Monday Night Wrestling 07/02/01 (VCW 127)

Welcome to VCW Monday Night Wrestling, coming to you live from the Atlantic City Convention Center in New Jersey! We've got a big show on hand, with three big matches already signed. Owen Addison and Tim Bell of the Technicians will team up and challenge Jack Norman and Butch Manson of Hell's Bikers for the VCW World Tag Team Titles, and "The California Crippler" Ken Collins and Falcon will team up to face "The Barcelona Assassin" Lorenzo Vasquez and Lance Errington tonight! In addition to that, Julian Page will go one-on-one with Crimson tonight! We don't really know what else to expect...

But wait a second! "I, Zombie (Europe In The Raw Mix)" by White Zombie begins playing, and the crowd explodes into boos as Tony Garcia comes out of the backstage entrance! He begins walking to the ring briskly, and he doesn't look happy. Last time we saw him, he was pinned by the Grave Digger in a tag team match last week... could this have anything to do with that!? He climbs inside the ring and grabs a microphone, without wasting any time.

T. Garcia: All right, people... we're about to have some problems. Back in the back... they're trying to chew ME out for losing last week, for getting pinned by the Grave Digger. The Black Plague doesn't think I can cut the mustard these days. They think I'm getting old and washed up. Well, let me tell you something, kids... I may be the oldest man on the roster, but I'm also the baddest man on the roster, and every last son of a bitch backstage knows it.

The crowd boos, but evidently Tony Garcia's loss last week didn't sit well with the Black Plague. There's clearly some dissention going on in their ranks.

T. Garcia: And everyone else is getting in these little two-bit worthless matches tonight. You've got Lorenzo in a tag team match for no good reason. Troy Black's gonna be in a match with six women and Desmond tonight. Brujah's defending his title against some punk kid. Ain't NONE of this getting a damn thing accomplished. So that's why I'm out here... I'm gonna show everybody who the baddest man in VCW is, and put the Black Plague back on the map... if the Grave Digger has the guts to do it one more time, I'm calling him out for a title match right here, TONIGHT!

The crowd cheers for that challenge... that's been a pay-per-view main event lately, and Tony Garcia wants that match tonight! He paces in the ring for a few seconds before continuing.

T. Garcia: Digger... you listen to me, and you listen good. I've been in this business for twenty-five years... that's more than twice what you've got on your record. I may not be no seven feet two inches tall or four hundred pounds, but the trail of broken bodies I left on barroom floors and in hospital beds during those twenty-five years speaks for itself. But here... just in these past two years or so, you've gotten more than I have in my career. You've been a World Champion in two organizations. I was VCW World Champion for ONE DAY.

See, in my career, I haven't been getting these handouts. And I've always busted my ass day in and day out, working for it... I haven't ever asked for any kind of handouts. But that's gonna change tonight. Because right now, Digger... I'm asking you for one more match, for the VCW World Title, tonight. I'm... no. No, wait.

Tony Garcia steps into the middle of the ring, then drops down on his knees.

T. Garcia: Look at me, Digger... I'm on my knees. I'm down on my knees, BEGGING you for one more shot at the title. Right here, tonight, you give me one more chance, one more shot at the title, and I GUARANTEE you that I'm gonna knock you on your big ass, boy.

Tony Garcia seems desperate to get this title shot, and if he wins this would redeem him in the eyes of the Black Plague, without a doubt... but now "Wait And Bleed" by Slipknot begins playing, and here comes the VCW World Champion, the Grave Digger! The crowd erupts into cheers as the Grave Digger steps out on the ramp, wearing the VCW World Title and carrying a microphone... he could be here to accept!

G. Digger: If you've been around so long, you've been around long enough to know that times change. Back in your time, a World Title wasn't the sort of thing that you defend any given week on TV... but it isn't your time any more. I'm the champion, and it's my time. And if you want a title match on my time, you've got it.

Wow... he accepted! The Grave Digger will defend the VCW World Title one-on-one, against Tony Garcia, tonight! Tony Garcia seems glad to hear that, but the Grave Digger's not through yet...

G. Digger: But you just remember that. It's not your time any more... it's my time. I've got respect for where you've been... but this is about where you're going right now. It doesn't matter what you've been doing for the past twenty-five years. Let's see what you can do today.

Tony Garcia stares down the aisle at the Grave Digger for a second, then raises the microphone.

T. Garcia: Boy, if you want to see what I can do, just walk yourself right down to the ring, and we'll find out.

The Grave Digger throws down the microphone and begins heading to the ring, and the crowd cheers loudly! But the H.A.R.P. Squad quickly begins pouring out of the backstage entrance, trying to hold him back, much to the crowd's chagrin! The Grave Digger shoves them away at first, but as more of them come out to block his progress and keep the two men seperate, he stops resisting, and instead just stares down the aisle into the ring at Tony Garcia. We've got quite a match set up for tonight, at any rate... but first, we're going to cut away to a scene backstage, where a camera is on Brujah and Jennie! Let's go to that now...

Backstage...

Jennie is sitting on a sofa backstage, when Brujah walks into the room, wearing the VCW Television Title and carrying a rose.

Jennie: Hi.

Brujah: Hey.

Jennie looks up, and a smile comes to her face as she sees the rose.

Jennie: Is that for me?

Brujah: Yeah. I just couldn't help thinking of you today. Now that we're past that little issue of me working with Lorenzo, things are gonna look up. I promise.

Brujah hands Jennie the rose and sits down beside her on the sofa.

Jennie: Thanks Brujah... I really appreciate it.

Suddenly, Sophie darts into the room and snatches the rose out of Jennie's grasp.

Sophie: Nyaah ha!!

Sophie throws the rose down on the ground and stomps on it repeatedly, crushing the petals, as Jennie and Brujah stare in disbelief. Sophie picks up the crushed rose petals and puts them in a plastic bag, but Brujah gets up and shoves her back against the wall angrily.

Brujah: What the hell's your problem, bitch!?

Sophie cowers against the wall, trying to explain as her voice trembles in fear.

Sophie: Um... well, you see, I kinda needed some crushed rose petals as ingredients for a magic spell--

Brujah: Yeah, right. I oughtta beat the hell out of you for that--

Gavin: Hey! Unhand Princess Sophia, you ruffian!

Gavin, the Prince of Cats, rushes into the scene and begins trying to pull Brujah away from Sophie, but Brujah just turns and clobbers him with a massive lariat. Gavin collapses to the floor, and Sophie rushes to his side, concerned.

Sophie: Gavin!!

Brujah: Come on... get up, jackass. I'll slap that stupid costume right off of your head.

Jennie gets up and goes to Brujah's side, trying to hold him back.

Jennie: Come on, it's not worth hurting somebody for this!

Brujah doesn't seem quite so eager to drop the issue, but at Jennie's urging he steps away.

Brujah: Get up and get the hell out of here, both of you, before I change my mind.

Gavin gets to his feet slowly with Sophie's help, glaring at Brujah.

Gavin: You're fortunate that I've vowed not to use my powers against innocent civilians. And if you ever threaten Princess Sophia again--

Brujah: Save it, Garfield. I don't buy it. You can walk out of here, or the medics can carry you out. Your call.

Gavin glares at Brujah for a second longer, then turns to leave with Sophie.

Gavin: Let us be gone, Princess Sophia.

Sophie: At least we got the rose petals now.

Gavin and Sophie leave the room, as Brujah returns to the sofa with Jennie, still seeming bothered by what happened.

Brujah: Sorry about that.

Jennie: Don't worry. It's just a rose. It's the feeling behind it that counts.

Brujah: I guess. It still makes me mad. If she tried that with Troy and Amy, neither one of them would've made it out of the room.

Jennie: Or if she tried that with Lorenzo and Rebecca. Remember what they did to Stacey. A little restraint's not always a bad thing.

Brujah: Yeah... well, at least that business is behind me now. I don't have to deal with it.

Jennie: That's good. You know how I feel about him by now.

Brujah: What I was going to say before we got interrupted... things are going to get better now. I can do my job, and I don't have to deal with Lorenzo if it makes you unhappy. It's all business from here, like my match with Dave Adams tonight.

Jennie seems ready to say something in reply, but the locker room door opens again, and this time Troy Black steps inside.

T. Black: Not interrupting anything, am I?

Brujah looks to Jennie, then back to Troy Black.

Brujah: No. Of course not. What's up?

T. Black: You know we have problems. A lot of them. You know about the issue with Tony... but don't worry about that. I'll handle it personally if it comes to that. But there's a different problem. There's something else that I need you to do.

Brujah: No problem. Anything you want... I can handle it.

T. Black: I signed a match at Blood and Thunder for you... against Desmond. And I'm counting on you to make an example out of him, to utterly annihilate any threat he might pose. I don't think I need to tell you what that entails.

Brujah flinches in shock, then stares at Troy Black for a second.

T. Black: I'm counting on you here. It seems like you're the only one I can count on these days. And if you do this right... it won't go unrewarded.

