Match observations:

Tonight, VCW returned to the VCW Arena after nearly three months. With
Halloween drawing very near, and Spontaneous Combustion drawing nearer and
nearer as well, it seemed highly likely that we would see things tonight that
run contrary to the normal state of affairs in VCW. When the events of
tonight's show unfolded, that's exactly what happened, and we witnessed many
unusual occurances throughout the evening.
After Melissa DelArmeggio defeated Russel "The Muscle" Taylor, she gave
some insight on her upcoming loser-leaves-VCW match with her brother, Neytron
DelArmeggio. This brought Neytron out, but not in the manner that we expected.
He came out dressed like, and acting like, Razor Ramon, the character portrayed
by Scott Hall in the WWF during much of the past decade. A fight broke out
between the two, and Neytron revealed his costume to be useful for more than
just bringing about legal trouble between the WWF and VCW by decking Melissa
with his gold chains wrapped around his fist, knocking her out. He then added
insult to injury by executing the Razor's Edge, and throwing his toothpick at
her fallen body. In all seriousness, this looks bad for Melissa. If she can be
taken down so easily on a night when it appears Neytron is just goofing off,
what chance does she stand against her bigger, stronger, and vastly more
technically-skilled brother when he is focused on the confrontation? And with
his career on the line, there's no doubt that Neytron will be focused at
Spontaneous Combustion.
Tonight, we saw the Immortals break up, remaining friends while ending
their days as a tag team. Robert Danson and Nicole went one way, while Ken
Collins went another. Each found success tonight on their own, as Robert Danson
picked up a victory over Butch Manson, in addition to helping John Uldwall
fight off a three-on-one attack, and Ken Collins scored what has to be
considered a huge upset over Neytron DelArmeggio. Both of the Immortals are
talented athletes, and it's no surprise that they're successful... but it's a
little unexpected that they would split so abruptly, then quickly succeed in
such major challenges.
Moy Lazzario and Steve "Mongo" McMichael scored a huge victory tonight
over Stiff Competition, thanks to the outside interference of "Doctor" Dave
Adams and Main Street Pete. As expected, Bass Rogers and Dean Sanders were
furious at losing this match, but fortunately for Moy Lazzario and Mongo they
decided to vent their anger by chasing Dave Adams and Main Street Pete. But Moy
Lazzario and Steve McMichael didn't get off scot free by any means; the Ontario
Color Show came to the ring and jumped them, obviously retaliating for what
happened when Moy Lazzario and Steve "Mongo" McMichael cost them the number-one
contenders match against the Heavy Metal Express. If anything can be learned
from this, it's that Dave Adams and Main Street Pete seem to have no regard for
their own physical well-being, and that the Ontario Color Show plan on exacting
a little more revenge from Moy Lazzario and Steve McMichael before it's all
said and done.
Later on in the show, the Ontario Color Show teamed up with Jennie and
Jessica Judd to face Rob Solomon, Jacob Idol, Jasmina Chastity, and Christina
Ellis. Like all members of the Hammer of the Gods, Rob Solomon, Jacob Idol, and
Jasmina Chastity were dressed as other wrestlers, with Rob Solomon and Jacob
Idol disguised as Irwin R. Schyster and Ted DiBiase of the early 90's WWF tag
team Money Incorporated, and Jasmina Chastity disguised as Mankind. Despite the
whimsical costumes, Jacob Idol and Rob Solomon remained as cunning and ruthless
as ever, and won the match when Rob Solomon nearly tore Jennie's head off with
a lariat and pinned her in the middle of the ring.
Later on in the evening, Julian Page performed a laughably bad Hulk
Hogan imitation in a fitting costume, completing the Halloween pagentry of the
Hammer of the Gods. While his imitation of Hulk Hogan left something to be
desired, however, his wrestling didn't; he outwrestled Jeff Wright in a rather
impressive fashion. In fitting with the gimmick of his Halloween costume, after
hitting Jeff Wright with the DDT, he finished him off with the Big Leg Drop,
Hulk Hogan style, to retain the Intercontinental Title. Julian Page is
continuing to look impressive in the ring, while it's appearing that Jeff
Wright simply isn't with the program since the breakup of the Annihilators.
While leaving with Arthur Justice to try out the hot tub in their hotel
room, Virginia left Johnny Smiles and the Heavy Metal Express with the task of
facing "Pretty Boy" Jimmy Lockman and the Manhunters tonight. Before that match
took place, Jimmy Lockman tried to convince Johnny Smiles that Virginia was
being unfaithful. It isn't surprising that Johnny didn't believe a word of
it... typically, Virginia being dishonest and Jimmy Lockman being honest hasn't
been the norm for VCW. In fact, if the information affected Johnny at all, it
didn't show, as later on in the evening he and the Heavy Metal Express defeated
Jimmy Lockman and the Manhunters. Though they won the right to challenge for
the VCW World Tag Team Titles on a fluke, the Heavy Metal Express showed with
their victory over the Manhunters tonight that the idea of them beating Jacob
Idol and Rob Solomon isn't as ludicrous as had been thought.
Fitting with the rest of the unusual circumstances, the main event was
anything but typical of VCW main events... it didn't have much in the way of
backstory or history between the combatants, just four men trying to earn a
victory as VCW World Champion Troy Black teamed up with the man that is
scheduled to face him (should he still be the champion) at Wrestlewar, David
Wright Hubbard, to face Big Trouble, the monstrous duo of Jorge Gonzalez and
Ron Reese, managed by Stormy Weathers. Unfortunately, this match didn't have
much in the way of impressive wrestling action either, with the slow, lumbering
duo of Reese and Gonzalez. Despite the fact that it appears rather likely that
they'll meet at Wrestlewar for the VCW World Title, David Wright Hubbard and
Troy Black worked well together tonight, earning a victory over the two big men
in a hard-fought tag team match. But Jorge Gonzalez and Ron Reese put up an
impressive fight, proving that they're a force to be reckoned with in addition
to being stiff as boards and slower than molasses in January.
Next week, many of VCW's top stars will join us as the action continues
and Spontaneous Combustion draws nearer. Falcon, Lance Errington, Randy Savage,
Tony Garcia, VCW Television Champion Jiro Tobikuma and many others are expected
to be present and in action at next week's show. Make sure you're with us too,
and don't forget to remember to catch next week's action-filled edition of VCW
Monday Night Wrestling!!
