We're still here, ladies and gentlemen, and we still have a lot of action to come! Up next, for instance, we have a big VCW World Tag Team Title match, pitting the Tough Customers as the challengers against the Ontario Colour Show! But right now, we're going to take a look backstage at the Ontario Colour Show and see just where they're at heading into this important matchup.
Owen Addison is in a room backstage, wearing the VCW World Tag Team Titles and dressed to wrestle. He's standing to his back to a door backstage when Brujah walks in. Hearing the door open, Owen Addison doesn't look back right away.
O. Addison:
Good, you're here. We're up in a few minutes. Ready for the Tough Customers?Brujah:
It's not Paul Canyon. It's me.Owen Addison whirls around in shock.
O. Addison:
You!? What the hell are you doing here? Look--Brujah:
I know you got my letter. Sorry I couldn't talk to you face-to-face, but I was in the hospital that night. I kinda figured that'd be how it is, considering I was up against Chris Champlain. The point is... you got my letter. Did you do anything about it?O. Addison:
Hey. I'm due to defend these titles in a couple minutes. I don't NEED this right now, okay?Brujah takes a deep breath and shakes his head.
Brujah:
Did you even talk to her?Owen Addison grimaces and rolls his eyes.
O. Addison:
I don't need to talk to her. Just like I don't need to talk to you... so get out of here.Brujah:
You think I need to waste my time with you? Desmond's been my best friend since we were kids, and now he's a maniac wants me dead, and it's my fault. Not only that, the Superstar's breathing down my neck because I've been using a couple of his moves. I've got problems of my own, and plenty of them. I'm not doing this for fun. I'm not doing this because I like you. I DON'T like you... but I'm trying to help you anyway. Do you really have your head that far up your ass with the whole "shut up and wrestle" mentality... or are you a gutless piece of shit who's hiding behind it in case you're wrong?O. Addison:
Get out of my dressing room before I hurt you.Brujah:
Hey... listen.Owen Addison looks at Brujah suspiciously as Brujah pauses and prepares to speak again.
Brujah:
Okay. ... I fucked up at Blood and Thunder. Maybe even before then. I can admit it, but I can't change it, and I can't really fix it. This is as close as I get to fixing it. So I'm gonna tell you one time: go talk to Jennie, and listen to what she has to say. What you make of it after that is up to you. Personally, I'm not holding out much hope. But trust me, you dumb son of a bitch... you really don't wanna fuck up like I did.O. Addison:
Get out. Now.Brujah:
All right. ... My involvement in this where you're concerned ends here. Just so we're clear on that.O. Addison:
Good.Brujah glares at Owen Addison, then shakes his head and leaves the room. When he's gone, Owen Addison rubs his temples and frowns.
O. Addison:
Stupid bimbo won't give up, will she? ... What a pain in the ass...The door opens again, and Paul Canyon steps through.
P. Canyon:
We're up. You ready for the match? ... You don't look ready.Owen Addison sits up, suddenly alert and focused.
O. Addison:
I'm fine. Let's go.Paul Canyon looks at him strangely.
P. Canyon:
Why were you sitting there with your head down and your hands on your head like that if you're fine?O. Addison:
Don't worry about it. I'm ready. Now let's go.P. Canyon:
Is this about--O. Addison:
It doesn't matter what THAT was about. What THIS is about is the VCW World Tag Team Titles... and us defending them. I'm focused. I'm ready. I'm FINE. LET'S GO.Owen Addison walks past Paul Canyon out of the room, and Paul Canyon stares after him.
P. Canyon:
You're starting to get weird on me, man. ... Whatever. Let's just head out and take care of business.Paul Canyon follows Owen Addison out of the room, and the camera fades out on the whole scene.
We're back, and we have to call it like we see it; something's definitely out of the ordinary here. We know that Owen Addison is good at shutting out everything else when it's time to get "in the zone" and focus on a match, but is he a little too good at it? Nobody really seems to have enough information to know what this is all about, but it seems that Owen Addison may be overlooking something important, and it could come back to cost him.
"War Machine" by KISS begins playing over the arena sound system, and the crowd cheers loudly as the Tough Customers, Bass Rogers and "The Star Player" Darren Michaels, come out of the backstage entrance. Dean Sanders isn't with them tonight, as he's backstage preparing for a big opportunity of his own when he meets Gabriel Black one-on-one for the VCW Television Title! But right now, it's time for the Tough Customers to get an opportunity to face the Ontario Colour Show for the VCW World Tag Team Titles! They enter the ring, and Bass Rogers bellows at the crowd as Darren Michaels goes up to one of the middle turnbuckles and poses for them.
And now "Achilles Last Stand" by Led Zeppelin begins playing, and the crowd cheers loudly as the VCW World Tag Team Champions, Owen Addison and Paul Canyon, the Ontario Colour Show, come out of the backstage entrance! They're wearing the VCW World Tag Team Title belts, and we have to call it like we see it, they could be one of the greatest tag teams in VCW history. They jog to the ring and slide inside, and stop briefly to shake the hands of their opponents before posing with the VCW World Tag Team Titles at opposite corners, for what could be the last time. There's no hatred or animosity between these two teams, but there's an overpowering desire for VCW championship gold, and we know that's enough to drive all four of these men to their best performances. Certainly no lingering distraction seems to remain with the Ontario Colour Show; now that they're in the ring, they're all business. Harold Brusco enters the ring and calls for the bell, and that'll start us off in this match!

Darren Michaels beams with pride at seemingly having outwrestled Owen Addison, but his triumph is short-lived before Owen Addison's legs fly up and grab his head in a headscissors!
Darren Michaels quickly pulls free of the headscissors, and they both stand up. Darren Michaels comes forward at Owen Addison, leading with a right hand, but Owen Addison blocks it, kicks him in the midsection, and whips him into the ropes! Paul Canyon leaps to the top rope and springs off, catching Darren Michaels with a springboard spinning leg lariat just before Owen Addison brings him crashing down with the belly-to-back suplex! Rating: ** 1/2
(The Ontario Colour Show retained the VCW World Tag Team Titles.)
The crowd cheers loudly as Owen Addison gets to his feet, hands raised in victory! Paul Canyon comes forward and gives him a hug, and then both of them raise their hands and look to the crowd in victory! Bass Rogers gets up and goes to a corner of the ring, then looks at a camera, yells "SHIT! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT SON OF A BITCH JUST BEAT ME!!", and slumps against the ropes, looking tired and grumpy. Darren Michaels starts to stir as well, and the Tough Customers regroup as the Ontario Colour Show take their title belts and strap them around their waists.
Before they leave, the Ontario Colour Show turn to confront the Tough Customers. Paul Canyon offers a handshake to Darren Michaels, who readily accepts it, and Owen Addison offers a handshake to Bass Rogers. Bass Rogers gives him a grumpy stare for a few seconds, then takes his hand and shakes it! A camera zooms in close to hear Bass Rogers tell him "Next time, kid, I'm gonna KICK YOUR ASS," and then he laughs loudly, pulls Owen Addison into a hug, and slaps him on the back a few times! Owen Addison smiles politely until he can squirm free from the hug, and then these four men begin heading backstage. No doubt these two tag teams will cross paths again with the titles on the line, but tonight, the Ontario Colour Show have come away with the victory!
With everybody backstage, we're going to head on through to our next match. "Moneytalks" by AC/DC begins playing over the arena sound system, and the crowd seems confused for a moment by the new music, but then begins cheering as Dean Sanders comes out of the backstage entrance, dressed to wrestle! Aside from his earlier run-in with Devaccio Pola tonight, we know that he has a big opportunity here coming up, as he gets the chance to face Gabriel Black for the VCW Television Title, one-on-one! Dean Sanders walks to the ring and climbs inside, then rolls his shoulders and neck to stretch out before the match. He takes his wrestling very seriously, and you know he's ready for this big match ahead of him.
But now "Denial" by Sevendust begins playing over the arena sound system, and the crowd gives a HUGE round of boos as the VCW Television Champion, Gabriel Black, comes out of the backstage entrance, accompanied by Derek Cole and Jasmina Chastity! He's also dressed to wrestle, and he's smiling to himself as he makes his way to the ring. Both Dean Sanders and Gabriel Black are great all-around competitors, but Gabriel Black feels that he has the advantage here, and he just may. Nobody has won more high-stakes matches or overcome what seemed like steep odds in VCW more times than Gabriel Black. Dean Sanders is a top-notch competitor, but it's hard to say that anyone is favored in a match with Gabriel Black, under any circumstances! Gabriel Black climbs into the ring and hands the VCW Television Title off to Derek Cole, and Brendan Powers enters the ring and calls for the bell to begin this match!
For the VCW Television Title:
Gabriel Black (c)
vs.

Dean Sanders backs him into the ropes, shoots him off to the other side, and then runs forward and knocks Gabriel Black off his feet with a shoulderblock when he comes off! The crowd cheers, and Dean Sanders follows Gabriel Black into the corner, kicks him in the midsection, and whips him to the opposite corner! Gabriel Black hits the turnbuckles back-first so hard that he flips over the top rope, crashes to the apron, and tumbles out to the floor!
Derek Cole and Jasmina Chastity go over to Gabriel Black's side, trying to console him, but Dean Sanders steps out of the ring and calmly walks up to them, then grabs Derek Cole by the hair while he's distracted with Gabriel Black and punches him square in the face! The crowd cheers loudly, and Jasmina Chastity backs off with a scream, allowing Dean Sanders a clear shot at Gabriel Black! Dean Sanders pulls Gabriel Black up, scoops him up, and drops him face-first on the apron to another burst of cheers from the crowd! Gabriel Black's down, clutching his face, and Dean Sanders just stands over him, stomping at his fallen body! Dean Sanders is giving Gabriel Black a ruthless beating, and the crowd's loving it!
