannetty and a
newcomer to VCW, Lars Coverdale, may have the potential to go far... or it may
be another spectacular failure, like the somewhat similar New Rockers in the
WWF. After seeing them tonight, however, one has to conclude that they're
certainly not the smartest guys in VCW.
After being beaten by Steve "Mongo" McMichael two weeks ago, Jiro
Tobikuma had his revenge tonight, costing him a match against Arthur Justice.
Mongo's partner, Moy Lazzario, fared no better tonight, losing in the second
round of the Survival of the Fittest Tournament to Lance Errington. If they can
take any consolation, it would from the fact that Jiro Tobikuma also failed to
advance in the Survival of the Fittest Tournament, losing to "Macho Man" Randy
Savage. As a result of the events of tonight and past weeks between these four
men, a match has been made for Survival of the Fittest, pitting the unlikely
pairing of Jiro Tobikuma and Arthur Justice against Steve "Mongo" McMichael and
Moy Lazzario.
After defeating Leslie Edwards in a Catfight tonight, Jennie has
accepted the challenge made by Christina Ellis, putting the VCW T & A Title on
the line at Survival of the Fittest in a Bikini Top Stripoff Match, where the
first woman to rip off the other's bikini top is the winner. One would expect
that this will be quite a spectacle, but considering that Christina Ellis has a
history of failing to adhere to the stipulations of the matches in the VCW T &
A division, it's possible that the results we see may not be the ones that we
would like.
After insulting his sister Melissa, Lady Erica Whitmore, and Falcon,
Neytron DelArmeggio called out his opponent in the second round of the Survival
of the Fittest Tournament, David Wright Hubbard, and had the nerve to slap him
across the face. David Wright Hubbard responded by beating the crap out of
Neytron DelArmeggio, and seemed to be on his way to winning the match before
Stacey Lockman distracted the referee and Neytron pulled out a pair of brass
knuckles, which he used to attack David Wright Hubbard. After laying him out
with the knuckles and a Piledriver, Neytron seemed to be well on his way to
stealing the match, when Falcon came to the ring, laid out Neytron, and put
David Wright Hubbard on top for the victory. As a result, David Wright Hubbard
goes on to the semi-finals of the Survival of the Fittest Tournament, and
Neytron DelArmeggio is out. Neytron will still be at the pay-per-view, however;
as a result of tonight's events, he will face Falcon one-on-one at Survival of
the Fittest.
The Annihilators aren't looking too much like a cohesive, functional
team going into their match this Sunday with Bass Rogers and his mystery
partner. Tonight, Brian Rivera's incompetence caused the Annihilators to lose
once again, when he ignored a possible pin on Jacob Idol to start kissing
Jasmina Ecstacy, only to be rolled up for a quick pin by Jacob Idol.
Considering that Bass Rogers is looking more impressive than ever with a
decisive victory over Ken Collins, one-half of the VCW World Tag Team
Champions, the Annihilators had better get their act together in a hurry if
they want to be successful this Sunday.
Once again, Jimmy Lockman has screwed Virginia out of a chance at
earning a shot at the VCW World Title. This time, he did it by interfering in
her match with Julian Page in the Survival of the Fittest Tournament, hitting
her in the back with his cane as the referee had his back turned and causing
her to stumble into a DDT from Julian Page, which resulted in her loss in that
match. Julian Page advances in the Survival of the Fittest Tournament, which
now looks like this:

After a brief pause in which Troy Black beat the hell out of Ruby
Richard Cage, Jimmy Lockman was back to gloat about his role in screwing
Virginia out of the tournament, and to give DeJohnnyration X an additional
stumbling block in the form of sending the Manhunters to take on Johnny Smiles
and Virginia this Sunday on pay-per-view. Johnny Smiles came out to try to earn
a measure of revenge, but ended up on the losing end of the match when Jimmy
Lockman moved out of the way of a plancha, causing Johnny to knock himself out
on the guardrail. After that, it was a simple matter for Jimmy Lockman to roll
him back into the ring, and finish him off when he was pinned in the Figure-
Four Leglock. Jimmy Lockman will take on Tattoo this Sunday, while Virginia and
Johnny will face Jimmy Lockman's hired muscle, the Manhunters, in a tag team
match.
In a mere six days, that and much more will take place at Survival of
the Fittest. You won't want to miss any of the exciting action in the
tournament, the Iron Cage Axe Handle Match, or any of the other heated contests
taking place at this pay-per-view. Make sure you join us this Sunday, as VCW
presents Survival of the Fittest, live on pay-per-view!!