Brujah: Yeah. Okay. I'll... get ready to take care of it, then.

T. Black: See that you do. This is important.

Troy Black turns and walks out of the room. When he's gone Brujah sighs and slumps back against the sofa.

Brujah: Damn it.

Jennie: Brujah... are you--

Brujah: I don't know. I don't want to talk about it right now.

Jennie: But--

Brujah: I said I don't want to talk about it right now.

Jennie: ... Okay.

Jennie looks at Brujah with concern, and an awkward silence fills the room as the camera fades out on the backstage scene.

Wow... we now know that Brujah has been set up to take out Desmond at Blood and Thunder. This is no ordinary match... Brujah and Desmond have been friends and teammates since before they came to VCW, dating back to their tenure in SMCW as the Illuminati. Understandably, Brujah's not one bit happy about being ordered to dispose of his friend and former teammmate here. Will he actually do it... or could we perhaps see the Illuminati reform against the Black Plague if he turns against these orders?

We won't know the answer to that for a while... but we're going to start with our opening match now! "Let's Get It On" by Marvin Gaye begins playing, and the crowd boos as "Double R" Rex Richards steps out of the backstage entrance, accompanied by Minako and Komachi. He made a special request for a rematch with Russel Taylor tonight, and he doesn't have his usual cocky demeanor as he comes to the ring. He even forgoes the posing, instead shrugging off his robe and calling for a microphone immediately... this is a different Rex Richards than we've seen previously.

R. Richards: I'm sick and tired of not getting any respect here! Look at me, damn it! I'm an international superstar, and all my scandalous bitches know karate! And if I don't beat this talentless gaijin loser, Russel Taylor, tonight... then I'm heading back to Japan, where the smart fans there actually RESPECT talented wrestlers like me!

The crowd boos. Rex Richards is a lot of things, including a powerful athlete... but calling him a talented wrestler is a bit of a stretch at times. But now "Holding Out For A Hero" by Bonnie Tyler begins playing over the arena sound system, and the crowd cheers as Russel "The Muscle" Taylor jogs out of the backstage entrance, then runs to the ring, slapping hands with fans in the aisles as he comes forward. He comes to the ring and slides inside, and Linda Peterson calls for the bell to begin this match!

Russel "The Muscle" Taylor

vs.

"Double R" Rex Richards
w/Minako & Komachi

They start out evenly matched, due to similar physical power and technical ability, but Russel Taylor kicks it into high gear and starts to take control with a burst of enthusiastic offense, before he's cut off by a rather careless trip from the outside from Komachi. Rex Richards starts clobbering Russel Taylor and trying to wear him down with restholds, but Russel Taylor fights his way out of a sleeperhold, then makes a comeback. He hits several clotheslines, then a power bomb for the three count.

Russel Taylor pinned Rex Richards with the Power Bomb in 0:02:21.
Rating: 1/4*

The crowd cheers, and Russel Taylor celebrates his win in the ring, then jogs backstage, slapping palms with the fans once again as he departs. In the ring, Rex Richards gets up and begins throwing a tantrum, and Minako and Komachi exchange a glance, then walk away, looking disgusted. Back in the ring, Rex Richards grabs a microphone.

R. Richards: That's it! Fuck VCW! I'm going back to Japan, where they actually appreciate me!! I've had it here!

The crowd cheers loudly, and begins a "GO AWAY!" chant for him.

R. Richards: SHUT UP!!

The chant only gets louder... and Rex Richards tosses aside the microphone and storms backstage, yelling at the fans as he passes them by in the aisles. Is this the last we'll see of Rex Richards? And if so, will anybody miss him? His record in VCW hasn't been too impressive, aside from a moderate bump shortly after his return.

We're going to jump straight ahead to our next match, and "Stormbringer" by Deep Purple begins playing, bringing out Chris Champlain to a huge round of boos. He stalks to the ring, shrouded in his black cloak, as always, then climbs inside and up to the top turnbuckle, where he throws off the cloak as he laughs maniacally. He turns back to await his opponent with an eager, predatory stare...

And now "Stuntman" by 24-7 Spyz begins playing, and here comes Tommy Hustle, his opponent tonight! For all that he's going up against a dangerous man here, Tommy Hustle doesn't seem too worried; he's confident and composed as usual. He may not know what he's in for, though. The crowd cheers as he comes to the ring and climbs inside, preparing to do battle with Chris Champlain, and Bobcat McGavin enters the ring and calls for the bell to begin the match!

Chris Champlain

vs.

Tommy Hustle

Tommy Hustle starts out strong, with some quick, impressive offense against Chris Champlain, but when Chris Champlain's able to take the advantage, Tommy Hustle ends up in serious trouble. Chris Champlain works over Tommy Hustle's right leg, perhaps trying to take away his high-flying offense, but perhaps also trying to simply cause pain. Tommy Hustle is clearly outmatched by Chris Champlain's killer instinct and ruthlessness, and though he tries to make a comeback later on, his injured leg slows him and enables Chris Champlain to cut him off. Shortly later, Chris Champlain applies a Texas Cloverleaf for the submission.

Chris Champlain made Tommy Hustle submit to a Texas Cloverleaf in 0:03:45.
Rating: * 3/4

Post-match, Chris Champlain doesn't release the Texas Cloverleaf... he keeps pulling back on the hold and causing more pain to Tommy Hustle! Bobcat McGavin begins admonishing him, but Chris Champlain doesn't seem to be listening! But... someone's coming out of the backstage entrance!! It's Russel "The Muscle" Taylor!! He runs to the ring and slides inside! Chris Champlain gets up and charges him, and Russel Taylor mows him down with a big clothesline! Chris Champlain gets up again and charges, and this time Russel Taylor scoops him up as he runs in, then tosses him down to the mat with a press slam! Chris Champlain gets up, and Russel Taylor runs at him, then knocks him out of the ring with a clothesline!!

Russel Taylor turns to work the crowd for a second, getting a round of cheers, then focuses on Chris Champlain as he calls for a microphone. We just saw him out here in the last segment, against Rex Richards... what could this be about?

R. Taylor: Listen, you mean old rascal, I'm not going to let you get away with hurting people any more! I don't see how you can actually cause people pain and enjoy it! That's just not right! I can't stand to see my fellow man suffering. It makes me sad. It makes me want to cry. But evil never prospers, and so now I'm here to punish you!

The crowd cheers, as Russel Taylor stares down the aisle at Chris Champlain... and Chris Champlain's laughing! Chris Champlain doubles over with laughter, slowly staggering towards the backstage area... and finally, he seems to regain his composure, but he continues to stare into the ring at Russel Taylor with a mirthful, demented grin for several seconds. Then, finally, Chris Champlain steps backstage, as Russel Taylor helps Tommy Hustle to his feet. For all that Russel Taylor has been successful against Rex Richards lately, Chris Champlain is another issue entirely... could Russel be picking a fight that he can't win?

We're going to go through to a third consecutive match, as Russel Taylor and Tommy Hustle head backstage together... now "Kashmir" by Led Zeppelin begins playing, bringing out Jacob Idol, accompanied by Jasmina Chastity. He'll be competing in a singles match tonight against Paul Canyon, since his tag team partner, Rob Solomon, will be laid up for a couple of months. He enters the ring, looking around at the crowd with disdain, then turns to the backstage entrance to await Paul Canyon. He's very familiar with Paul Canyon, there's no denying that.

Now "Magical Mystery Tour" by the Beatles begins playing, and that brings forth Paul Canyon! He seems a little worried and preoccupied as he comes to the ring. These days, he has no doubt the issues with Jennie and Brujah that have plagued him in the past on his mind, but also the fact that Owen Addison has declared that the Ontario Colour Show will no longer compete together as a tag team, a fact clearly outlined by tonight's VCW World Tag Team Title match, where Tim Bell is in Owen Addison's corner as his partner. So it's not surprising that he doesn't seem to have all of his focus on this match... but it could come back to seriously haunt him, knowing the capabilities of Jacob Idol. Jerry Rogers enters the ring and calls for the bell, and that'll begin this match!

Jacob Idol
w/Jasmina Chastity

vs.

Paul Canyon

Jacob Idol opens the match by trying to take Paul Canyon to the mat and keep him grounded, knowing Paul Canyon's ability to take to the air. He outwrestles Paul Canyon at first, but Paul Canyon seems to snap out of the haze that he's in as Jacob Idol takes the advantage, and he turns the tide with a series of quick takedowns. Paul Canyon gains the advantage, hitting Jacob Idol with a quick barrage of offense, including a flying cross bodypress to the floor when the match spills out of the ring. But seconds later, Jacob Idol sends Paul Canyon head-first into the ringpost to regain the advantage, then takes him back in the ring.