But Jasmina Chastity comes up from behind Dean Sanders and jumps on his back, choking him out from behind! Brendan Powers warns her to stop immediately, but if we know one thing about Gabriel Black it's that he doesn't mind getting disqualified to retain the VCW Television Title! But before that can happen, Dean Sanders grabs Jasmina Chastity's arms and pulls her off of his back, then turns and grabs her sweatshirt and PULLS IT OFF OVER HER HEAD!! The crowd cheers, and the cheers get even louder as they realize that Jasmina Chastity's not wearing a bra under it, though she gets her hands over her breasts before the sweatshirt is all the way off, preventing the cameras from getting a good view. Jasmina Chastity screams in embarrassment and outrage and runs backstage, holding her hands over her breasts the whole way!
And now Dean Sanders clobbers Gabriel Black in the back with a forearm, then rolls him back into the ring and climbs in after him, still holding the sweatshirt! Gabriel Black gets up and throws a punch at Dean Sanders, but Dean Sanders blocks it, kicks him in the midsection, and then wraps the sweatshirt around his neck and uses it to snap mare him to the canvas! Brendan Powers warns him to stop that, and after a four count Dean Sanders complies, then wads up the sweatshirt and throws it into the crowd!
Gabriel Black starts getting back up, but Dean Sanders grabs his right arm and twists it out at his side in a hammerlock, then drives the point of his elbow into the joint of Gabriel's elbow! Gabriel Black winces in pain and goes down to one knee, and Dean Sanders hammers him with a second elbow, driving him down to the mat, then kneels beside him and shifts his grip to put on a kneeling armbar! Gabriel Black grimaces in pain, and Dean Sanders seems pleased with his progress as he keeps the hold on! Everyone knows about the back injury Gabriel Black sustained at Wrestlewar III, but less common knowledge is that he was sidelined for three months with an elbow injury in mid-August last year! Dean Sanders clearly knows, however, and he's trying to vary up his game by exploiting that old injury!
Gabriel Black grits his teeth and begins fighting his way up, and eventually he gets up to his knees and twists around to grab Dean Sanders. Gabriel Black brings Dean Sanders down with a fireman's carry to break the armbar, then flows from that into a rear chinlock! The crowd boos, but Dean Sanders is still fresh and fired up, and he immediately begins fighting his way back to his feet! He gets up, fires off an elbow into Gabriel Black's midsection, and backs into the ropes! Gabriel Black looks up, and Dean Sanders swings at him with a big LARIAT!! But Gabriel Black ducks under it, wraps around behind Dean Sanders, brings him down to the mat with a waistlock takedown, and then floats over into a front facelock!
The crowd boos, and now Gabriel Black's the one who seems pleased as he puts the pressure on the front facelock! Dean Sanders begins fighting his way up, but Gabriel Black keeps his grip, grinding away at the neck of Dean Sanders! Dean Sanders refuses to be daunted, and he fights his way to his feet, then grabs Gabriel Black in a front waistlock, looking perhaps for a Northern Lights suplex! Gabriel Black quickly realizes that, though, and he clobbers Dean Sanders in the back with a forearm smash, then drives a knee into his gut! Dean Sanders stays slumped over, and Gabriel Black grabs him and flings him to the mat with a gutwrench suplex, then floats over for the cover! Brendan Powers counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... Kickout at two by Dean Sanders!
Gabriel Black gets up, flexes his elbow experimentally, and seems to find that it's not that badly hurt yet, then turns back to Dean Sanders and kicks him in the midsection as he gets up. Gabriel Black hooks Dean Sanders in a front chancery, lifts, and brings him down to the mat with a vertical suplex! He floats over for the cover, and intentionally grinds his forearm across the face of Dean Sanders while he's on top of him for the pin! Brendan Powers counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... And Dean Sanders kicks out angrily at two! Gabriel Black starts to pull him up again, but Dean Sanders is getting mad, and he reaches up and rakes Gabriel Black's face! Gabriel Black steps back, stunned, and Dean Sanders bolts to his feet, rushes Gabriel Black, and knocks him for a loop with a big LARIAT!! Gabriel Black spins head over heels from the impact and collapses to a heap on the mat, and the crowd cheers wildly!
Dean Sanders hauls Gabriel Black up, kicks him in the midsection, and hooks him in a front chancery of his own, then brings him crashing to the mat with a quick snap suplex!! Gabriel Black is down, and Dean Sanders hauls him up, kicks him in the midsection, and whips him into a corner of the ring! Gabriel Black hits the turnbuckles back-first and staggers out, cringing in pain, and Dean Sanders lowers his head and flings Gabriel Black high into the air with a big backdrop! Gabriel Black goes flying over the top rope from the impact and crash-lands on the floor, and the crowd erupts!
Gabriel Black starts to get up, but Dean Sanders takes a running start at him and hits him with a BASEBALL SLIDE as he stands!! Gabriel Black flies back into the guardrail and crashes against it, then goes down again! Derek Cole comes over, looking worried, and begins to help him up... but Dean Sanders is going up to the top turnbuckle now, and Gabriel Black and Derek Cole look up just in time for Dean Sanders to leap off the top onto both of them with a FLYING CROSS BODYPRESS TO THE FLOOR!! All three men go down in a heap, and the crowd erupts! Dean Sanders is pulling out every trick in his arsenal against the VCW Television Champion in tonight's big match!
After a few seconds, Dean Sanders gets to his feet, pulls Gabriel Black up, and takes him head-first into the announcers' table! The crowd cheers, and Dean Sanders shoves Gabriel Black up on the table, then climbs up with him and puts on a standing headscissors! Dean Sanders is going to give Gabriel Black a piledriver or power bomb through the table, it appears, but before he can lift Gabriel Black counters it with a backdrop!! Dean Sanders is flung all the way to the floor from on top of the announcers' table, and the crowd gives a sympathetic "ooooh" mixed in with their boos! Gabriel Black just smiles and steps down to continue the assault.
Dean Sanders starts to pull himself back to his feet, but Gabriel Black kicks him in the midsection, then drags him over to the ring and bashes his forehead into the steel ring apron! Noticing that Brendan Powers is counting them out, Gabriel Black rolls back into the ring and stays there, hoping for a countout victory!! But before Brendan Powers's count finishes, Dean Sanders pulls himself up, then grabs Gabriel Black by the ankle and pulls him out under the bottom rope, back out of the ring! That breaks the count, and Dean Sanders continues the assault by with a knee to the midsection, then whips Gabriel Black into the steel guardrail!
Gabriel Black hits the rail back-first and staggers out in pain, and Dean Sanders comes forward and scoops him up over a shoulder, then takes a running start and rams his right shoulder into the steel ringpost! The crowd cheers as Gabriel Black cries out in pain and slumps against the apron, and Dean Sanders steps around the corner and reaches through the corner of the ring to grab Gabriel Black's right wrist, then pulls it straight, draws it back, and pulls it hard against the steel ringpost, trying to fold his elbow backwards against the post! Gabriel Black yells in pain again, and Dean Sanders draws his arm back and does it again!! Brendan Powers warns him to stop using the ringpost as a weapon, and Dean Sanders scowls, but he goes back over to Gabriel Black and rolls him into the ring, then climbs in after him.
Gabriel Black's getting up again, but he's clearly favoring his arm now. He's hurt, and Dean Sanders shows no remorse as he comes right in after him and kicks him in the midsection, then scoops him up and brings him down shoulder-first on a knee with a shoulderbreaker!! The crowd cheers, and Gabriel Black thrashes around in pain on the mat! Dean Sanders grabs his wrist and tries to drop down into a cross armbreaker, but Gabriel Black realizes his predicament and pulls free, then grabs one of Dean Sanders's legs and trips him to the mat! Gabriel Black gets up, holding the leg, and tries to turn Dean Sanders over into a half Boston, but Dean Sanders kicks him away!
Dean Sanders begins getting up, but Gabriel Black grabs him by the hair and knees him in the midsection, then takes him head-first into one of the turnbuckles. Dean Sanders slumps in the corner, and Gabriel Black kicks him in the midsection repeatedly until he slumps to a seated position, then kicks him in the face! Brendan Powers orders him to back up out of the corner, so Gabriel Black does so. He stops briefly and flexes his elbow, and this time he seems to experience quite a bit of pain. He's hurt now, and if he doesn't find a way to put Dean Sanders away soon, he could be in serious trouble!
Dean Sanders starts to get up again, but Gabriel Black comes forward and kicks him in the midsection again, then snap mares him out of the corner to a seated postion. Gabriel Black backs up a few steps, then comes forward and flips over him with a jumping neck snap! Gabriel Black rolls to his feet, gritting his teeth and clutching his arm, and notices with dismay that Dean Sanders is already starting to pull himself up! Gabriel Black comes up behind Dean Sanders, steps in from the side, and brings him down with a Russian legsweep, then floats over him for the cover! Brendan Powers counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... Kickout at two and a half by Dean Sanders!
Gabriel Black looks around, momentarily at a loss, and on the outside Derek Cole catches his look and just shrugs helplessly. Gabriel Black steps out to the apron, then begins going up to the top turnbuckle, but Dean Sanders doesn't stay down long enough! He goes over to the corner and catches Gabriel Black on the way up, then flings him off the top turnbuckle into the center of the ring with a press slam!! Gabriel Black starts to get up, and Dean Sanders runs forward and flips over him to bring him down with a sunset flip! Brendan Powers counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... Kickout at two and a half by Gabriel Black! They both get to their feet, and Dean Sanders rushes Gabriel Black with a LARIAT, but Gabriel Black ducks under it, slips behind Dean Sanders, and flings him back with a RELEASE GERMAN SUPLEX!!
The crowd boos loudly, and Gabriel Black cringes and clutches his arm as he gets back up, but that cut Dean Sanders off in a hurry! Gabriel Black flexes his elbow and rubs at his triceps, trying to work out some of the pain in his arm, then goes back over to Dean Sanders, pulls him up into a knee to the midsection, and whips him to a corner of the ring. Dean Sanders hits the turnbuckles and staggers out, and Gabriel Black pulls him up on his shoulders in a fireman's carry lift, then drives him to the mat with a DEATH VALLEY DRIVER!! That took some exertion from his sore arm, and Gabriel Black flinches in pain, but only for a second or two before he goes for the cover on Dean Sanders! Brendan Powers counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... THR... KICKOUT!! Dean Sanders kicked out at two and three-quarters!
