Match observations:

One night after Horror Show, major changes in the power structure of VCW
are already brewing. Virginia is the new VCW Commissioner, and it wasn't
unexpected that a change in management policy from the old regime would be
announced tonight. But with Gabriel Black announcing his intentions to return
to the ring at Spontaneous Combustion and face Troy Black and the bad blood
between Tony Garcia and Randy Savage and David Wright Hubbard still not over,
some of the other announcements and events that took place tonight seemed to
overshadow even the change in VCW management.
Jorge Gonzalez and Ron Reese made their official VCW wrestling debut
tonight, squashing the team of Russel "The Muscle" Taylor and the Super Giant
Ninja. The Super Giant Ninja, who had previously been the biggest man in VCW up
to now, wasn't the biggest or even the second-biggest man in the ring tonight,
as Jorge Gonzalez and Ron Reese both proved to be slightly larger than him. The
match was, of course, no contest whatsoever, but that can be expected when
Russel Taylor and the Super Giant Ninja are involved. The same is true of the
match between the Middle-Aged Outlaws and the Manhunters.
Likewise, one would have assumed that the team of "Doctor" Dave Adams
and Main Street Pete would have been dominated by Stiff Competition, given that
their record of past success has been sporadic at best. But instead, Stiff
Competition was left laid out in the middle of the ring after Dave Adams and
Main Street Pete attacked them with chairs and a little help from Nurse
Vivacia. Tonight, they walked away looking pretty pleased with themselves...
but when Bass Rogers and Dean Sanders catch up to them, they might not be happy
with the consequences they'll be facing.
Jorge Gonzalez and Ron Reese interrupted the match taking place between
Devaccio Pola and Brian Rivera tonight, obviously intending to continue the
beating they started last night. But Salvaje Demonio came running out of the
backstage area, wielding a chair, and with chairshots and high-flying moves
galore, Salvaje Demonio and Devaccio Pola managed to run off Stormy Weathers
and his henchmen, coming out on top of the ensuing brawl. Obviously, that isn't
the outcome that Stormy Weathers was expecting, and it's probably pretty likely
that both sides of this growing feud will have more to say and do before it's
over.
Arthur Justice was asked by Virginia to wrestle "Pretty Boy" Jimmy
Lockman tonight, and he grudgingly agreed, while Jimmy Lockman was more than
ready to face Arthur Justice after he threatened to hurt Stacey Lockman last
night. Arthur Justice's inexperience was a big downfall for him, and Jimmy
Lockman was taking him apart throughout most of the match... until Arthur
Justice grabbed a lead pipe and knocked Jimmy Lockman out with it, then
attacked him after the match. The H.A.R.P. Squad made no effort to break up the
attack; in fact, they prevented the Manhunters from getting involved. It's hard
to say that Jimmy Lockman didn't deserve a certain amount of what he got
tonight, but Arthur Justice's actions tonight were of questionable popularity,
to say the least.
After going through nearly a half-hour and beating three teams to win
the titles last night, Jacob Idol and Rob Solomon solidified their position as
VCW World Tag Team Champions tonight by beating the Immortals cleanly in the
middle of the ring. The real story here, however, is that there appears to be a
rift forming between the Immortals and the rest of DeJohnnyration X, and
possibly even within the Immortals. Neither of them were exactly pleased over
the inclusion of Arthur Justice in the group, and Ken Collins seemed a little
more put off than usual by their loss tonight. It may be a little premature to
begin questioning the future of the team, but obviously all's not well with the
Immortals right now.
With all of the questionable ethical problems and apparent turmoil in
DeJohnnyration X right now, Johnny Smiles remained as oblivious as ever when he
came out to challenge Troy Black for the VCW World Title. Troy Black talked
about Neytron, and about Gabriel's challenge and the doubts circulating among
many fans that he can defeat Gabriel a second time, but then Johnny showed up.
Johnny had a World Title match tonight due to a favor granted by VCW
Commissioner Virginia, but that seemed to be merely a passing concern on his
mind at the time. Instead, he focused on trying to make Troy Black laugh,
eventually succeeding by running at him and tickling him. Perhaps he should
have focused on developing a strategy to win the title instead, as he was
soundly defeated by Troy Black in the ensuing match.
After Tony Garcia literally begging him for one more match tonight,
David Wright Hubbard agreed to face him again, and the match was on. David
Wright Hubbard seemed to be well on his way to beating Tony Garcia, giving out
the sort of malicious beating that he's become known for, when Randy Savage
came in and nailed him with the wooden axe handle. Tony Garcia and Randy Savage
double-teamed David Wright Hubbard after the disqualification, and when Falcon
ran in to try to help, he was attacked as well. Finally, the appearance of
Lance Errington was enough to tip the odds against Tony Garcia and Randy
Savage, who were forced to retreat.
Next week's show will be interesting to see how the impending return of
Gabriel Black and Virginia's permanent position as VCW Commissioner will effect
the state of affairs in VCW. In addition, many top stars such as the Ontario
Color Show, John Uldwall, Melissa DelArmeggio, VCW Television Champion Jiro
Tobikuma, and VCW Intercontinental Champion Julian Page will be present and in
action. Make sure that you join us next week for another action-filled,
exciting edition of VCW Monday Night Wrestling!!