Inside, Jacob Idol starts wearing down Paul Canyon, trying once again to keep him grounded and immobile while Jacob Idol works him over on the mat. To further drain his strength and mobility, Jacob Idol starts working over Paul Canyon's abdomen, giving him repeated knees, elbows, and other blows to the midsection, as well as a pair of gutbusters. With Paul Canyon in trouble, Jacob Idol locks him in an abdominal stretch, then reaches to the outside to grab Jasmina's hands for illegal leverage. Paul Canyon struggles in the hold, but isn't able to break it until Jerry Rogers catches Jacob Idol cheating, then kicks his arm to break the illegal assist. Jacob Idol, stunned, gives Paul Canyon a momentary lapse from the pressure, and Paul Canyon hiptosses him down! Jacob Idol gets up and rushes with a clothesline, but Paul Canyon ducks, then nails him with a superkick!

Both men go down, and they get up slowly, but Paul Canyon gets up first and makes an offensive comeback, hitting a few nice moves despite his weakened abdominal muscles, including a piledriver that gets a near fall before Jacob Idol gets his foot on the ropes. Paul Canyon pulls Jacob Idol into the center of the ring, then goes up to the top and leaps off... MAGIC CARPET RIDE!! But he rolls over immediately, clutching his stomach... that move took a lot out of him too, after the damage done earlier by Jacob Idol! He rolls over for the cover after several seconds... but the time elapsed allows Jacob Idol to kick out at two and three-quarters! Paul Canyon begins climbing to the top turnbuckle again, undaunted... but as Jacob Idol complains about something to Jerry Rogers, Jasmina Chastity climbs up to the apron and shakes the ropes! Paul Canyon falls crotch-first on the turnbuckles, facing the crowd... and Jasmina Chastity hops down as Jacob Idol climbs up after him, then hooks him... IDOLIZER!! That's the top-rope inverted DDT that we've seen him use earlier in his career, and he just knocked Paul Canyon OUT with it! He puts a foot on his chest to cover, and the three count is academic after that move.

Jacob Idol pinned Paul Canyon with the Idolizer in 0:07:46.
Rating: *** 1/2

Jacob Idol has just defeated Paul Canyon, and the crowd boos loudly. Jasmina Chastity enters the ring, reaching into her cleavage, and she pulls out a pair of brass knuckles, then hands them to Jacob Idol. He puts them on... but for God's sake, he's already won the match, and Paul Canyon is out cold! Jacob Idol crouches over Paul Canyon, hammering him in the head and face with the knuckles repeatedly, as the crowd's boos get even louder... this is just excessive!

But hold on... Tim Bell's running out of the back, and he has a chair!! He slides into the ring, and Jacob Idol turns and rushes him... but runs right into a shot from the chair! Jasmina Chastity screams and bails out of the ring, as Jacob Idol rolls to the outside, clutching his head in pain, and Tim Bell stands guard over Paul Canyon as the crowd cheers loudly! As Jacob Idol and Jasmina Chastity withdraw, we're going to take a look backstage now, where Desmond has just recently learned that he'll be facing Brujah at Blood and Thunder.

Backstage...

Desmond is sitting next to Melissa DelArmeggio backstage, staring off vacantly as she sits by his side. He's clearly not happy about what he just heard.

Desmond: I still can't believe they're going to make him come after me like that. I mean... that's not reasonable at all. I just don't know what to do.

M. DelArmeggio: Can't you just refuse the match?

Desmond: I would if I could. But Troy has complete control over my contract from the deal I made when I signed on, so he can sign me in any match he wants, and there's not much I can do about it.

M. DelArmeggio: Do you think Brujah'll really do it?

Desmond: I hope he does. I know what they'll do if he doesn't. They'll go after him and Jennie just like they're doing to us. I just wish it hadn't come to this. I mean, since he's been sent to hurt me, I have to beat him and end the match... but I don't want to hurt HIM to do it. And I don't even know if I can beat him in the first place.

M. DelArmeggio: Don't worry... you've got us watching your back.

Desmond: Thanks. But I'm thinking this is something I have to settle on my own. Me and Brujah both have some things to find out about ourselves, and each other...

Melissa DelArmeggio puts an arm around Desmond's shoulders.

M. DelArmeggio: Well, if there is anything I can do--

Christina Ellis and Yuri Sonoda walk into the room, and Melissa trails off as they enter. Christina looks back and forth between Melissa and Desmond with a smile.

C. Ellis: Looks like I got here just in time. First that little kiss last week, and now this...

M. DelArmeggio: Yeah, you sure caught us red-handed, with my arm around him like that... I mean, who does that kind of kinky stuff, anyway!?

C. Ellis: So that's all for real? You guys are actually a couple now? Cool.

M. DelArmeggio: Yep... all your pesky matchmaking finally paid off. Give yourself a big pat on the back. But now you'll just have to find some other way to keep yourself amused.

Melissa looks back at Desmond, and sees that he's still staring off vacantly.

M. DelArmeggio: Besides, this probably isn't a great time to talk about it. We just found out he has a match with Brujah at Blood and Thunder. Brujah's been sent to hurt him.

Christina Ellis's smile fades.

C. Ellis: Who said that? Troy?

M. DelArmeggio: Yeah.

C. Ellis: If it's any consolation... we'll all have a chance to take it out on him later on tonight. We've got a match tonight. Four on four. All of us against Troy, Amy, Virginia, and Komachi.

Desmond looks up suddenly, with an eager gleam in his eyes.

Desmond: We have a match with Troy tonight?

C. Ellis: Yeah... that's what I said.

Desmond: Then I have to beat him tonight.

M. DelArmeggio: Huh?

Desmond: It's his ego. I know about it. If I beat him tonight, he's not going to be satisfied until he beats me in a rematch. And he can't very well do that if Brujah's going to take me out of VCW for good. So if I beat him... he'll call off Brujah, and come after me himself.

Christina Ellis exchanges a skeptical look with Melissa DelArmeggio and Yuri Sonoda.

C. Ellis: Don't you think you're kind of grasping at straws there?

Desmond sighs, but looks directly at Christina Ellis as he responds.

Desmond: Maybe. But even if it doesn't work, I'll have the satisfaction of beating the living hell out of Troy Black for bringing that match about in the first place. I think my approach to this match might be a little less than reasonable.

C. Ellis: It damn well better be.

The camera fades out on the dressing room backstage.

We're back, and speaking of Brujah, we're about to see him in action here momentarily. "Calling Dr. Love" by KISS begins playing, and the crowd begins to boo as "Doctor" Dave Adams and Nurse Vivacia make their way out of the backstage entrance. Dave Adams will be challenging Brujah tonight for the VCW Television Title tonight, and he doesn't seem to have any shortage of confidence as he makes his way into the ring. Dave Adams climbs into the ring and holds the ropes open for Nurse Vivacia, then turns to prepare for Brujah's entrance.

Now "Woke Up This Morning (Chosen One Mix)" by Alabama Three begins playing, and Brujah steps out of the backstage entrance, accompanied by Jennie and wearing the VCW Television Title, to a round of boos from the crowd. He doesn't look happy as he walks quickly to the ring, stopping only to hand the VCW Television Title to Jennie before he climbs inside. He's looking to get right down to business here, and Brendan Powers calls for the bell to begin the match!

For the VCW Television Title:

Brujah (c)
w/Jennie

vs.

"Doctor" Dave Adams
w/Nurse Vivacia

While Dave Adams and Brujah are nearly equal in terms of size and pure wrestling ability, Brujah attacks Dave Adams viciously from the opening bell, and the match quickly becomes one-sided as Brujah assaults Dave Adams with a flurry of offense. It seems as though Brujah's taking out his frustration at recent events on Dave Adams, and only a trip from the outside by Nurse Vivacia serves to turn the tide around for Dave Adams, and then only momentarily. Jennie chases after Nurse Vivacia, chasing her away from ringside, and Dave Adams hits a string of offense on Brujah, then gives him the Doctor's Orders... but only gets two and three-quarters from the move. Seconds later, Brujah backdrops out of a DDT attempt and hits a lariat, then finishes Dave Adams off with the Power Bomb.

Brujah pinned Dave Adams with the Power Bomb in 0:04:23.
Rating: DUD
(Brujah retained the VCW Television Title.)

Brujah has won this match decisively, and Brendan Powers raises his hand in victory, but he just snarls and jerks his hand away! Brujah pulls Dave Adams up off of the mat and lifts him, then drives him down with a second Power Bomb! Dave Adams is laid out flat on the canvas, and Brujah crouches over him and starts hammering him with repeated punches! Jennie slides into the ring and pulls Brujah away, and at her urging he gets up off of Dave Adams to leave him alone, but he still looks extremely frustrated and angry. Jennie and Brujah head backstage, and a few seconds later trainers come out to help Dave Adams up and help him backstage as well.

Now "Talk Dirty To Me" by Poison begins playing... and here comes Lars Coverdale! Last week, his tag team partner, Marty Jannetty, was utterly destroyed by David Wright Hubbard, and as a result he'll be out of action with injuries for at least a few weeks. Lars Coverdale sildes into the ring and begins headbanging and playing air guitar as the crowd cheers him on, but then he grabs a microphone. He may have something to say here.