Gabriel Black gets up, looking angry now, and stops to try to rub some life back into his sore arm. After a few seconds, he flexes his elbow again, nods and smiles through the pain, and signals for the Destiny Driver!! The crowd boos, but it looks like Dean Sanders has gotten under Gabriel Black's skin enough that it's come to this! Gabriel Black lifts Dean Sanders in a rear gutwrench and holds him upside-down, but Dean Sanders figures out where he is and begins struggling wildly! Gabriel Black loses his grip on the right side, and Dean Sanders slips out behind Gabriel Black and lands on his feet! Gabriel Black turns around, and Dean Sanders sends him spinning to the mat with a huge LARIAT!! The crowd explodes into cheers! Gabriel Black's down, and Dean Sanders covers! Brendan Powers counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... THR... Kickout at two and three-quarters!
Dean Sanders hauls Gabriel Black up to his feet, knees him in the midsection, and scoops him up, then PLANTS him in the middle of the ring with a Michinoku Driver!! That could do it! Dean Sanders hooks a leg for the cover, and Brendan Powers counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... THR... Kickout at two and three-quarters again by Gabriel Black! Dean Sanders pulls Gabriel Black up from behind this time and grabs him in a rear waistlock, then goes for a German suplex, but Gabriel Black flips out behind him and lands on his feet!! Dean Sanders turns around, and Gabriel Black kicks him in the midsection, pulls him into a front chancery, and hooks his leg for the fisherman suplex!! But Dean Sanders pulls his leg free from Gabriel Black's sore and weakened arm, then breaks Gabriel's grip with a kneelift and shoves him down into a standing headscissors! Dean Sanders lifts him, and drives him down with a huge POWER BOMB! That could do it! We could have a new VCW Television Champion! Dean Sanders covers, and Brendan Powers counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... THRE... KICKOUT AT TWO AND NINE-TENTHS!!
The crowd boos loudly, and on the outside of the ring Derek Cole falls to his knees, looks up at the rafters, and yells "THANK YOU!" in relief. But inside the ring, Dean Sanders still looks determined! He backs away from Gabriel Black, winds up his lariat arm, and waits for Gabriel Black to stand! A nearby camera catches Dean Sanders mutter "C'mon, ya bastard..." as he waits on him! Gabriel Black gets up, turns, and staggers towards Dean Sanders... and just gets WIPED OUT by a huge LARIAT!! The crowd explodes into cheers, and Dean Sanders covers and hooks a leg! Brendan Powers goes down to count... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... THRE... NO, SHOULDER UP!! Again, Gabriel Black cheated death at the last possible instant!!
Dean Sanders pounds his fists into the mat in frustration, then steps out to the apron and begins going to the top turnbuckle. Gabriel Black's stirring, and he starts to get up, but when he sees Dean Sanders nearly at the top turnbuckle he drops back down and rolls out of the ring to the apron! The crowd boos, and Dean Sanders mutters to himself and hops down into the ring, then reaches out and grabs Gabriel Black by the hair on the outside, then pulls him to his feet on the apron! Dean Sanders hooks Gabriel Black in a front chancery to suplex him back into the ring! But Gabriel Black blocks, then lifts himself and SUPLEXES DEAN SANDERS TO THE FLOOR!! The crowd's boos are mingled with a huge chant of "HOLY SHIT!" for that move, and though both men are down and in pain, Gabriel Black may have saved his title!
It almost appears as if there will be a double countout for a few moments, but as Brendan Powers's count grows high, Gabriel Black grabs Dean Sanders and rolls him back into the ring. Gabriel Black follows by stepping up to the apron, then climbing to the top turnbuckle, but he's a little slow in his ascent and Dean Sanders is up to meet him! Dean Sanders cuts Gabriel Black off with a few punches to the midsection, then climbs up to the top with him! They're both on top, and Dean Sanders knees Gabriel Black in the midsection, then hooks him in a front chancery and lifts, but Gabriel Black blocks it! He gouges Dean Sanders in the eyes, then shoves him off of the turnbuckle to the boos of the crowd!! Dean Sanders gets right back up, but Gabriel Black comes off at him with the DESTINY HAMMER!! It connects!! The crowd boos loudly as Dean Sanders collapses to the mat, and Gabriel Black crawls across him for the cover! Brendan Powers counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... THREE!! Gabriel Black retains the title!!
Gabriel Black pinned Dean Sanders with the Destiny Hammer in 0:24:28.
Rating: *** 3/4
(Gabriel Black retained the VCW Television Title.)
The crowd boos as Gabriel Black stands up, raising his good left arm in victory. Derek Cole enters the ring, holding the VCW Television Title, and comes from behind Gabriel Black to strap it around his waist. This was a truly hard-fought match, and both men gave it their all as they fought through the best they had to offer, but as he has done so many times before, Gabriel Black pulled through with just a little extra ruthlessness and cunning at the right time. Gabriel Black is the winner, and the VCW Television Champion, but the fans aren't happy about it.
We're going to take a look backstage now at another man who a lot of VCW fans aren't happy with, David Wright Hubbard! He'll do battle with Lars Coverdale in a Tables Match next, but right now, he's going to be interviewed before the match by Ziggy Adderloaf!
Backstage...
David Wright Hubbard is standing backstage, dressed to wrestle. He's wearing his usual black trunks and kneebrace, and a pair of boots that appear to be made out of alligator skin. Ziggy Adderloaf approaches him.
Z. Adderloaf:
David Wright Hubbard, in a few short moments you have a Tables Match coming up with Lars--D.W. Hubbard:
Let me fix what you just said for you. In a few short moments, I'm about to whip a man's ass. Basically, that's all you need to know.Z. Adderloaf:
We know that after her actions at Spontaneous Combustion, your wife Michelle has been barred from accompanying you to ringside. How does that--D.W. Hubbard:
Shut up. You think it matters if I got her here with me? Like I need some little woman's help to whip a man's ass? Listen to me. And I mean LISTEN to me, boy. I'm a former VCW World Champion. You understand that? You know what that means? It means that about a year ago I proved I was the toughest son of a bitch in this whole damn place by whipping everyone's ass and taking the title belt. What about Lars, huh? He ever win himself a championship belt? You think he--As David Wright Hubbard talks, Lars Coverdale rushes up from behind, still wearing his tight leather pants and dark blue T-shirt, and clobbers him in the back of the head. David Wright Hubbard stumbles forward, and Lars Coverdale grabs him by the hair and takes him head-first into the cinderblock wall backstage.
David Wright Hubbard crumples to the floor, and Lars Coverdale grabs him and drags him over to a table nearby with stacks of wrestler publicity photos on it. With a sweep of his arm, Lars Coverdale knocks all the photos off of the table in a storm of flying paper, and then he rolls David Wright Hubbard up on the table and climbs up with him. David Wright Hubbard starts to get up, but Lars Coverdale hooks a leg over his head and brings him down with a Rocker Dropper through the table! The Tables Match hasn't even started yet, but already David Wright Hubbard went through a table!
David Wright Hubbard is laid out in the wreckage of the table, but Lars Coverdale just bends down, grabs his hair, and hauls him back up, then goes over to the curtain that separates the arena from the backstage area. He tosses David Wright Hubbard through, and steps through himself...
... and the camera view changes in time to see David Wright Hubbard come flying out of the backstage curtain and tumble to a stop on the ramp! Lars Coverdale steps out after him a second later, and the crowd is cheering wildly! David Wright Hubbard starts to stand up, but Lars Coverdale draws back a fist and nails him with a big right hand that sends him tumbling a few feet down the ramp! David Wright Hubbard starts to get back up again, but Lars Coverdale advances on him and hammers him with a series of punches, driving him back towards the ring, then grabs him by the hair and rams him head-first into the ring apron! He rolls David Wright Hubbard into the ring and climbs in after him, and Jerry Rogers enters the ring and calls for the bell to begin this match!
Tables Match:
Lars Coverdale
vs.
David Wright Hubbard
David Wright Hubbard starts to get up, but Lars Coverdale advances on him and drills him with three big right hands, backing him into a corner of the ring, then whips him to the other corner! David Wright Hubbard hits the turnbuckles and staggers out, and Lars Coverdale measures him for a second, then tags him on the jaw with a SUPERKICK!! David Wright Hubbard goes down flat on his back, and the crowd explodes into cheers! Lars Coverdale could have this one won already, but he doesn't have a table out and ready!
Lars Coverdale rolls out of the ring, pulls a table out from under the ring, and slides it inside, but then he reaches under the ring again and pulls out an umbrella! Lars Coverdale slides into the ring, and David Wright Hubbard's getting to his feet, but Lars Coverdale jabs the tip of the umbrella into his midsection, doubling him over, then raises the umbrella high in the air and brings it down across David Wright Hubbard's back! David Wright Hubbard goes down face-first to the mat, and the umbrella comes open after the impact. Lars Coverdale folds the umbrella up again, then pulls David Wright Hubbard up, pulls the umbrella across his body, and gives him an umbrella-assisted Russian legsweep! The crowd cheers again!
Lars Coverdale throws the ruined umbrella out of the ring, then grabs the table and sets it up in a corner of the ring. He pulls David Wright Hubbard up and whips him into that corner, but David Wright Hubbard stops and puts the breaks on before he collides head-on with the table! Lars Coverdale charges in after him and lashes out with another superkick, but David Wright Hubbard dodges to the side, then rushes him and knocks him off his feet with a big LARIAT!! The crowd boos, and David Wright Hubbard grins and points to his brain, then suddenly turns serious and begins stomping at Lars Coverdale's fallen body!
