Match observations:

VCW's next pay-per-view event, Horror Show, is one week closer than it
was last week, but as some of the matches to be expected for the show are
becoming more clear, other matches, specifically in the main events, are now
coming into question due to rulings handed down from Virginia and injuries
caused by last week's brutal attack on David Wright Hubbard, Troy Black, and
Melissa DelArmeggio. Between appearances by newcomers to VCW, career-affecting
decisions, and two titles changing hands in the course of tonight's show, there
was a lot happening in VCW tonight.
John Uldwall wasn't at the arena tonight, and it's probably a good thing
for Dick Douglas, who decided to remind everyone that Hell's Bikers were
responsible for injuring John Uldwall's partner Blade, then went on to threaten
John Uldwall with the same fate if he returns to VCW. But if there's one thing
we've learned about John Uldwall from his days in the Wrecking Crew, it's that
he won't be intimidated. Dick Douglas's mouth may have brought more trouble on
Hell's Bikers than they're willing to handle.
The Heavy Metal Express's winning streak has come to a rather
unimpressive end tonight, after they were defeated by "Doctor" Dave Adams and
Main Street Pete. At this rate, Marty Jannetty and Lars Coverdale have a long
way to go to get to the top of VCW, especially with the tag team division
heating up so much right now. Then again, being close friends with Johnny
Smiles, who is himself a close friend of the VCW World Tag Team Champions, the
Immortals, and the co-commissioner of VCW, Virginia, doesn't exactly hurt their
chances of getting a title shot in the near future.
Devaccio Pola's match with Russel "The Muscle" Taylor appeared to be
nothing more than an easy night for Devaccio Pola, but nobody could have
expected what happened during that match. Salvaje Demonio, a masked newcomer to
VCW, came to the ring and attacked Devaccio Pola. As the attack took place,
Stormy Weathers came to the ring to reveal that Salvaje Demonio was his new
"weapon of destruction", and that this attack was meant as a demonstration of
what he was capable of. Salvaje Demonio left Devaccio Pola a bloody mess, laid
out in the middle of the ring, but this was after an attack from behind. It
remains to be seen what will happen when he comes face to face with Devaccio
Pola in the ring. Knowing that Devaccio Pola isn't going to ignore an attack
like this, it's a question of when, not if, they'll meet in the ring again.
After a rather depressing series of losses recently, the Ontario Color
Show is back on track after accepting a challenge by Moy Lazzario and Steve
"Mongo" McMichael tonight, and going on to win the match. Moy Lazzario and
Steve McMichael are a promising new tag team, and they've been fairly
successful since their initial alliance, but tonight they ran into a stumbling
block and found out just exactly why the Ontario Color Show is often referred
to as the best tag team ever in VCW.
After winning the VCW T & A Title at Survival of the Fittest, Christina
Ellis came out tonight and renamed it the VCW True Women's Achievement Title.
Despite this somewhat sappy and long-winded name for the title, and the fact
that Christina Ellis was now defending it in wrestling matches, not T & A
matches, there was a challenger willing to step up and compete for the title.
The segment of ridiculous renaming continued, as Jasmina Ecstacy, apparently
having seen the error of her ways, renamed herself Jasmina Chastity (yes,
surprisingly, it was spelled right) and challenged Christina for the title. The
match was every bit as one-sided as one might expect, but after the title
defense, Jennie came to ringside, laid out both of her opponents with a chair,
and tried to strip Christina Ellis. Christina narrowly managed to preserve her
modesty by covering her chest with her arms as the top of her singlet was torn
down, but it was still obviously an extremely embarrassing moment. As Christina
retreated, Jennie challenged her to a wrestling match at Horror Show... and as
much as Jennie might be able to learn in the way of wrestling skill from the
other members of the Technicians, it would definitely seem that Christina Ellis
will be the heavy favorite in that match.
When Falcon and Jeff Wright called out Brian Rivera and a partner, it
was expected that Brian Rivera's partner would be either Stormy Weathers or the
newly introduced Salvaje Demonio. Instead, it was "Macho Man" Randy Savage, and
that may have made the difference in the outcome of the match, as Brian Rivera
and Randy Savage emerged victorious, thanks to Savage dropping the Flying
Elbowdrop on Jeff Wright for the win. While previously Stormy Weathers was
known for managing groups of laughably incompetent wrestlers, he may have
finally changed that; he seemed to have plenty of success tonight.
Amidst all of the other chaos of tonight's show, the match pitting
Johnny Smiles, Tattoo, and Virginia against Jimmy Lockman and the Manhunters
seemed almost to be an afterthought. Tattoo defeated one of the Manhunters with
a choke slam to win the match, but it goes without saying that the issues
between Jimmy Lockman, Tattoo, and DeJohnnyration X are still far from over.
As punishment for his role in the vicious beating at the end of last
week's show, Julian Page was forced to defend both of his titles against Lance
Errington and Jiro Tobikuma in a Triple Threat Match tonight. He tried to back
out of that match, intending to lose via countout, but Virginia caught him at
the top of the entrance ramp and physically hauled him to the ring, where he
proceeded to do battle with Lance Errington and Jiro Tobikuma. After eighteen
and a half minutes and a tiger suplex from Jiro Tobikuma, Julian Page's
shoulders went down for the three-count, making Jiro Tobikuma the new VCW
Intercontinental Champion and VCW Television Champion, and taking those two
titles away from Julian Page for the first time since May of this year.
Ever since his role in last week's attack, Neytron DelArmeggio has been
making enemies at a remarkable rate. In addition to antagonizing Virginia
tonight when she came out to administer punishments for last week's events, he
also seems to have lost any respect Stacey Lockman had for him. Then, in the
main event, he made enemies of two of his accomplices in last week's beating,
Gabriel Black and Tony Garcia. This match had high stakes from the beginning,
since Virginia had decreed that the winner would get a title shot in the event
that Troy Black was able to compete at Horror Show, and the loser would never
recieve a VCW World Title shot again. It was a must-win situation for both men.
Despite promising a fair match in which the best man would win, Neytron
went back on his word. After a suspicious-looking "accident" in which Neytron
knocked down referee Linda Peterson, Neytron tried to knock Tony Garcia out
with his own wooden axe handle. Tony Garcia shrugged off the blows, however,
and snatched the wooden axe handle away from Neytron. Overcome with rage at
Neytron as a result of the double-cross, Tony Garcia nailed Neytron with a shot
from the wooden axe handle. Unfortunately, he did it just as VCW referee Linda
Peterson recovered, and was disqualified. Neytron won the match, but nearly
suffered the same fate as his sister Melissa at the hands of the enraged
Gabriel Black and Tony Garcia before the timely intervention of Julian Page.
Little is known about what we can expect of next week's show. Updates
concerning the condition of David Wright Hubbard, Troy Black, and Melissa
DelArmeggio are expected, and if Troy Black is unable to compete for a great
length of time, a decision will be made regarding the status of the VCW World
Title. Whatever next week's show brings, it's a good bet that you won't want to
miss it. Make sure you join us for next week's edition of VCW Monday Night
Wrestling!