L. Coverdale: David Wright Hubbard... when you attacked me, it sucked, but it was just part of the otherwise totally awesome experience of being Lars Coverdale. But then, when you took out Marty last week, you went too far, and now you're in for a mega-righteous beating. You're still mad about Gang Wars, dude? Come on down to Blood and Thunder, and I'll beat you again... and this time you won't have any excuses.

Wow... Lars Coverdale is calling David Wright Hubbard out for a one-on-one match at Blood and Thunder! The crowd cheers loudly... but then "What U Lookin' At" by Uncle Kracker begins playing, and the crowd boos as Brian Rivera steps out of the back, accompanied by Stormy Weathers. What's he doing here!? He has a microphone, and he raises it to address Lars Coverdale...

B. Rivera: Hold on just a second there, hoss. You're trying to get a piece of ol' D-W-H, you gotta go through me first. I'm his boy, bubba. I got his back. I was sitting around backstage, and I didn't wanna work today. I was gonna take me the day off. But I hear you out here, talking about my home-boy D-W-H, and I ain't gonna stand for it, dog. So how's about I come down there and put a knot on your head big enough to hang an umbrella from, son!?

L. Coverdale: Bring it on, you jive turkey! You suck!

Brian Rivera's eyes widen as he begins yelling at Lars Coverdale angrily.

B. Rivera: Jive turkey!? Aw, hell no!! I'm about to be on you like ants on a sugar hill, bubba. Stormy, watch my ass, because I'm about to bust this ol' boy right in his jaw!!

Brian Rivera charges to the ring and slides inside, and he and Lars Coverdale start going toe to toe as Linda Peterson enters the ring and calls for the bell to begin the match!

Lars Coverdale

vs.

Brian Rivera
w/Stormy Weathers

As the match progresses, it becomes plain that Brian Rivera is a little bit outclassed by Lars Coverdale. Lars has a clear upper hand after a few minutes, tossing Brian Rivera to the outside and leaping out onto him with an amazing springboard twisting cross bodypress to the floor. Lars Coverdale continues his offense on the outside, but Stormy Weathers distracts him long enough for Brian Rivera to get in a low blow from behind. Brian Rivera takes it back in the ring and works over Lars Coverdale, trying to keep him down. After a minute or two, he goes up to the top rope, yells "I'M GOING PLATINUM!" and hits a flying legdrop for a near fall, but when he goes for the Bitch Slap, Lars Coverdale pushes him away, then nails him with a desperate superkick! Both men get up slowly, but Lars Coverdale's up first, and he hits a Rocker Dropper on Brian Rivera, then turns him over and goes up top, hitting the Frog Splash for the three count!!

Lars Coverdale pinned Brian Rivera with the Frog Splash in 0:07:06.
Rating: ** 1/4

Lars Coverdale has defeated Brian Rivera tonight, and his challenge remains open for David Wright Hubbard... but wait a second, someone's coming out of the crowd right now! It's David Wright Hubbard, dressed in his street clothes! He's not even scheduled to be here tonight... and he jumps the guardrail, then slides into the ring behind Lars Coverdale! Lars hears the crowd booing, and turns around... RIGHT INTO A LARIAT!! David Wright Hubbard mowed Lars Coverdale down with that lariat, and he pulls him up into a standing headscissors, then lifts... POWER BOMB!! But he's not done... he muscles Lars up again, and drills him with a second power bomb!! Lars Coverdale is laid out, and Brian Rivera gets up, congratulating David Wright Hubbard... and David Wright Hubbard grabs him by the throat and chokeslams him down hard to the mat!! He's calling for a microphone now, and he quickly gets one.

D.W. Hubbard: First of all...

David Wright Hubbard moves to stand over Brian Rivera, glaring down at him.

D.W. Hubbard: Brian, you lousy son of a bitch, let's get a few things straight. You ain't my "boy", okay!? And you most certainly do NOT "have my back". Do you understand me!? Do I make myself clear!?

The crowd doesn't exactly show much sympathy for Brian Rivera, but they boo as he turns to stand over Lars Coverdale next.

D.W. Hubbard: And Lars... I thought maybe you learned your lesson, son. You thought you wanted to call me out again!? Look at you now, boy. You just got your ass whipped again. I just showed you I can whip your ass any damn time I feel like it. You still want some of me? Huh? Do you still think you're man enough to whip my ass? How do you like me now, boy!? Huh!? How do you like this!?

David Wright Hubbard tosses aside the microphone and crouches on top of Lars Coverdale's fallen body, raining big right hands down onto his face repeatedly. The crowd boos, and after a few seconds David Wright Hubbard gets up again, laying one final stomp down on Lars Coverdale's fallen body before he rolls out of the ring and starts heading backstage. Once again, David Wright Hubbard just beat the living hell out of Lars Coverdale, and we have to wonder if things will be any different at Blood and Thunder.

As trainers come out to check on Lars Coverdale and Brian Rivera, we're going to go backstage now, where Ziggy Adderloaf is standing by with Tim Bell and Owen Addison of the Technicians, who'll take on Jack Norman and Butch Manson of Hell's Bikers for the VCW World Tag Team Titles! Take it away, Ziggy!

Backstage...

Ziggy Adderloaf is standing backstage with Owen Addison and Tim Bell, who are dressed to wrestle as they prepare to head out and challenge for the VCW World Tag Team Titles. Paul Canyon is also sitting nearby in the dressing room.

Z. Adderloaf: I'm here with Owen Addison and Tim Bell of the Technicians, who'll be teaming up to face the VCW World Tag Team Champions, Jack Norman and Butch Manson, in a few moments. I have to admit, Owen, it's strange to see you teaming up with somebody other than Paul Canyon.

O. Addison: Ziggy... you just have to realize that this is a different time and place in the VCW landscape. We're not at Wrestlewar III anymore. What we had with the Ontario Colour Show... the harmony's just not there anymore. And I don't think that I could continue to work in a situation like that, where we're not making forward progress. We're the Technicians, Ziggy. We're the best pure wrestlers that VCW has to offer, and there's no reason that the VCW World Tag Team Titles should be held by a couple of musclebound clods like Hell's Bikers.

Breaking up the Ontario Colour Show was the only thing we could do if we want to continue to achieve at our top potential. Don't make any mistake about it... it wasn't something I wanted to do on a personal level. But on a professional level, it needed to happen. And the Technicians are complete professionals, Ziggy. After we win the VCW World Tag Team Titles tonight, you'll see that this is a positive change in all of our careers.

Paul Canyon shrugs, looking a little disappointed, in the background.

Z. Adderloaf: All right. That match is coming up next... but real quick here, you've still been having problems with Jacob Idol lately. Do you have any comments on that?

T. Bell: Jacob Idol just doesn't want to let it go. It's been almost two years now, and he still has an axe to grind against all of us. Personally, I'm not gonna put up with these post-match attacks all the time. After we win the titles tonight, I'm challenging Jacob Idol to get Julian or anyone else he can find, and come after us for a shot at them. I don't know how many times we'll have to beat him to get him off our backs for good... but I'm ready, willing, and able to beat him as many times as it takes.

Z. Adderloaf: All right then. Let's prepare to get to the ring, for the VCW World Tag Team Title match!

Tim Bell and Owen Addison start to leave, but Paul Canyon stands up and stops Owen Addison and Tim Bell.

O. Addison: Got something to say?

P. Canyon: Yeah. ... Good luck out there. Bring the belts back.

O. Addison: Thanks.

Paul Canyon hugs Owen Addison and Tim Bell, and they step away, leaving the dressing room. Paul Canyon watches them go, looking a little bit disappointed, as the camera fades out on the backstage scene.

We're back and here we go now... "Until It Sleeps" by Metallica begins playing over the arena sound system, and the crowd cheers as the challengers, Owen Addison and Tim Bell, make their way out of the backstage entrance. They don't have a lot of experience working together as a tag team, but both are highly accomplished wrestlers, among two of the most technically proficient in VCW. They enter the ring and pose for the crowd, get a modest round of cheers, but one couldn't help but think that the Ontario Colour Show would have received more cheers.

Now "Highway To Hell" by AC/DC begins playing, and the crowd boos as the VCW World Tag Team Champions, Jack Norman and Butch Manson of Hell's Bikers, come out of the backstage entrance. They sneer at Owen Addison and Tim Bell in the ring, pointing out the title belts around their waist, then begin walking to the ring, rolling their shoulders and cracking their knuckles to loosen up for a fight. They've been dominant champions so far, with a big win over the Hammer of the Gods, which they immediately followed up with another big win against the Wrecking Crew... can they repeat their success for a third week in a row? We're about to find out... they're ready to fight as they hit the ring, and Bobcat McGavin enters the ring, calling for the bell to begin the match!

For the VCW World Tag Team Titles:

Hell's Bikers (Jack Norman & Butch Manson) (c)

vs.