Lars Coverdale starts to get up, but David Wright Hubbard knees him in the midsection to double him over, smashes him with a forearm across the back, and then whips him into the ropes. Lars Coverdale hits the ropes and starts to come off, but David Wright Hubbard rushes forward and nails him with a big boot while he's on the ropes, knocking him out over the top rope to the floor! Lars Coverdale goes down in a heap at ringside, and David Wright Hubbard climbs out after him, then lifts him up and drops him throat-first across the guardrail! Lars Coverdale slumps to the floor, and David Wright Hubbard goes and looks under the ring, then pulls out a Teflon-coated frying pan!
Lars Coverdale starts getting up, but David Wright Hubbard whacks him over the head with the frying pan, sending him back down to the floor. David Wright Hubbard sets the frying pan on the steel ringsteps, then grabs Lars Coverdale by the hair, drags him over, and shoves his face down on the frying pan crudely! David Wright Hubbard looks up and finds a camera, then continues to hold Lars Coverdale's face on the frying pan as he shouts "WELCOME TO CHEZ DAVE!! TODAY'S SPECIAL IS SOUTHERN-FRIED DUMBASS!!" and then he brings a forearm down on Lars Coverdale's head and lets him flop to the floor!
David Wright Hubbard hits Lars Coverdale in the back with the frying pan, then tosses it aside to haul Lars Coverdale up by the hair and ram him head-first into the steel ringpost! Lars Coverdale goes limp, and David Wright Hubbard drags him over to the announcers' table and pulls him into a standing headscissors! Since the announcers' table is, after all, a table, he could win the match by putting Lars Coverdale through it! He lifts him for a power bomb, but Lars Coverdale finds the strength to hammer him with repeated punches to the face, and David Wright Hubbard falls backwards under Lars Coverdale... but conveniently drops him face-first on the ring apron as he does!! Lars Coverdale's face bounces off the apron, and both men are down!
After several seconds, David Wright Hubbard gets up and pulls Lars Coverdale to his feet. Lars Coverdale is bleeding slightly from the forehead after bumping his head on the apron, and David Wright Hubbard just kicks him in the midsection, then rolls him back into the ring. David Wright Hubbard also stops to take apart the steel ringsteps, and he slides the top half of the steps into the ring as well. With that done, he turns to enter the ring himself, but Lars Coverdale is up, and he uses a baseball slide to send the top of the steel steps into David Wright Hubbard!! David Wright Hubbard goes down on the outside, and Lars Coverdale climbs to the top turnbuckle, then leaps off at him with a CORKSCREW PLANCHA!! David Wright Hubbard goes down under Lars Coverdale, and the crowd erupts into cheers!!
Both men are down on the floor for a few seconds, and then Lars Coverdale rolls over, crouches on top of David Wright Hubbard, and starts beating the hell out of him with repeated right hands! David Wright Hubbard finally manages to throw him off after several seconds, then begins standing up, but Lars Coverdale grabs him and whips him into the steel guardrail! David Wright Hubbard hits the rail and slumps against it, and Lars Coverdale rushes forward and knocks him over the rail and into the laps of the people in the front row with a SUPERKICK!!
Several fans gather around David Wright Hubbard and touch him, and one pours a glass of beer on him, prompting David Wright Hubbard to turn and smack him with a backhand! And Lars Coverdale climbs over the rail now and starts hammering David Wright Hubbard with punches! David Wright Hubbard staggers back, and a big right hand from Lars Coverdale sends him down in the crowd again! Some fan from the second row hands Lars Coverdale a Warlock electric guitar with a black body, and Lars Coverdale takes it, tries to play it, and his bloody face gets a disgusted look on it for a second. Then he raises the guitar high over his head and brings it down across David Wright Hubbard's back when he starts to get up! The Warlock guitar's body explodes into splintered wood upon impact; evidently it was a relatively flimsy and shoddy piece of equipment!
David Wright Hubbard's down again, though, and Lars Coverdale hauls him up and tosses him back over the guardrail into the ringside area. David Wright Hubbard stands up, staggering around, and Lars Coverdale springs up on the guardrail, then leaps off with a FLYING CROSS BODYPRESS!! David Wright Hubbard goes down under Lars Coverdale, and Lars crouches over him and rains more fists down on his face! After a flurry of punches, Lars Coverdale grabs David Wright Hubbard by the hair and starts to pull him up, but David Wright Hubbard reaches up and nails him with a LOW BLOW!!
The crowd boos, and Lars Coverdale goes down, curled up on the floor with blood trickling from his forehead. David Wright Hubbard gets up, hurting and fatigued, and staggers over to the timekeeper's table. He leans there for a second, resting, then hauls the timekeeper up, grabs his chair, and walks over to Lars Coverdale with it! Lars Coverdale's starting to get up, and David Wright Hubbard raises the chair high above his head and SCRAMBLES HIS BRAINS with a huge blow from the chair! Lars Coverdale goes down in a pile of quivering flesh, and David Wright Hubbard raises the chair and brings it down hard on his back! Lars Coverdale convulses with the impact, and David Wright Hubbard does it again! He stops to yell "HOW DO YOU LIKE IT WHEN SOMEONE BEATS YOUR ASS WITH A CHAIR, HUH!?" and then raises the chair and hits Lars Coverdale in the back with it a third time!!
David Wright Hubbard throws the chair aside, then rolls Lars Coverdale into the ring and climbs in after him. He picks up Lars Coverdale and sets him on the top turnbuckle, facing the crowd, then grabs the table and sets it up a fair distance behind him. David Wright Hubbard steps out to the apron and climbs up to the top turnbuckle with Lars Coverdale, then pulls him into a standing headscissors! He's going to try to put him through the table with a top-rope power bomb, but it looks like he may have set the table up too far back!! David Wright Hubbard lifts Lars Coverdale, but Lars Coverdale counters it with a TOP-ROPE FRANKENSTEINER!! David Wright Hubbard bumps the table with his ankles on the way down, but that isn't enough to break it! The table was set up too far back, or Lars Coverdale would've just won this match!
As it is, both men are down for several seconds. Lars Coverdale starts getting up first, and he hauls David Wright Hubbard to his feet and sets him up on the table. He climbs up on the table with David Wright Hubbard and pulls him up into a standing headscissors, but David Wright Hubbard counters with a backdrop! Lars Coverdale crashes to the mat, and David Wright Hubbard steps down from the table and slumps to his hands and knees. These two guys have just beaten the living daylights out of each other in this match!
After a few seconds, David Wright Hubbard gets up and grabs the top half of the steel ringsteps. Lars Coverdale's starting to get to his feet, and David Wright Hubbard charges him with the steps in his hands, but Lars Coverdale brings him down with a drop-toe hold, and David Wright Hubbard falls and HITS HIS FACE ON THE STEPS!! The crowd cheers, and David Wright Hubbard's skull bounces off the steel, and he flops over on his back! Now it appears that David Wright Hubbard is bleeding from the forehead as well! Lars Coverdale gets up, and David Wright Hubbard slowly pulls himself up, doubled over! Lars Coverdale comes forward and brings him down with a ROCKER DROPPER!! The crowd explodes into cheers again!
David Wright Hubbard's down, and Lars Coverdale steps into a corner, smacks the side of his thigh, and begins stomping the mat rhythmically! He's warming up for a superkick! David Wright Hubbard turns and staggers in his direction, and Lars Coverdale takes aim and FLOORS him with a big superkick!! David Wright Hubbard's down! Lars Coverdale slumps wearily against the ropes for a second, then pulls David Wright Hubbard up and rolls him onto the table! David Wright Hubbard's lying on his back on the table, bleeding heavily, and Lars Coverdale steps out to the apron and begins climbing to the top turnbuckle! The crowd cheers loudly, and Lars Coverdale reaches the top and takes flight with the FROG SPLASH!! But David Wright Hubbard ROLLS OFF OF THE TABLE!! Lars Coverdale lands on the table and crashes through it, and Jerry Rogers calls for the bell! Damn it, David Wright Hubbard stole a victory!!
Table Match:
David Wright Hubbard defeated Lars Coverdale in 0:11:49.
Rating: ** 3/4
David Wright Hubbard rolls out of the ring, and Lars Coverdale looks up from the wreckage of the table in frustration! David Wright Hubbard got his ass kicked, but somehow he had the presence of mind to roll off of the table in the end, and Lars Coverdale has effectively defeated himself! The crowd boos, and David Wright Hubbard's just dragging himself backstage, not bothering to stick around and celebrate his victory. Lars Coverdale pulls himself up from the wreckage of the table, weary and battered, and points down the aisle at David Wright Hubbard! He yells "COME ON, GET BACK IN HERE!! LET'S FINISH THIS!!" but David Wright Hubbard's just making his exit! He slipped off of the table just in time and won the match, and now he's getting out of here!
Lars Coverdale stares after him in frustration... and then he starts running after him! Lars Coverdale runs after David Wright Hubbard, and disappears into the backstage area! It looks like Lars Coverdale's going to try to chase him down. Maybe if this chase goes far enough, they'll cross paths with Jacques Normandy's carriage as Butch Manson pursues it on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. At this rate, everyone on the VCW roster will end up chasing each other all over Miami!
But we can't follow along to find out how this one ends, since we have to take another look backstage! Despite (or maybe because of) her lengthy appearance in an earlier backstage segment, Melissa DelArmeggio has asked for some time to speak on a topic she considers important. Ziggy Adderloaf is backstage right now to see just what's on Melissa's mind, and we're going to take a look and find out now!
Ziggy Adderloaf is standing by with Melissa DelArmeggio, who's freshly showered after her earlier match with Pauline Vietjohn and is now wearing a regular Unholy Alliance T-shirt.
Z. Adderloaf:
Melissa, you've asked for this time to speak, and I know you must have a lot on your mind. You're fresh off a hot match with Pauline Vietjohn, and later tonight Lance Errington and Troy Black will batter each other senseless, with you as the focus of--M. DelArmeggio:
This isn't about me, Ziggy. Everybody knows by now that I'm not the type to stand in front of a microphone and talk about myself. This is about a friend of mine, and someone else who's taking advantage of her. Right now, somewhere in Japan, Christina and Yuri are probably watching this, or else they're gonna watch it soon on a tape. And if they are, I'd just like to say something to them.Melissa DelArmeggio turns to the camera.
