Match observations:

After a night that saw Troy Black and David Wright Hubbard emerge
victorious in two of the toughest, most important matches of their careers, and
that saw Melissa DelArmeggio's career once again open up before her, tonight
was a much different, darker night. Beginning with Neytron's comments during
his announcement that he was the number-one contender for the VCW World Title
and a match made by Jimmy Lockman pitting Troy, Melissa, and David Wright
Hubbard against Tony Garcia, Julian Page, and Randy Savage, a trap was woven
that spelled disaster for the three people who appeared to leave Survival of
the Fittest with the brightest futures.
The opening match of tonight's, pitting Arthur Justice against Russel
Taylor, went pretty much as expected. The real story is what happened after the
match, when Johnny Smiles came to the ring and offered Arthur Justice a spot in
DeJohnnyration X, and a T-shirt to go along with it. Arthur Justice seemed to
accept, only to turn and attack Johnny Smiles, laying him out with the
Justifier. It would seem that some of the feelings from the System's feud with
DeJohnnyration X remain with Arthur Justice; either that, or perhaps he just
felt like beating up Johnny tonight.
Two friends of DeJohnnyration X, the Heavy Metal Express, had another
successful match tonight after their debut last night at Survival of the
Fittest. Tonight, they took on the Middle-Aged Outlaws, and won. While it can
be said that the Heavy Metal Express has won their first two matches in VCW so
far, neither of those matches have been against top-level tag teams. When they
start facing tougher competition, the real test will come.
Life hasn't exactly been easy for John Uldwall, formerly known as "Rock"
in the Wrecking Crew. Not only has his tag team partner, Blade, gone down with
a hip injury, but the threat of WWF legal action forces him to stop using the
"Rock" name. His opponent tonight, Main Street Pete, decided rather foolishly
to antagonize him, and ended up taking one heck of a beating before losing the
match. John Uldwall, by any name, is not someone you want to make mad.
Stiff Competition, the newly-formed tag team of Bass Rogers and Dean
Sanders, is already off to one hell of a start. Not only did they defeat the
Annihilators in what will probably go down as their last match together last
night, but they also defeated the Immortals, the VCW World Tag Team Champions,
by disqualification tonight. The pinfall victory seemed academic after Bass
Rogers hit the Moonsault, but Jacob Idol and Rob Solomon put the match to a
quick stop by entering the ring with a chair and the hockey stick, and laying
out all four participants. Afterwards, they claimed that their victory over the
Ontario Color Show entitles them to the first shot at the VCW World Tag Team
Titles. While it's true that Jacob Idol and Rob Solomon did defeat the Ontario
Color Show last night, there's no disputing that their victory was earned with
illegal blows from the hockey stick, not legal wrestling tactics.
There have been a lot of returns to VCW over the past month, and most of
them have been appreciated by the fans. One that occurred tonight, however, was
not. Stormy Weathers made an obnoxious, unwelcome return to VCW, as Brian
Rivera's manager. Brian Rivera proceeded to come to the ring dressed as though
he couldn't decide whether he wanted to be a lumberjack or a pimp, and made a
complete ass of himself before Falcon came out to wrestle him. Falcon won by
disqualification when Stormy Weathers attacked him with his ugly stick, but he
was on the receiving end of a beating until Jeff Wright, Brian Rivera's former
partner in the Annihilators, ran in to save him. Based on what we've just seen,
it's clear that Jeff Wright would like a little revenge after Brian Rivera's
actions last night.
Though their victory over the Ontario Color Show last night was under
questionable circumstances, there was nothing questionable about the way the
Hammer of the Gods won tonight's three-way nine-man match against Hell's Bikers
and the Ontario Color Show and Devaccio Pola. Teaming with Neytron DelArmeggio
and Rob Solomon, Jacob Idol picked up the victory for his team with the
Moonsault Bodyblock on Dick Douglas. The combination of Jacob Idol and Rob
Solomon is a legitimately good tag team, even if their tactics may be a little
underhanded most of the time. If they do get the VCW World Tag Team Title shot
they seek, the Immortals had better be ready for a tough wrestling match.
Lance Errington and Jiro Tobikuma met tonight to determine who the next
challenger for Julian Page's titles would be. The title shot was scheduled to
go to the winner of this match... which is a problem, because it turns out that
there was no winner in this match. Jiro Tobikuma and Lance Errington wrestled
for thirty solid minutes, but neither one managed to pull out a victory over
the other. What this means in terms of who will challenge for Julian Page's
title is still unknown. Perhaps one of the VCW co-commissioners will shed some
light on the situation at next week's show.
Jimmy Lockman, using his half of the commissioner's authority, certainly
did enough damage tonight anyway. It seemed relatively normal when he made a
match pitting Troy Black, David Wright Hubbard, and Melissa DelArmeggio against
Tony Garcia, Julian Page, and Randy Savage... but we found out otherwise when
Neytron DelArmeggio and Gabriel Black entered the situation. In the post-match
beating that ensued, Troy Black received four Piledrivers from Neytron, as well
as a Spike Piledriver by Julian Page and Neytron, and the Flying Elbowdrop from
Randy Savage. Melissa not only took the Piledriver from her own brother, and
Randy Savage's Flying Elbowdrop, but was also given the Destiny Driver by
Gabriel Black, after Neytron requested it. David Wright Hubbard, in contrast,
was only hit with one move after the match; the bad news is that that one move
lasted for well over a minute, as Tony Garcia put David Wright Hubbard in the
Torture Rack and refused to let go. All three of the victims in this attack are
seriously injured, though how seriously is not yet known.
Next week, we hope to learn more about what the effects of this assault
were on Troy Black, Melissa DelArmeggio, and David Wright Hubbard, and what the
consequences will be for everyone involved. In addition, many of VCW's top
stars will be present, including Johnny Smiles, Virginia, Falcon, and many
more. Don't miss a minute of the exciting action on next week's edition of VCW
Monday Night Wrestling!