Technicians (Tim Bell & Owen Addison)

Both teams show a lot of strong points in the first several minutes of this match. Hell's Bikers are as powerful and crafty as ever, and though they're outclassed by the technical ability of their opponents, they manage to work around that by brawling and trying to stay on their feet. Tim Bell and Owen Addison, for their part, are superior wrestlers with a clear game plan, intent on wrestling their opponents to the ground and taking control. But they wrestle the match like two talented singles wrestlers, without much cooperation; a few times, Owen Addison will seem to call for some sort of teamwork move with Tim Bell, but Tim Bell either misses the cues or performs with a certain amount of awkwardness or uncertainty, though he remains competent at wrestling Jack Norman and Butch Manson individually.

After several minutes of fairly even competition, Butch Manson takes a clear advantage when Tim Bell goes on the offensive too near Hell's Bikers' corner, and Jack Norman drills him with a forearm smash from the outside. Jack Norman and Butch Manson isolate Tim Bell, and assault him for a few minutes with some high impact power offense (and a surprising minimum of rest holds), cutting him off when he tries to retaliate and make a tag. But when Butch Manson goes up to the top turnbuckle for a moonsault, Tim Bell rolls out of the way. Butch Manson manages to roll over and tag Jack Norman, who rushes in... but Tim Bell crawls to his corner before Jack Norman can stop him, and tags Owen Addison!

Owen Addison comes in with a lot of quickness, handing out takedowns, dropkicks, and other quick moves to take down Jack Norman, then Butch Manson when he comes in for more. Tim Bell comes in and dumps Butch Manson to the outside, then goes out after him rather than trying to hit Jack Norman with any sort of tandem offense. That doesn't seem to be a problem, however, as Owen Addison savagely works over Jack Norman's neck with a series of moves, including a belly-to-back suplex for a two and a half count and a piledriver for a near fall. But as he goes for the Tombstone, Butch Manson takes Tim Bell head-first into the ringpost on the outside! Owen Addison hits the Tombstone, then covers... but Butch Manson makes it to the top and comes off to break the pin with the Flying Legdrop before three! Owen Addison and Jack Norman are both still down, so Butch Manson pulls Owen up into a standing headscissors, then drills him with a piledriver! Jack Norman crawls over him, and Bobcat McGavin counts to three, as Butch Manson cuts off a save from Tim Bell!

Hell's Bikers (Jack Norman and Butch Manson) defeated The Technicians (Owen Addison and Tim Bell) when J. Norman defeated Addison via pinfall in 0:14:52.
Rating: ***
(Hell's Bikers retained the VCW World Tag Team Titles.)

This was a surprisingly good wrestling match for a contest that featured Jack Norman prominently... and a telling fact was realized here. Owen Addison and Tim Bell are a pair of excellent wrestlers, but tonight Jack Norman and Butch Manson were the better team. Their run in the tag team division seems to be just heating up... they're posing for the crowd with their titles now, as Owen Addison rolls out of the ring and joins Tim Bell in heading backstage. The crowd boos them loudly, but it seems as though Hell's Bikers are starting to get some respect as a major force in the tag team division... and now Butch Manson is grabbing a microphone!

B. Manson: We told y'all once, we're the baddest tag team in VCW! You're looking at two real, one hundred percent MEN! So if any of the BOYS in the back want a shot at the title... bring it right the fuck on, anywhere, anytime!!

The crowd boos, but it's true that they've been dominating VCW for the past three weeks... but the crowd starts cheering as "War Machine" by KISS begins playing, and it sure looks like the action's about to heat up!! Here come Bass Rogers and Dean Sanders, Stiff Competition... and we know the history they have with Hell's Bikers! Dean Sanders is calling for a microphone, halfway down the ramp, and he gets one too.

D. Sanders: So, you uneducated ruffians want some competition? We're not just competition... we're STIFF COMPETITION, gentlemen, and we've been deprived of those titles for far too long. Pick the time and place, gentlemen, and we'll kick your bloody rotten teeth in.

The crowd cheers, and Butch Manson raises the microphone again.

B. Manson: We just got done putting the titles on the line, so if you want a title match, we'll kick your ass LATER. But if you just want to rumble... bring it on, and we'll do it right here, right now!!

It's not going to take any more than that... Bass Rogers and Dean Sanders immediately charge to the ring and begin brawling with Hell's Bikers! Dean Sanders begins unloading on Butch Manson, and on the other side of the ring, Bass Rogers and Jack Norman are going toe-to-toe, neither man giving an inch! The H.A.R.P. Squad comes rushing out of the backstage entrance, to the boos of the crowd, but as they try to pull the two brawling teams apart, the first several H.A.R.P. Squad members get knocked on their rear ends! Finally, as a dozen or so H.A.R.P. Squad members hit the ring en masse, it looks like the brawl will be contained.

As the H.A.R.P. Squad tries to regain control in the ring, we're going backstage, where one-half of the eight-person tag team match up next is preparing to head for the ring!

Backstage...

Komachi, Minako, Virginia, and Rebecca Black are all waiting backstage in a hallway. Rebecca Black looks at her wristwatch and frowns, then turns to Virginia.

R. Black: So, your issue of Overnight Sexation magazine's due out in three days. Any chance of scoring me a free copy?

Virginia: I don't know yet... I'll see what I can do. You have to remember, I have a deal negotiated by Vickie Romano...

A nearby door opens, and Amy Lin and Troy Black step out, both breathing heavily, with their hair and clothes rumpled, and glistening with sweat.

R. Black: And speaking of sex...

Troy Black elbows Rebecca Black, smiling.

T. Black: You guys have to carry most of the match tonight. She wore me out. Sorry we're late.

R. Black: Don't worry about it... this is Desmond and those three bimbos. We could just send Komachi in there to do it alone.

A. Lin: Oh, yeah. Rebecca, you don't mind filling in for me tonight, do you? I'm a little bit worn out myself...

R. Black: No problem. What're friends for?

A. Lin: That's my girl. I'll be with you guys at ringside, though.

Virginia: Okay, then. Everyone ready to go?

Before anyone can reply, Sophie walks onto the scene.

Sophie: Excuse me... this won't take long.

Sophie pulls out a silk hankerchief and lunges at Troy Black, wiping it all over his face and neck. He shoves her away, but Sophie takes the handkerchief, apparently satisfied, and puts it in a sealable plastic bag. She turns to leave, but Amy Lin grabs her by the hair and pulls her back.

Sophie: Eeep! Watch out, that's my HAIR!!

A. Lin: Listen, you little twerp... Troy's mine. MINE. That means YOU don't touch him. Do you understand!

Sophie: Um... well, no, not really. I mean, everyone knows that you have sex with all kinds of guys all the time, and--

A. Lin: You fucking BITCH!

Amy Lin begins drilling Sophie with a series of punches and kneelifts that crumple her to the floor, but Troy Black pulls her back.

T. Black: We don't have time for this. We're late as it is. Let's go.

Sophie pulls herself to her feet and quickly scampers away. Amy Lin stares after her angrily, but then begins following the others as they head for the ring, and the camera fades out on the backstage scene.

Amy Lin will be replaced in this match by Rebecca Black... but is she really not in a condition to compete tonight, or is this just a ploy for her to stay out of Melissa DelArmeggio's grasp until Blood and Thunder? We don't know the answer to that for sure... and now "New World Order" by Ministry begins playing, and that brings out the team of Desmond, Yuri Sonoda, Melissa DelArmeggio, and Christina Ellis, as the crowd cheers loudly. They make their way to the ring, and Desmond looks like he's already on the verge of boiling over... he has to have it in for Troy Black after the announcement that he must face Brujah at Blood and Thunder.

Now "Favorite Things" by Incubus begins playing, and the lights are replaced by Troy Black's dim silver-blue lights, as Troy Black, Rebecca Black, Virginia, and Komachi make their way out of the backstage entrance, accompanied by Amy Lin and Minako. There are a lot of personal issues in this match, without a doubt, and though not a lot's at stake in terms of title contention and what-not here, there's a lot of pride and bad blood between several members of both teams. The opposing team enters the ring, and now Jerry Rogers enters the ring, calling for the bell to begin the match!

Desmond, Melissa DelArmeggio, Christina Ellis, & Yuri Sonoda

vs.

Black Plague (Troy Black & Rebecca Black), Virginia, & Komachi
w/Amy Lin & Minako

Desmond steps in the ring immediately for his team, demanding that Troy Black do the same, but Troy Black refuses, and Komachi enters the ring against Desmond instead. Desmond overpowers Komachi to start, but she retaliates, undaunted by his strength, and pelts him with a swift combination of punches and kicks. Desmond's left reeling, but he manages to reverse a whip into the ropes, then drop her with a clothesline, at which point he tags in Melissa. Melissa and Komachi square off and circle each other cautiously, then beat the hell out of each other with stiff kicks and punches, ending in Komachi overpowering Melissa. But when she whips Melissa into the ropes and runs off the other side, they both meet in the middle with spinning leg lariats, wiping each other out. Both women crawl to their corners, and tag in Christina Ellis and Rebecca Black.