M. DelArmeggio:
Everything I said at Spontaneous Combustion is still true. They won the match; they beat Sadako Momotani and some tramp in a leather cat-suit, and for that they deserve some credit. But I haven't seen anything to convince me that I'm wrong. Christina Ellis stood by and WATCHED as Yuri was physically assaulted and tortured, only intervening at the bare minimum when she had to, to keep the titles safe. It seems to me like she was actually protecting herself; she KNOWS that she wouldn't look so impressive when she's not standing on Yuri's shoulders, and she wanted to keep her free ride. But whatever. The next night, evidently Yuri has bought the whole thing. And then, after embarrassing Yuri with some belittling comments in a friendly voice, like she does, Christina Ellis had something to say to me. I'm not even going to ADDRESS her venomous, delusional tirade, except to say that it was the HEIGHT of unprofessionalism and it nearly cost her her job. After that segment aired, some people from the corporate offices came up to me and apologized to me. They said, "There's no place for that on our show. You say the word, and she's gone." And the only reason I told them not to fire her was because I knew she'd just drag Yuri back to Japan full-time and keep riding her and holding her down over there.
Melissa DelArmeggio pauses.
M. DelArmeggio:
Actually, that's NOT the only reason I told them not to fire her. With Christina here in VCW, I can solve this whole mess my way. And the way I'm gonna solve this is to get Christina Ellis in the ring, one-on-one, and teach her the error of her ways. This isn't about me. I'm doing this for Yuri, so that she can FINALLY get out from under Christina's selfish shadow and shine on her own. Just like I have Lance and Gabriel looking out for me... Yuri, I'm gonna look out for you. Because I'm your friend, and I want what's best for you.Z. Adderloaf:
Don't you think the Pink Kitten's capable of making that choice for herself, though?M. DelArmeggio:
No more than I was when Troy was trying to use me. I wouldn't have listened either. Christina has her wrapped up in empty words and worthless gestures, and she can't see the truth from her position. But that doesn't mean she deserves to be exploited. Next time I see Christina, I'll bash her living skull in and send her back to Japan or whatever Canadian backwoods she came from for good. Then I'll be there for Yuri, with REAL friendship and kindness and respect. Together, as equals, we'll make a name for ourselves.Z. Adderloaf:
As equals? With all due respect, the Pink Kitten is an internationally recognizable champion, and you're... well, when people think of Melissa DelArmeggio, they think of you as Neytron's sister or Troy Black's ex-girlfriend, but not much else. No offense, but it almost sounds like you're the one who wants to ride the Pink Kitten's coattails into the spotlight.Melissa DelArmeggio stares incredulously at Ziggy Adderloaf, blinking back tears.
M. DelArmeggio:
H-how could you even SAY that!? That's... that's just... no!! All I'm trying to do is look out for a FRIEND. You're standing here in professional wrestling's Sodom and Gomorrah, while it's burning to the ground and turning into pillars of salt and whatever all around you, and I'm the ONLY person in this entire damn COMPANY who has consistently held to a high moral standard for my entire career, and you'd even THINK that about me? If there's one thing I've proven, time after time, it's that I don't HAVE the least bit of selfishness in me. I'm kind and generous and loyal to a FAULT. I will sacrifice MYSELF... I will spare NO effort to pry Yuri out of Christina's clutches. If I have to come off the ROOF of an arena with a Frog Splash and wreck my knees and elbows even worse to put her away, I'll do it... because that's how I am, even if IGNORANT people like YOU are too freaking BLIND to see it!!Z. Adderloaf:
Don't you think you're--Melissa DelArmeggio slaps Ziggy Adderloaf in the face, hard.
M. DelArmeggio:
No! You son of a... you... up yours, you jerk! This interview's OVER. I can't BELIEVE you'd talk about me like that! NOBODY in this entire place has any business questioning MY integrity... certainly not YOU.Melissa DelArmeggio storms off angrily, and Ziggy Adderloaf stares after her, confused, as the camera fades out on the backstage scene.
Whatever you believe her motives are, it comes back to the same place; Melissa DelArmeggio is looking to take Christina Ellis down. Christina Ellis and the Pink Kitten will remain in Japan until the Monday after next, so we may hear a response then. Melissa DelArmeggio matching her size and quickness against the polished wrestling technique of Christina Ellis could certainly make for a memorable encounter, and it's looking more likely by the day that that match could come to pass in the future!
But now, without any more delay we'll go straight into our next match! "Kashmir" by Led Zeppelin begins playing, and the crowd boos as Jacob Idol and Rob Solomon of the Unholy Alliance come out of the backstage entrance, accompanied by Jasmina Chastity, who's now wearing a tight-fitting Unholy Alliance T-shirt after her sweatshirt was thrown into the crowd. She's pouting with her arms folded across her chest, and Jacob Idol looks a little surly and angry as well, but Rob Solomon's grinning widely as they come to the ring. They enter the ring and climb inside, and begin awaiting their opponents.
And now "Degenerated" by the Lone Rangers begins playing over the arena sound system, and the crowd cheers wildly as Johnny Smiles and "The California Crippler" Ken Collins come out of the backstage entrance, accompanied by Stacey Lockman! They run to the ring, slapping the hands of a few of the fans in the aisles, and then they slide inside! Jacob Idol and Rob Solomon back up to one corner, and they stop to consult with Jasmina Chastity before the match begins. Bobcat McGavin enters the ring and calls for the bell, and that'll get this big match started!
Johnny Smiles & "The California Crippler" Ken Collins
vs.
Unholy Alliance (Jacob Idol & Rob Solomon)
Jacob Idol starts off the match against Ken Collins, and they lock up in the middle of the ring. Jacob Idol immediately goes for a single-leg takedown, but Ken Collins blocks it, grabs Jacob Idol's arm, and twists it into a hammerlock! Jacob Idol grimaces in pain, and Ken Collins flings him to the mat by the arm, then holds it out straight and drops a leg across it! Jacob Idol shouts and pulls his arm in close to his side, and Ken Collins pulls him up off of the mat, scoops him up, and bodyslams him down to the canvas! Jacob Idol sits up and frantically scoots backwards into his corner, then tags in Rob Solomon.
Rob Solomon steps into the ring against Ken Collins, and they cautiously circle one another for a few seconds. Then Rob Solomon abruptly charges in with a lariat, but Ken Collins ducks! Rob Solomon turns around into a kick to the midsection, and Ken Collins whips him into his corner, then charges in and nails him with an elbowsmash! Rob Solomon slumps against the turnbuckles, and Ken Collins draws back and unloads a loud, violent chop to his chest! Rob Solomon yells and squirms, and Ken Collins chops him across the chest again, then tags in Johnny Smiles.
Ken Collins hauls Rob Solomon out of the corner, and Johnny Smiles slingshots himself over the top rope to come in with a rather clumsy-looking slingshot shoulderblock on Rob Solomon as Ken Collins sweeps his legs from behind! Rob Solomon goes down, and Johnny Smiles pulls him up and drills him in the face with a right hand! Rob Solomon staggers back, and Johnny Smiles backs him into the ropes with two more punches, then whips him to the other side and takes him down with a dropkick when he comes off! Rob Solomon gets up and charges Johnny Smiles, but Johnny kicks him in the midsection, snap mares him to a seated position on the canvas, and grabs him from behind in a rear chinlock!
Rob Solomon's still fresh, and with little hesitation he fights his way up from the mat in the chinlock. He gets back to his feet and drives an elbow into Johnny Smiles's midsection, then grabs him and whips him to a neutral corner, but Johnny Smiles reverses! Rob Solomon goes into the corner and hits the turnbuckles back-first, and Johnny Smiles charges in and rocks him in the corner with a dropkick to the chest! Rob Solomon slumps to a seated position, and the crowd cheers, knowing what's coming up! Johnny Smiles backs up and charges in again, this time coming in with a lower dropkick that catches Solomon in the chest again! And then he grabs his legs, hauls him out of the corner, and flips over him into a jackknife pinning hold! Bobcat McGavin counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... Kickout at two by Rob Solomon! For some reason Johnny Smiles always goes for the jackknife pin after the two dropkicks in the corner, but never beats anybody with it.
Rob Solomon rolls out of the ring, and Jacob Idol drops down from the apron to console him. Jasmina Chastity comes over, and they all go into a huddle and begin discussing strategy. But while they're all clustered together, Johnny Smiles takes a running start at them and leaps through the second and third ropes to dive onto them with an ELBOW SUICIDA!! The crowd cheers wildly, and all four of them go down in a jumbled heap at ringside! After a few seconds, they all begin getting up, but then Ken Collins runs to that side of the ring, climbs up on the top turnbuckle, and comes off to take everyone down with a FLYING CROSS BODYPRESS TO THE FLOOR!! All of them go down again, and the crowd cheers again!
After several seconds, Johnny Smiles pulls himself out of the wreckage, grabs Rob Solomon, and takes him head-first into the ring apron, then rolls him back into the ring. On the outside, Ken Collins is up as well, and he tries to return to his corner, but Jacob Idol grabs his ankle from the floor! Bobcat McGavin turns and admonishes Jacob Idol to stop that and return to his own corner. Meanwhile, inside the ring, Johnny Smiles pulls Rob Solomon up, but Rob Solomon catches him with a LOW BLOW behind Bobcat McGavin's back! The crowd boos, and Johnny Smiles folds right up and collapses to the mat! Rob Solomon smirks to himself, then gets up and starts stomping and kicking his fallen body!
Johnny Smiles starts to get up under the hail of abuse, so Rob Solomon pulls him up and fires off several quick kicks to the side, then breaks him down to one knee with a kick to the side of the leg, steps back to measure him, and then drops him with a kick to the face! Johnny Smiles is down, and Rob Solomon just scoops him up again and gives him a gutbuster! Johnny Smiles doubles over on the mat, clutching his midsection, and Rob Solomon just viciously kicks him a few more times, then drops a knee right into his stomach!
Rob Solomon tags in Jacob Idol, then hooks Johnny Smiles in a front chancery, lifts him, and brings him down stomach-first across the top rope. Jacob Idol comes in and clobbers Johnny Smiles with forearms across the back until he tumbles back into the ring, then crouches behind him and puts on a sleeperhold. But when Johnny Smiles begins to struggle, Jacob Idol starts swaying the sleeperhold back and forth in a slow rhythm and singing "Rock-A-Bye, Baby" in a loud, clear, and surprisingly deep voice! Johnny Smiles seems soothed by the music and begins struggling in slow motion, and then he goes limp!
Jacob Idol finishes singing his lullaby as Bobcat McGavin goes down to check Johnny Smiles's arm. On the apron, Ken Collins is looking horrified, and he yells "WAKE UP, JOHNNY!!" but Johnny Smiles isn't moving! Bobcat McGavin lifts Johnny's arm... and it falls. He lifts it again... and it falls again. Ken Collins and Stacey Lockman exchange a glance, then frantically scramble around to that side of the ring! Bobcat McGavin yells "TWO!" and prepares to check Johnny Smiles's arm a third time, and Ken Collins begins loudly singing the hit James Brown song "Sex Machine" at Johnny, as Stacey Lockman provides the "get on up" background vocal part! Bobcat McGavin checks Johnny Smiles's arm for the third time... and it stays up!!
Ken Collins continues his loud but rather poor-quality James Brown imitation, and then the crowd joins in behind him!! Johnny Smiles begins moving to the rhythm, even as he starts to struggle and fight his way up out of the sleeperhold! He battles up to one knee, then to his feet, and fires off two elbows to the midsection of Jacob Idol, breaking the hold! Then he whips Jacob Idol into the ropes and knocks him down with a clothesline! Johnny Smiles looks all fired up, and he does a funky James Brown-like dance, then finishes it off by doing the splits in the middle of the ring... and he splits the seat of his leather pants in the process. Oh, great. To make matters worse, it looks like he's wearing a pair of Legend of Zelda-themed briefs under them.
Ken Collins goes back to his corner, and Johnny Smiles sheepishly goes over and tags him in. Jacob Idol's back up now, and he rushes Ken Collins as he comes in and begins trading punches with him! After three shots exchanged from each man, Ken Collins takes control, backing Jacob Idol up with a series of rights, then whips him into a neutral corner! He tags in Johnny Smiles, and then runs forward and hits Jacob Idol with an avalanche in the corner! Then Ken Collins backs up, and Johnny Smiles runs forward and hits Jacob Idol with an avalanche in the corner as well!
Rob Solomon has seen enough, and he enters the ring, but Ken Collins and Johnny Smiles cut him off with a double kick to the midsection, then whip him into the corner so that he collides with Jacob Idol in an avalanche-type fashion! Rob Solomon drops down and rolls out of the ring, and Bobcat McGavin begins telling Ken Collins to leave the ring as well... but while he's doing that, Stacey Lockman slides into the ring, charges Jacob Idol, and nails him with an avalanche in the corner! Stacey Lockman quickly slides back out of the ring, looking pleased with herself. Jacob Idol finally staggers out, and Johnny Smiles tags him in the face with a SUPERKICK!!
The crowd cheers, and Johnny Smiles hoists Jacob Idol up on his shoulders in a fireman's carry lift, then spins for the Smiledriver, but Jacob Idol slips out behind him! Jacob Idol clobbers Johnny Smiles with a forearm to the back, then grabs him and gives him a big belly-to-back suplex! The crowd boos, and Jacob Idol gets up and points to his brain. Johnny Smiles starts to get up, but Jacob Idol gives him a swift kick to the midsection when he gets up to his knees, then steps out to the apron. Jacob Idol goes to the top turnbuckle, but Johnny Smiles is up as well! He catches Jacob Idol at the top and prepares to press slam him off, but Jacob Idol reaches down and rakes his eyes! Johnny Smiles turns and staggers away, and when he turns back around, Jacob Idol comes off the top to cut him off with a FLYING CLOTHESLINE!!
The crowd boos, but Jacob Idol is in firm control of the match now. He pulls Johnny Smiles up, pushes him into his corner, and knees him in the midsection a few times, then tags in Rob Solomon. Jacob Idol and Rob Solomon both gang up on Johnny Smiles and begin kicking him in the stomach repeatedly while he's trapped in the corner, until finally Bobcat McGavin orders Jacob Idol to step out. He does so, and Johnny Smiles staggers out of the corner, doubled over, so Rob Solomon hooks him in a front chancery, then flings him to the mat with a snap suplex! He floats over for the cover, and Bobcat McGavin counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... Kickout at two by Johnny Smiles!
Rob Solomon gets up and pulls Johnny Smiles up as well. Rob Solomon pulls Johnny Smiles into position, and then the crowd groans as Rob Solomon applies his dreaded abdominal stretch! Johnny Smiles has taken a lot of shots to the abdomen in this match, and this move could break him down even further, or perhaps even force him to submit! Bobcat McGavin goes down to ask for the submission, and Jacob Idol grabs Rob Solomon's wrist for added leverage! But Johnny Smiles begins struggling violently, and even in Jacob Idol's grip Rob Solomon's wrist is shaking... so Jasmina Chastity reaches up and grabs Jacob Idol's other wrist for even more leverage! Oh, come on!!
Still, Johnny Smiles is flailing around in his attempts to escape the hold, and Jasmina Chastity and Jacob Idol's combined added leverage doesn't seem enough! Jasmina Chastity looks around desperately and sees a single fan in the front row wearing an Unholy Alliance T-shirt! She yells "HELP US OUT HERE!" and reaches out to him, and he reaches over the guardrail and grabs her wrist, seeming happy just to touch Jasmina Chastity more than anything else, but it offers still more leverage! Finally, Stacey Lockman gets tired of watching this and yells "LOOK UP, BOBCAT!!", so Bobcat McGavin looks up and sees the chain of people giving Rob Solomon extra leverage!! He angrily shouts at them, threatening to disqualify the Unholy Alliance, and Jacob Idol and Jasmina Chastity both begin pointing at the fan who was holding Jasmina's wrist, yelling "IT'S HIS FAULT!" Oh, brother.
Bobcat McGavin just rolls his eyes and orders Rob Solomon to break the abdominal stretch. Solomon does so, but then begins arguing with Bobcat McGavin, and while that's going on Jacob Idol reaches in, grabs Johnny Smiles by the hair, and rakes his face across the top rope! The crowd boos, and Rob Solomon turns back to Johnny Smiles, pulls him up by the hair, and brings him down with a SITDOWN FACESLAM!! The crowd boos, and Solomon goes for the cover! Bobcat McGavin counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... Shoulder up at two and a half by Johnny Smiles! He's still in this one yet!
Rob Solomon pulls Johnny Smiles up by the hair and bodyslams him to the canvas, then steps out to the apron. He goes up to the top turnbuckle and leaps off with the KATANA LEGDROP!! But Johnny Smiles rolls out of the way, and Rob Solomon wipes out on the mat! Both men are down! Johnny Smiles begins crawling towards his corner, and Rob Solomon rolls over and tags Jacob Idol. Jacob Idol eagerly enters the ring and charges Johnny Smiles... but he doesn't quite get to Johnny Smiles before he makes the tag!! Ken Collins comes in, all fired up, and Jacob Idol quickly changes his tune, backing up with his hands raised!
Ken Collins enters the ring and drops Jacob Idol with a big right hand, and Jacob Idol falls to his butt and begins scooting backwards, trying to back off! Jacob Idol backs into a corner, pulls himself up to his feet, and cowers from the wrath of Ken Collins! Ken Collins advances on him with a fist drawn back, and Jacob Idol meekly extends a hand to offer a handshake. Ken Collins hesitates, and Jacob Idol reaches up with an eye poke, but Ken Collins grabs his wrist to block it! He keeps his hold on Idol's wrist and begins kicking him in the midsection repeatedly! With each kick, Jacob Idol hops up in the air and doubles over in mid-air, and after eight of these kicks, Ken Collins whips Jacob Idol to the opposite corner! Jacob Idol hits the turnbuckles back-first and staggers out, and Ken Collins flings him high into the air with a big backdrop!
Rob Solomon enters the ring and charges Ken Collins with a lariat, but Ken Collins ducks and grabs him on the way, seamlessly taking him down by the arm and flowing into the CALIFORNIA CROSSFACE!! The crowd explodes into cheers, but Rob Solomon's not the legal man! Jacob Idol starts getting up, but Johnny Smiles enters the ring and unloads on him with a series of big punches! Jacob Idol blocks one and goes for a kick to the midsection, but Johnny Smiles grabs his foot and swings him around by it, then grabs him from behind and gives him a big atomic drop!! Jacob Idol roars in pain, clutching his butt with both hands, and hops forward from the impact so far that he lands stomach-first on the top rope and tumbles outside to the floor!
Johnny Smiles steps back out to the apron, and Ken Collins releases the California Crossface on Rob Solomon and then tags him back in. Johnny Smiles comes in again, and the two of them whip Rob Solomon into the ropes, then knock him down with a big double dropkick when he comes off the other side! Jacob Idol climbs back into the ring, and Johnny Smiles backs into the ropes to charge him, but Jasmina Chastity reaches in and trips him, throwing him off-balance and allowing Jacob Idol to rush forward and cut him down with a clothesline! Stacey Lockman yells in outrage and starts chasing Jasmina Chastity around the ring, but the damage has been done!
Jacob Idol pulls Johnny Smiles up from behind, then hooks him for an inverted DDT, but Ken Collins grabs HIM from behind in a waistlock! Jacob Idol is startled into releasing Johnny Smiles, and Ken Collins flings him back with a RELEASE GERMAN SUPLEX!! The crowd explodes into cheers! Johnny Smiles is back on his feet, recovering, but now Jasmina Chastity scrambles into the ring in an effort to escape Stacey Lockman's wrath! Bobcat McGavin orders her to get out, but she's refusing... and Stacey Lockman follows her into the ring! Jasmina Chastity tries to stomp and kick at her, but Stacey Lockman just gets up and floors her with a right hand! All hell's breaking loose in here!