Christina Ellis takes the advantage to start in that exchange, making it clear that Rebecca Black's not half the wrestler that she is, but Amy Lin turns the tides with a trip on the outside, forcing Desmond and Yuri Sonoda to hold Melissa back from going after her. Rebecca Black takes Christina Ellis down with a neckbreaker, then immediately tags in Troy Black to a huge round of boos from the crowd... and Troy looks downright eager to get in the ring when it's not against Desmond, quickly going after Christina Ellis and attacking her right knee. This could disable a large portion of Christina Ellis's offense, since Troy, Komachi, and Virginia all weigh significantly more than the average woman, and Christina Ellis might have difficulty using many of her suplexes against them with a bad knee, not to mention the dropkicks that she likes to use.

Troy Black works over Christina Ellis, using his size to stay in control as he dismantles her right knee, then tag out, and his teammates take turns working over Christina Ellis. With Christina Ellis looking to be in serious trouble, Komachi focuses a series of swift kicks on her thigh and knee, then takes her down into a scorpion deathlock, but Christina Ellis makes it to the ropes. Troy Black asks for the tag again, and comes in to put on a figure-four leglock, with Amy Lin holding his hands on the outside for support while Jerry Rogers isn't looking. Melissa DelArmeggio immediately jumps down off of the apron at that, and rushes Amy, tackling her to the floor, then assaulting her with a series of punches and kicks. Jerry Rogers turns to try to break it up, and Desmond rushes in, crouching over Troy and forcing him to release the hold, then beating the hell out of him... but Komachi steps forward and spits the blue mist in his face!! Desmond rolls off of Troy Black to the outside, wiping and clutching at his face, and Jerry Rogers turns around just in time to miss it! Troy Black makes the tag to Rebecca Black as Virginia jumps down and assaults Desmond on the outside of the ring... Christina Ellis crawls to her corner, but only Yuri Sonoda is there, so she makes the tag to Yuri Sonoda!

Rebecca Black steps forward, cockily putting up her fists in preparation for Yuri Sonoda... and immediately gets taken down by a running dropkick. Yuri Sonoda takes Rebecca Black down repeatedly, using a lot of basic, but fast takedowns and moves to keep her off-guard. Komachi runs in, swinging a uraken, but Yuri Sonoda ducks, and Komachi hits Rebecca Black!! Christina Ellis limps into the ring, and she nails Komachi with a somewhat-weakened dropkick, staggering her back... but Yuri quickly follows up with another one, and Komachi tumbles to the outside of the ring! Christina Ellis goes out after her, and Yuri Sonoda picks Rebecca Black up... TOMBSTONE!! There's still chaos all around the ring, but Jerry Rogers is focused in the ring, and makes the count... but Troy Black comes in and breaks the pin at two with a kick to the head!

Troy Black helps Rebecca Black up and pulls her to their corner, then tags himself in. Desmond and Virginia are still going at it on the outside, as are Melissa and Amy, and Christina and Komachi. Yuri Sonoda looks up... and an expression of pure terror crosses her face as she sees who she's in the ring with. She scrambles to her corner, and finds it empty, then looks around... and she screams defiantly and charges Troy Black! She rushes at him and nails him with a dropkick, but he doesn't go down! She grabs him and whips him to the ropes... but Troy Black reverses it with, then comes off the other side and nearly beheads her with a leaping clothesline! A smile creeps across her face as he pulls her up by the throat... CHOKESLAM!! That probably finished it right there, but he pulls her up again and hooks her... DOUBLE ARM DDT!! No question about it now; Yuri Sonoda's out. But Troy Black goes up to the top turnbuckle... BLACK DAGGER!! Yuri twitches with the impact and goes limp, and Troy Black casually leans back on her, counting along as Jerry Rogers counts to three!

The Black Plague (Troy Black and Rebecca Black) and Virginia and Komachi defeated Desmond, Melissa DelArmeggio, Christina Ellis, and Yuri Sonoda when T. Black pinned Yuri with the Black Dagger in 0:11:00.
Rating: * 1/2

The crowd boos loudly, and Troy Black gets up, glaring contemptfully at Yuri Sonoda, then stomps down on her and rolls out of the ring, as Virginia, Komachi, Rebecca, and Amy pull away from the brawl around ringside to begin retreating as well. Melissa, Desmond, and Christina Ellis climb into the ring to check on Yuri Sonoda, who's just barely starting to move after Troy Black annihilated her. Troy Black had every advantage in the world at that point, and Yuri Sonoda didn't stand a chance. But at least she seems to be okay, as her friends help her to her feet and help her backstage.

We're going straight through to our next match now, and "Kashmir" by Led Zeppelin is playing over the arena sound system, bringing out Julian Page, to more boos from the crowd. He made a bold challenge last week to Crimson... and tonight, that challenge has been answered. He seems confident as he makes his way to the ring, but this isn't the first time these two have met, and Julian Page has always ended up on the short end of the stick before. Still, it's probably a good bet that he has something crafty up his sleeve as he goes into this match. He's grabbing a microphone now.

J. Page: Finally, you people are going to see justice served. Finally, I'm going to get revenge on one of the people who stole the VCW Intercontinental Title from me at the Big Fight. Crimson... I showed you a little mercy earlier on, by agreeing to team up with you, but you weren't smart enough to take advantage of it. You thought you could walk right over me. As far as Johnny goes, I've got a match just signed, and I'll deal with him at Blood and Thunder. But I've watched Crimson carefully. I've studied the tapes of his matches, and I know EXACTLY how to beat him. And I AM gonna beat him, right here, tonight! Get out here, big man, and I'm gonna shoot you right down.

This is either an act of bravery or an act of suicide, and we're about to find out which. "Walk" by Pantera begins playing, and here comes the man who will challenge the Grave Digger for the VCW World Title at Blood and Thunder... here comes Crimson! He walks to the ring slowly, staring at Julian Page with a menacing look in his eyes, then climbs up on the apron and steps on over the top rope. Brendan Powers enters the ring and calls for the bell, and we've got a match!

Crimson

vs.

Julian Page

Julian Page immediately reaches into his tights and pulls out a pair of brass knuckles, then charges Crimson with a big swing... but Crimson catches his fist, then whips him into the ropes, and nearly knocks his head off with a massive boot! He bends down, pulls Julian Page up by the hair, then grabs his throat... CHOKESLAM!! Julian Page just got DRILLED to the mat, and Crimson puts a boot over his chest! Brendan Powers counts to three, and this one's over already!

Crimson pinned Julian Page with the Chokeslam in 0:00:27.
Rating: DUD

Just like THAT, Julian Page has been disposed of, and Crimson steps over the top rope, then begins heading backstage, leaving Julian Page to pull himself up off of the mat, with a groggy, anguished look on his face. That probably couldn't have worked out any worse for him; Crimson just made short work of this match. He stops and glares back into the ring at Julian Page one last time, then steps backstage. The Grave Digger might have met a man who's equally as destructive and powerful as he is, in Crimson. Julian Page staggers backstage a little later... clearly, it's back to the drawing board for him on this one.

We're ready for our next match now... "Kiss My Ass" by Ted Nugent begins playing, and here comes the rather odd team of Lance Errington and "The Barcelona Assassin" Lorenzo Vasquez, accompanied by Rebecca Black. Lorenzo Vasquez is wearing the VCW Intercontinental Title as they head to the ring and climb inside. He takes off the title, then wraps his arms around Rebecca and gives her a kiss as Lance Errington grabs a microphone. This can't be good.

L. Errington: Before we begin our match tonight, I'd like to bring it to your attention that last week, Falcon said he wanted a Steel Cage Match with me at Blood and Thunder. He says he wants to finish this issue with me and look ahead to the future. If that's your idea of the future, Falcon... your future's looking extremely grim. Go ahead, look to the future. Look ahead to feeling pain you never thought you could imagine in the cage match. Look ahead to what happens after the cage match, when you're lying on the mat with massive injuries. Look ahead at what'll happen to Erica without you there to protect her. And while you're at it, picture your meeting with the doctor after the match. How long do you think he'll say you'll be out of competition for? A month? Three months? A year? Maybe the rest of your life.

You say that I've never been able to beat you. But this isn't about beating anybody. This is about somebody getting hurt. Do you think you can hurt me, Falcon? Do you think you can reach down into yourself and deny the illusions of decency you have, and take me out? You and Erica... you've already destroyed me, spiritually. Do you think you can destroy me physically now? With my spirit gone, with my heart gone... all that's left is my mind. A mind filled with raw predatory instinct, unclouded by a sense of false kinship to my fellow human beings... and my body, the physical instrument of your destruction. You're coming up against a human killing machine... and now you've gone and locked yourself in a cage with me. THAT is your future, Falcon. Look ahead to it all you like.

Lance Errington tosses aside the microphone, and those are strong words, especially given Lance Errington's violent inclinations over the past few months... but "Liquid Mercury" by Jimmy Page begins playing now, and that brings out "The California Crippler" Ken Collins and Falcon, accompanied by Lady Erica Whitmore! Ken Collins isn't wasting any time... he charges to the ring and immediately begins beating the hell out of Lorenzo Vasquez! Falcon runs after him, and Linda Peterson enters the ring and calls for the bell to begin this match!

Lance Errington & "The Barcelona Assassin" Lorenzo Vasquez
w/Rebecca Black

vs.

Falcon & "The California Crippler" Ken Collins
w/Lady Erica Whitmore

This match is filled with hatred from the opening bell. Ken Collins and Lorenzo Vasquez start the match off, assaulting one another viciously, but Ken Collins's inner fury overwhelms Lorenzo Vasquez, and Ken Collins starts bumping him all over the ring, tossing him around and nailing him with brutal chops that send him flying back. Lorenzo Vasquez gains a brief respite after a low blow and tags in Lance Errington, who immediately asks for Falcon, but Ken Collins just starts beating the hell out of him, demanding that he tag Lorenzo Vasquez back in. Lance Errington takes a beating, but he manages to counter a belly-to-back suplex by slipping out behind Ken Collins, then bringing him down with a Russian legsweep and tosses him into his corner, telling him to tag in Falcon.

Falcon comes in, and there's clearly no shortage of hatred here either, as both men go after each other aggressively. They brawl on the outside of the ring, and Falcon seems to gain the upper hand, until Rebecca Black gives him a low blow behind Linda Peterson's back. Lance Errington attacks Falcon with a vengance, ramming him head-first into the ringsteps and assaulting him on the outside. He takes Falcon back into the ring and drills him with a spinebuster, then goes for the Scorpion Deathlock, but Falcon kicks him away, then backs up and tags in Ken Collins. Ken Collins rushes in, and immediately grabs Lorenzo Vasquez by the hair and pulls him into the ring, assaulting him... but Lance Errington clobbers him from behind, taking him down to the mat, then tags in Lorenzo Vasquez legally!

Lorenzo Vasquez takes control of Ken Collins, going after his right arm and shoulder to set up the Barcelona Armbar, and taunting him or rubbing his face in the mat occasionally when he's sure he has the upper hand. Filled with inner fury, Ken Collins keeps trying to come back, but Lorenzo manages a few well-timed elbows to the face or low blows to keep just out of the reach of Ken Collins's violent revenge and keep the advantage. Finally, he goes for a single arm DDT, but Ken Collins squirms free and slips behind him, then takes him down with a release German suplex! Lorenzo Vasquez rolls over and tags in Lance Errington, telling him to go and get Ken Collins... but Lance Errington just grabs Ken Collins and throws him into his corner, demanding that he tag in Falcon... and he does!

Falcon comes into the ring, hammering Lance Errington with repeated punches to the face, taking him down repeatedly, and beating the hell out of him, showing that he hates Lance Errington just as much as Lance hates him. On the outside, Ken Collins rushes Lorenzo Vasquez, and begins brawling with him out there, fueled by a desire for vengance as he fights through the pain in his weakened arm. Falcon hits Lance Errington with a nice offensive combination on the inside of the ring, culminating with a Falconsault and a superkick, each getting near falls. He goes for the Falcon Arrow, but Lance Errington counters it with a vertical suplex, then rolls out of the ring and grabs the ring bell.

On the outside, Ken Collins has Lorenzo Vasquez locked in the California Crossface, and he's tapping out uselessly on the floor as Linda Peterson tries to talk Ken Collins into letting go. Falcon's getting up in the ring as Lance Errington raises the ring bell, with Linda Peterson's attention still distracted! Lady Erica Whitmore slides into the ring and grabs the bell, trying to pull it away from Lance... and Lance Errington lets go suddenly, causing the bell to fly back in Erica's hands... and hit Falcon!! Falcon goes down, and Lance Errington shoves Lady Erica Whitmore to the mat, then pulls Falcon into a standing headscissors... PILEDRIVER! On the outside, Rebecca Black raked Ken Collins's eyes, getting him off of Lorenzo, and Linda Peterson has turned back to the match again, just as Lance Errington covers Falcon! She makes the count, and it gets three!

Lance Errington and Lorenzo Vasquez defeated Falcon and Ken Collins when Errington pinned Falcon after a piledriver in 0:14:29.
Rating: **

Lance Errington crouches over Falcon and begins drilling him with a series of punches, as Lorenzo Vasquez attacks Ken Collins with a low blow on the outside, and this isn't looking good. We know that Falcon has suffered some nasty shots to the head lately, thanks to Lance Errington, and even tonight he's already taken a ring bell upside the head and a piledriver... he may be in danger of serious injury! Meanwhile, on the outside, Lorenzo Vasquez floors Ken Collins with a chairshot, then begins repeatedly driving the edge of the chair down onto his arm! This situation's looking bleak on either side... and now Lady Erica Whitmore's in the ring, and she tries to pull Lance Errington off of Falcon... but he just whirls and grabs her by the hair! He smiles at her, as she struggles to try to get away, while Lorenzo Vasquez attacks Ken Collins on the outside...

Hold it!! "Wait And Bleed" by Slipknot just hit the arena sound system, and the VCW World Champion, the Grave Digger, is coming out of the backstage entrance! Lance Errington and Lorenzo Vasquez look up, and Lorenzo Vasquez charges him with the chair as he begins heading to the ring, but the Grave Digger kicks it into his face!! Lance Errington turns back to Lady Erica Whitmore, pulling her into a standing headscissors... but the Grave Digger charges and slides into the ring, pulling him away! Lance Errington retaliates with a punch to the Grave Digger's face... but the Grave Digger ignores it, then grabs him by the throat... CHOKESLAM!! Lance Errington's down!!

Some trainers and members of the H.A.R.P. Squad are coming out now, tending to Falcon and Ken Collins, and escorting Lance Errington and Lorenzo Vasquez away from the ring, as the Grave Digger paces inside, with the crowd cheering for him. As the chaos around the ring dies down, he grabs a microphone.

G. Digger: With that out of the way, there's two things on my mind. The first is Crimson. Maybe I'll be walking out of here with the title tonight, and maybe I won't... but either way, I have some problems to settle with Crimson. Every time I've met him so far, he's brought me down... but every one of those times, he struck from behind, with a shovel. At Blood and Thunder, title or no title, I'm fighting him face to face, not from behind... and he'd better bring the shovel, because when it's all said and done, I'll need it after the match to dig his grave and put him SIX FEET UNDER.

The crowd cheers, and the Grave Digger continues pacing in the ring.

G. Digger: Now, as far as Tony Garcia's challenge tonight goes.... I know what Tony Garcia's capable of, and I know how dangerous he is... and I respect him for that. When he says he's the baddest man on the roster, he has twenty-five years of destruction standing behind him, reminding you that it's the truth. But this isn't about twenty-five years. It's about one moment in time, this one right here, right now. I'm putting the title on the line one more time, giving the Black Plague one more chance to come and get the title back. Tony Garcia... the match is made, and the title's on the line. Now get out here, and we'll just see who the baddest man on the roster is.

The crowd cheers as the Grave Digger stares down the aisle... and "I, Zombie (Europe In The Raw Mix)" by White Zombie begins playing, as Tony Garcia makes his way out of the backstage entrance, carrying the wooden axe handle! Rebecca Black joins him at his side, and the intense stare of concentration on Tony Garcia's face is clear. He knows this is a big match, possibly one of the last shots at the VCW World Title that he'll get, and he wants to make it count. He wants to prove himself to the Black Plague, and everybody else watching. Tonight could mark exactly where Tony Garcia stands in VCW, and he knows it as he steps into the ring. Bobcat McGavin enters the ring and calls for the bell, and this match is on!

For the VCW World Title:

Grave Digger (c)

vs.

Tony Garcia
w/Rebecca Black

Tony Garcia moves in cautiously against the Grave Digger, finally locking up with him. Tony Garcia grabs a headlock, and the Grave Digger tries for a belly-to-back suplex, but Tony Garcia hangs on and shifts his weight, bringing the Grave Digger down, then slips behind him into a waistlock. The Grave Digger forces his way to his feet, but Tony Garcia lifts him with a mighty effort, flinging him back with a release German suplex! The Grave Digger and Tony Garcia both get up, and the Grave Digger charges with a clothesline, but Tony Garcia ducks, then comes off the ropes behind the Grave Digger and knocks him off his feet with a huge clothesline of his own!!

Tony Garcia starts to get a little more confidence as he goes after the Grave Digger, clobbering him in the back repeatedly, trying to soften him up. After laying in a few minutes of offense, Tony Garcia gets the Grave Digger down to his knees, then reaches out and grabs his head in a clawhold! He's trying to force the Grave Digger down, as he squeezes his forehead in the clawhold... but the Grave Digger just reaches up, grabs Tony Garcia's arm with both hands, and pulls the clawhold off of his forehead, then twists Tony Garcia's arm with an armwringer! But as the Grave Digger gets up to his feet, Tony Garcia twists around out of it, then swats the Grave Digger with a lariat... but the Grave Digger just staggers back a step, then asks for another one! Tony Garcia charges the Grave Digger, and they meet in the middle with a pair of clotheslines, knocking both men down!!