And now Rob Solomon is also up, and he lashes out at Ken Collins with a kick to the head! But Ken Collins catches his foot, then brings him down into the ANKLE LOCK SUBMISSION!! Stacey Lockman whips Jasmina Chastity into the ropes, and takes her down with a jumping kneelift, then grabs her legs and begins to apply a figure-four leglock!! Jacob Idol gets up groggily, but Johnny Smiles is waiting on him, and he lifts him on his shoulders in a fireman's carry and plants him with the SMILEDRIVER! Stacey Lockman has Jasmina Chastity in the figure-four leglock, and Ken Collins has Rob Solomon in the ankle lock submission, and they're both tapping out as Johnny Smiles covers Jacob Idol!! Bobcat McGavin counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... THREE!! Johnny Smiles wins!
Johnny Smiles and Ken Collins defeated The Unholy Alliance (Jacob Idol and Rob Solomon) when Smiles pinned Idol with the Smiledriver in 0:15:33.
Rating: ** 1/2
The arena is shaking with the crowd's cheers as Johnny Smiles gets up and raises his hands in victory! Stacey Lockman and Ken Collins release their holds on their opponents, and the Unholy Alliance members all roll out of the ring. Ken Collins and Johnny Smiles exchange a high five, and Stacey Lockman gives each of them a kiss on the cheek. They've just defeated one of the top-ranking tag teams in VCW, and given that Johnny Smiles and Ken Collins aren't even a regular tag team, this could be considered an upset!
Jacob Idol, Rob Solomon, and Jasmina Chastity are all slinking away up the entrance ramp, yelling things at Johnny Smiles and Ken Collins as they make their way backstage. You know that Gabriel Black surely wanted them to take Johnny Smiles and Ken Collins down a few pegs, and obviously that didn't happen tonight! Johnny Smiles is still on fire with this victory, and Ken Collins is starting to build some momentum again after his narrow defeat in the Ladder Match at Spontaneous Combustion!
As Johnny Smiles and Ken Collins conclude their celebration, we're going to take a look backstage! Our main event, a Triple Threat Match for the VCW World Title is up next, in which the VCW World Champion Crimson will defend his title against Troy Black and the VCW Intercontinental Champion, Lance Errington. Let's take a look backstage before the action gets underway!
Backstage...
Ziggy Adderloaf is standing in a hallway backstage, and he appears to be waiting for someone. After several seconds Crimson wanders onto the scene, wearing the VCW World Title belt, and begins walking past him. Ziggy Adderloaf walks after him quickly.
Z. Adderloaf:
Um, Crimson, in a few moments you have a VCW World Title defense in a Triple Threat Match against Lance Errington and Troy Black. Could you share your thoughts going into that match?Crimson just stops in his tracks, then turns and glares at Ziggy Adderloaf.
Crimson:
Shut the fuck up and get out of my face, you worthless little prick.Crimson turns and begins walking down the hall again, and Ziggy Adderloaf stares after him in fear and confusion as the camera fades out on the backstage scene.
As we've seen, Crimson is a mean, nasty character who doesn't seem to like anyone at all. But it remains to be seen how he'll fare against the crafty, talented VCW Intercontinental Champion, Lance Errington, or against Troy Black, who's filled with rage and seems eager to destroy Errington! We're about to find out, though!
"Perfect Strangers" by Deep Purple begins playing over the arena sound system, and the crowd boos as Lance Errington comes out of the backstage entrance, accompanied by Derek Cole. He's wearing his usual black-and-silver robe and the VCW Intercontinental Title, and he looks a little bit concerned and preoccupied as he walks down the ramp. He should be, since he's facing an enraged Troy Black and the destructive force known as Crimson... and hold it, Troy Black just came running out of the backstage entrance behind him, carrying a chair!! The crowd bursts into a huge round of cheers, and Troy Black runs down the ramp and whacks Lance Errington in the back with a steel chair before he even reaches the ring!
Lance Errington goes down, and Derek Cole scrambles away in terror as Troy Black raises the chair and strikes Lance Errington again! He stands over him for a few seconds, and Derek Cole timidly begins to step forward, so Troy Black throws the steel chair at him! Derek Cole ducks and covers his face with his hands, and Troy Black pulls Lance Errington up by the hair and flings him down on the ramp with a snap mare, then crouches over him and begins pummelling him with right hands! The match hasn't even started yet, and Troy Black's already trying to murder Lance Errington!
But now "Walk" by Pantera begins playing over the arena sound system, and the crowd boos as the VCW World Champion, Crimson, steps out of the backstage entrance! He takes off the VCW World Title at the top of the ramp, then charges down the ramp and just BLASTS Troy Black right in the head with the title belt to a huge round of boos! It appears that Troy Black was too focused on Lance Errington to look up and face the threat posed by Crimson. But now he has no choice, as Crimson hauls him up by the hair and drags him into the ring! Harold Brusco enters the ring and calls for the bell, and that'll get this match started!
Triple Threat Match:
For the VCW World Title:
Crimson (c)
vs.
Troy Black
vs.
Lance Errington
Crimson pulls Troy Black up by the hair, then nails him with a huge headbutt, sending him limp to the mat. After Troy Black whacked Lance Errington with a chair, and Crimson scrambled Troy's brains with a shot from the VCW World Title, Crimson may have an easy time of it in this match! Since this is a Triple Threat Match, the first pinfall will win the VCW World Title, so if Troy Black pins Lance Errington, he becomes VCW World Champion, and vice-versa. It's also worth noting that Lance Errington's VCW Intercontinental Title is not on the line in this match, so he has nothing to lose but his physical well-being.
Troy Black is down, and Crimson backs into the ropes, then comes off and drops a leg on his face. He lazily crawls onto Troy Black for the cover, and Harold Brusco counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... Kickout at two by Troy Black! This is the legendary resilience and toughness he has shown all through his career! Crimson glares at him, hooks a leg, and cinches down tightly on a second cover, and Harold Brusco counts again... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... Kickout at two again by Troy Black! Crimson glares at him and yells, "FINE THEN, I'LL JUST BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF YOUR PUNK ASS SOME MORE!!" and then hauls Troy Black up and knees him in the midsection!
Crimson grabs Troy Black by the shirt with both hands, lifts him in the air, and flings him roughly into a corner of the ring. Troy Black staggers out, and Crimson grabs him and whips him into the opposite corner, then charges in and nails him with a clothesline! Troy Black starts to stagger out of the corner again, but Crimson shoves him back against the turnbuckles and drives knees into his midsection repeatedly! And then raises a leg and puts a boot to Troy's throat, choking him in the corner! Harold Brusco counts, and at four, Crimson eases up on the choke, then grabs Troy Black by the hair and whips him to a seated position with a crude snap mare! Troy Black's just sitting there, halfway out of it, and Crimson spitefully kicks him in the back!
On the outside of the ring, Derek Cole helps Lance Errington up to his feet, and he's gesturing to the back. Derek Cole seems to be advising Lance Errington to take a walk on this match, but Lance Errington shrugs him off, throws off his robe, and hands the VCW Intercontinental Title to Derek Cole, then walks to the ring and slides inside! Crimson gives Lance Errington a suspicious look, but Lance Errington points to himself and Crimson, then down at Troy Black, and says something and smiles! He seems to be suggesting that they team up to beat Troy Black!
Crimson frowns and shakes his head in disgust, but then he pulls Troy Black up into a full nelson and holds him for Lance Errington. Lance Errington gets a cocky smirk on his face and does a quick Muhammed Ali shuffle, then rolls his shoulders to loosen up! He steps forward and hammers Troy Black with a combination of fists to the midsection, then gives him a quick jab to the face! Troy Black squirms and kicks at Lance Errington, but Errington easily avoids the kick, then draws back and hammers two big right hands right into Troy Black's face! There's nothing Troy Black can do, trapped in Crimson's full nelson! And then Lance Errington draws back, measures him, and BLASTS him with a huge haymaker!
Crimson releases the hold, and Troy Black slumps to the mat in a heap. Lance Errington grins and turns around to the crowd, raising his hands in victory to a round of boos. But Crimson just laughs, then charges Lance Errington and clocks him in the back of the head with a huge forearm smash! Lance Errington goes down on his face, and Derek Cole stomps in frustration and yells "AW, SHIT!" on the outside! Crimson pulls Lance Errington up, scoops him over his shoulder, and then drops him face-first on the top turnbuckle in a corner with a Snake Eyes!
Troy Black's starting to get up, but Crimson grabs him by the hair and the back of the shirt and hauls him up into an enormous kneelift, then lifts him high over his head in a Gorilla Press! Crimson holds Troy Black over his head for a second, and Lance Errington starts to get up, so Crimson throws Troy Black down on him! Troy Black lands on top of Lance Errington and stays there, and Harold Brusco shrugs, then goes down to count the pin... ONE!! ... But at one, Crimson comes forward and drops an elbow on Troy Black's back!
The VCW World Champion is dominating this match right now, no questions asked. He pulls Troy Black off of Lance Errington and clobbers him with a forearm, then scoops him up and brings him down across a knee with a backbreaker! He crouches over Troy Black for a pin... no, wait, that's a chokehold! Crimson is blatantly choking Troy Black! Harold Brusco orders him to stop and begins his count, and Crimson breaks at four. Harold Brusco warns him about choking, but Crimson just ignores him and starts choking Troy Black again!
This time, Lance Errington is up, and he comes from behind and clobbers Crimson with a forearm to the back of the head! Crimson just looks disgusted and starts to stand up, completely ignoring Lance Errington as he gives him several more forearm shots to the back! He just turns to Lance Errington with a look on his face that says "now what did you go and do THAT for?" and then grabs him by the hair and DROPS him with a huge punch! Lance Errington goes down hard and scrambles to his feet, and Crimson backs him into the ropes with a series of punches, then whips him to the other side... but Lance Errington reverses! Crimson comes off the ropes, and Lance Errington takes him down with a big SPINEBUSTER!! That's an impressive display of power by the VCW Intercontinental Champion!