The Grave Digger gets up first and blocks a punch from Tony Garcia, then goes on the offensive, clobbering him with devestating punches and using his superior size and power to regain the advantage. Not many men have a decisive strength advantage over Tony Garcia, but this is one of them. But Tony Garcia continues thinking ahead, drawing on his vast experience, and when the Grave Digger goes for the Cradle to Grave he counters by dropping down into a jawbreaker! The Grave Digger's down, and Tony Garcia gets up, just in time to clobber him with a few massive shots to the back that ensure he stays down. Tony Garcia keeps the Grave Digger on the mat and assaults him, solidifying his advantage once again as the crowd boos.

On the offensive once again, Tony Garcia takes the match to the outside, brawling with the Grave Digger and continuing to work over his back. Showing amazing levels of strength, he actually picks the Grave Digger up and rams him back-first into the steel ringpost twice, then turns and brings him down through the announcers' table with a running powerslam!! Tony Garcia is unleashing a brutal offensive on the Grave Digger, and if there is any possibility of putting him away, this just might do it. But when Tony Garcia rolls the Grave Digger into the ring, then nails him with a big splash and goes for the pin, he kicks out at two and a half! Frustrated, Tony Garcia pulls the Grave Digger up into a standing headscissors, then lifts for a power bomb... but the Grave Digger's still able to fight it, and Tony Garcia can't quite manage to get him up! The Grave Digger lifts... and takes him down with a backdrop, but then crumples to the mat himself, clutching at his back with a pained grimace! That may have further aggravated the condition of the Grave Digger's targetted back...

Tony Garcia gets up... but the Grave Digger fights through the pain, and he's up too! Tony Garcia rushes him, nailing the Grave Digger with a series of stiff punches, but the Grave Digger retaliates with some blows of his own, then whips Tony Garcia into the corner and follows him in with a crushing avalanche! He whips Tony Garcia into the ropes as he staggers out... then nails him with a massive Yakuza kick! Tony Garcia goes down, and the Grave Digger pulls him up again, then hooks him in a cobra clutch... and this time, the Cradle to Grave connects!! But it also took a little more out of the Grave Digger's back, and it doesn't seem like he has much left. He gets up, eyeing Tony Garcia as he pulls himself to his feet... and he grabs him by the throat!! CHOKESLAM!! Again, the effort takes its toll on the Grave Digger, but Tony Garcia's down, and the Grave Digger covers him! This should do it, as Bobcat McGavin counts... BUT TONY GARCIA KICKS OUT!! How he kicked out of the chokeslam is anybody's guess, but it was only a near fall!

The Grave Digger looks down at Tony Garcia angrily, then draws his thumb across his throat... he's looking to finish this match! He hoists Tony Garcia up for the Burial... but he falls back under him as his back gives out! Bobcat McGavin counts... but the Grave Digger's close to the ropes, and he gets a foot on the ropes at two! Both men start getting up, and the Grave Digger's obviously slowed by the pain as he takes a swing at Tony Garcia... and Tony Garcia ducks, going low for a double-leg takedown, then climbs over the Grave Digger and starts unloading on him with a vicious series of punches! One of the Grave Digger's lips is busted open hardway in the assault, but the Grave Digger manages a surge of strength to throw Tony Garcia off of him!

The Grave Digger gets up... but Tony Garcia charges him and mows him down with a clothesline! And now Tony Garcia's making the sign for the Torture Rack... can he do it!? The Grave Digger gets to his feet and staggers back... RIGHT INTO THE TORTURE RACK!! Tony Garcia actually lifts the massive VCW World Champion, and he has it on! He's racking the Grave Digger!! The crowd boos loudly, and Tony Garcia's face contorts with effort as he begins applying the pressure, but it's on! Can the Grave Digger escape? Can he endure the Torture Rack, after all the damage that his back has taken? He's not giving up yet, but Tony Garcia just keeps cranking on the pressure, trying to snap the Grave Digger's spine! Neither side is giving, as Tony Garcia keeps racking the Grave Digger... and finally, after over half a minute, Tony Garcia drops the Grave Digger, gasping with the effort! But the Grave Digger's down, and badly hurt, and Tony Garcia covers him and hooks the leg. Linda Peterson counts... and the Grave Digger kicks out at two and three-quarters!!

Tony Garcia's sucking wind, and his confidence is starting to crumble, but he pulls the Grave Digger up and whips him into the ropes, running at him from the other side. He swings at him with a lariat... but the Grave Digger ducks, and Tony Garcia mows down Bobcat McGavin!! Tony Garcia turns around, but the Grave Digger comes off the other side, and nails Tony Garcia with an amazing jumping clothesline! Tony Garcia's down!! The Grave Digger gets back up, and he's headed to the top turnbuckle... but he can barely walk with the pain in his back, and Tony Garcia's up again, in time to catch him with a punch to the gut! The Grave Digger falls onto the turnbuckle, and Tony Garcia climbs up with him, then puts him on his shoulders... is he going to... TOP-ROPE SAMOAN DROP!! Tony Garcia just DRILLED the Grave Digger down into the canvas! He crawls over him and hooks a leg... but Bobcat McGavin's still down! Is the Grave Digger just not kicking out because there's no count forcing him to, or does Tony Garcia have him beat in the middle of the ring, with no referee to count it!?

Tony Garcia gets up... but someone's coming out of the backstage entrance!! It's Troy Black!! The crowd boos as he runs to the ring, then slides inside, grabbing Tony Garcia's wooden axe handle, and he raises it to nail the Grave Digger! But Tony Garcia stops him, evidently telling Troy that he doesn't want to win it like that. Troy Black stares at him strangely, then seems to be arguing with him... but the Grave Digger sits up behind Tony Garcia! Troy Black quickly bolts out of the ring, and Tony Garcia turns around... right into the Grave Yard Slam!! Tony Garcia's down, but he's getting back up somehow... and Troy Black slides into the ring behind the Grave Digger! He draws back the axe handle again and swings... but the Grave Digger ducks, and Troy Black nails Tony Garcia with it! Troy Black turns around... and the Grave Digger mows him down with a lariat! But Rebecca Black's on the top turnbuckle with a chair... and she comes off the top with a chairshot to the Grave Digger... WITH NO EFFECT!

The Grave Digger just stares at her, then grabs the chair and RIPS IT APART!! He did that seemingly with ease, and Rebecca Black screams and runs out of the ring, wanting nothing to do with him! Tony Garcia's getting up, and the Grave Digger rushes him, then nails him with a Yakuza kick!! And now Bobcat McGavin's back up again, as the Grave Digger goes to the top turnbuckle... FLYING ELBOWDROP!! The Grave Digger just landed nearly four hundred pounds on Tony Garcia, and he covers and hooks the leg... AND GETS THREE!! It's over!! The Grave Digger just beat Tony Garcia again!!

The Grave Digger pinned Tony Garcia after a flying elbowdrop in 0:26:53.

(The Grave Digger retained the VCW World Title.)

Once again, after perhaps his toughest match yet, the Grave Digger stands tall as the VCW World Champion! Tony Garcia's down, and Troy and Rebecca Black are having a fit on the outside of the ring! The title stays with the Grave Digger, and the Black Plague may be out of immediate contention after this! Tony Garcia gave the Grave Digger one HELL of a fight, but Troy Black's attempt to interfere seemingly backfired, and the Grave Digger is still the VCW World Champion! Tony Garcia rolls out of the ring, and Troy Black is yelling something at him... but he may not be coherent enough to understand.

The Grave Digger grabs the VCW World Title, and goes to the top turnbuckle... but someone's coming out of the crowd!! It's Crimson again, and he's carrying a shovel!! He slides into the ring behind the Grave Digger... no, not again!! The Grave Digger turns around... and Crimson just nails him right between the eyes with the shovel! The Grave Digger goes down, bleeding from the forehead, and Crimson grabs him by the throat, and pulls him up... CHOKESLAM!! For the THIRD straight week, Crimson just blindsided the Grave Digger with a shovel... but this time, it was after what may have been the toughest match of his career!

The crowd's booing loudly now, as Crimson picks up the VCW World Title and puts it on around his own waist, as if trying it on... and then he takes it off, dropping it back down on Grave Digger as he points down to him and says a few parting words. He steps out over the top rope with his shovel, not even acknowledging Troy Black as he berates Tony Garcia, and stopping only to swat Rebecca Black on the posterior and laugh as he makes his way backstage. We just saw two big, dangerous men go at it... but Crimson is another one of the biggest, most dangerous men in this sport. Can he keep this up when it comes time to meet the Grave Digger face to face in a wrestling match!? We'll find out at Blood and Thunder! It's about three weeks away... but right now, we're out of time! See you next week!!