Lance Errington glares at Crimson and crouches over him, raining right hands down on his face! He's attacking Crimson all-out, as he'll probably have to do to hurt him! But Troy Black is up now, and he rushes Lance Errington and tackles him off of Crimson, then starts hammering HIM with punches! Lance Errington throws Troy Black off and rolls out of the ring to make his escape, but Troy Black just grabs the top rope and flings himself onto Lance Errington with a PESCADO BODYPRESS!! Lance Errington goes down under Troy Black on the floor, and Troy Black resumes opening up on him with a rain of rage-fueled punches!
Troy Black has snapped into a berserk frenzy, and he's paying no attention to anything else right now! Crimson looks slightly amused as he gets up and sees Troy Black beating on Lance Errington on the outside, but Derek Cole has seen enough! He comes from behind and pulls Troy Black's hair to get him off of Lance Errington, but Troy Black turns around, casually drops him with a throat jab, and turns back to keep pummelling Lance Errington without missing a beat! Now Crimson steps out over the top rope and begins walking up to them! Derek Cole starts getting up, but almost as an afterthought Crimson grabs him by the throat, lifts him up, and flings him down on the thinly-padded concrete with a half-hearted Chokeslam!
Derek Cole is laid out, and Crimson turns his attention back to Troy Black and Lance Errington, hammering Troy Black with a forearm to the back. Troy Black can NOT afford to keep ignoring Crimson like this; as long as Crimson's able to stay on his feet and keep using his huge offense, nobody in this match is safe. Crimson picks Troy Black up and lifts him over his head in a Gorilla Press again, then carries him over to the guardrail! He prepares to drop Troy Black throat-first on the guardrail, but Lance Errington crawls up behind Crimson and hits him with a low blow! Crimson goes down under Troy Black!
Lance Errington pulls Troy Black off of Crimson, rolls him back into the ring, and climbs in after him. Troy Black gets up, but Lance Errington cuts him off with a kick to the midsection, then pulls him into a standing headscissors! He hooks his arms, perhaps looking for the Swan Song, but Troy Black counters it with a backdrop! When Lance Errington gets up, Troy Black grabs him and whips him to the ropes, but Lance Errington reverses. Troy Black comes off the ropes, and Lance Errington swings with a clothesline, but Troy Black ducks under it! Troy Black runs into the ropes on the other side and prepares to come off, but that's where Crimson is, and he reaches in and grabs Troy Black's ankle to trip him, then pulls him out under the bottom rope!
Crimson takes a swing at Troy Black, but Troy Black blocks it, then nails Crimson with a quick throat jab! Crimson staggers back, clutching his throat, and falls to one knee gasping for air, and Troy Black just doesn't pay him any more mind as he slides right back into the ring after Lance Errington! Errington rushes forward and clobbers him with a double axhandle to the back, but Troy Black shrugs off the blow and brings Lance Errington down with a double-leg takedown, then crawls on top of him and begins punching his lights out again! Troy Black's blinded by his single-minded hatred for Lance Errington, and he doesn't notice Crimson as he steps in over the top rope behind him!
Crimson comes up from behind Troy Black and grabs him in a full nelson, then lifts him and shakes him a little before flinging him to the mat in a crushing FULL NELSON SLAM!! The crowd boos, and Crimson hauls Lance Errington up by the hair, gives him a knee to the midsection, and flings him back with a devastating gutwrench suplex!! Crimson's in firm control again! He pulls Troy Black up and whips him into the ropes, then nails him with a big boot to the face when he comes off! He prepares to come off with the Black Dagger... but then sees Lance Errington getting up nearby, and he turns and jumps off onto him with a FLYING CROSS BODYPRESS instead!! The crowd still cheers, but their cheers are somewhat subdued as they seem to realize that Troy Black's lack of attention to Crimson is a mistake!
Troy Black and Lance Errington both stay down for a few seconds, and then Troy Black goes to pull Lance Errington up, but gets caught with a low blow!! Troy Black doubles over and goes down, and Lance Errington climbs back up on the apron. But now Crimson is up, and he grabs Lance Errington from inside the ring! Crimson grabs Lance Errington by the hair and prepares to haul him back in, but Lance Errington reaches up and gouges his eyes! Crimson staggers back, and Lance Errington climbs to the top turnbuckle, then leaps off with a FLYING AXHANDLE!! He hits Crimson square in the face, and the VCW World Champion goes down! Lance Errington covers, and Harold Brusco counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... And a BIG kickout by Crimson at two!

Troy Black crashes back down to the floor, and Lance Errington turns around and staggers in Crimson's direction... and Crimson walks forward and knocks him down with a big boot to the face!!
Crimson grins and pulls Lance Errington up into a standing headscissors. He starts to lift for a power bomb, but Lance Errington blocks it, then counters with a low blow!! He's just handing those around to everyone tonight, and Harold Brusco was stopping to check on Troy Black, so he didn't see it! Crimson stays bent over, and Lance Errington brings him off his feet with a double-leg takedown, then steps through his legs and turns him over into the SCORPION DEATHLOCK!! There are a few cheers, but they're drowned in a chorus of boos. Many fans want to see Crimson lose the VCW World Title, but not to Lance Errington!!
Crimson roars in pain and anger and begins struggling in the Scorpion Deathlock, and Lance Errington grins to himself as he leans back on the hold to apply more pressure! Could he actually make the VCW World Champion tap out? Crimson's strong and won't give up easily, but he's a long way from the ropes! Crimson's struggling, pulling himself towards the ropes... but Troy Black's up, and he slides into the ring behind them! Lance Errington seems pleased with himself as he inflicts more pain on Crimson in the Scorpion Deathlock, but he never sees it coming as Troy Black comes from behind and nails him with a spin kick to the back of the head!!
Lance Errington goes down, and Troy Black hauls him up by the hair, drags him to the nearest corner, and bashes his face into the turnbuckle! Lance Errington turns and staggers away, and Troy Black quickly ascends to the top turnbuckle, then leaps off to take Lance Errington down with a FLYING CLOTHESLINE!! The crowd cheers, but Crimson's getting to his feet... and this time, Troy Black actually remembers him, and he runs up and dropkicks him in the face! Crimson staggers back into the ropes, and Troy Black gives him a series of kicks to the midsection until he doubles over, then grabs him in a headlock and runs with him to bring him down in a bulldog!!

Troy Black is stunned, and Crimson climbs up to the top turnbuckle with him, then stands at the top with him and grabs his throat! Oh, NO... he's going to Chokeslam Troy Black from the top to the floor!! But Troy Black grabs Crimson's wrist, then jumps down to the floor, pulling Crimson off-balance and causing him to fall crotch-first on the turnbuckle!! Troy Black loses his grip on Crimson's wrist halfway down and tumbles to the floor, but he's not badly hurt, and he avoided that possibly career-ending top-rope chokeslam to the floor!
Crimson is up on the top turnbuckle facing the crowd, in a world of pain... and now Lance Errington's up, and he climbs up behind Crimson! He lifts him, and brings him crashing to the mat with a BELLY-TO-BACK SUPERPLEX!! The crowd cheers in spite of the fact that it's Lance Errington doing the move, but their cheers are dampened when Lance Errington floats over for the pin! Harold Brusco counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... And at two and a half, Troy Black reaches into the ring and pulls Lance Errington out by the ankles!
Troy Black grabs Lance Errington by the hair and rams him head-first into the steel ringpost, then reaches down and takes up the protective mats, baring the concrete floor! He pulls Lance Errington over and puts him in a standing headscissors... oh, no! Will he actually... PILEDRIVER ON THE CONCRETE!! The crowd sends up a round of deafening cheers! Good Lord, Lance Errington is OUT, and when the camera goes back to him he has a gushing wound on his forehead! Troy Black just destroyed him!! But Crimson's up, and he rolls out of the ring and comes up from behind Troy Black! Troy's standing over Lance Errington, looking satisfied and breathing heavily... and again, Crimson takes him by surprise and clobbers him in the back!
The crowd boos, and Crimson whips Troy Black into the steel guardrail! Troy Black leaps up on the rail, then springs back at Crimson with an Asai moonsault, but Crimson just catches him out of the air, lifts him up over a shoulder, and then takes a running start and THROWS HIM LIKE A JAVELIN into one of the steel ringposts!! The crowd boos loudly, and Crimson goes down to one knee and takes a few deep breaths, but Troy Black is down after that huge move, and now he's bleeding too! On the other side of the ring, Lance Errington is still dead to the world in a pool of his own blood, and it may be time for somebody to bring out a stretcher for him.
After resting for a few seconds on one knee, Crimson hauls Troy Black up and rolls him into the ring. He steps in over the top rope and looks down at Troy Black with a smirk, but TROY BLACK SITS UP!! He's beaten to hell and his face is drenched in his own blood, but he just sat up! Crimson takes a step back in shock, and his eyes widen in a murderous stare! A camera close-up catches him saying, "Yeah, you just get up, motherfucker..." as Troy Black stands up! Crimson rushes at him with a BIG BOOT... but Troy Black ducks!! Crimson just WIPES OUT Harold Brusco with the boot, then staggers forward and turns around into a kick to the midsection from Troy Black! Troy Black hooks him, and brings him down with a DOUBLE ARM DDT!!
Troy Black steps out to the apron and climbs to the top turnbuckle again, then pulls off his shirt to a high shriek of cheers from the weird punk chicks in the crowd, wipes the blood from his face with it, and flings it into the crowd! He raises his fist in the air... then looks over and sees that Lance Errington is actually starting to move a little bit again. But this time, he regains his focus after a couple of seconds and comes off the top with the BLACK DAGGER!! But Crimson rolls out of the way just in time, and Troy Black just punches the mat! Troy Black may have hesitated a second too long!
Crimson's starting to get up, so Troy Black kicks him in the midsection again, then hooks him for the double arm DDT, but this time Crimson backdrops out of it! Troy Black crashes back-first to the mat, and when he gets up Crimson grabs his throat and gives him a huge CHOKESLAM!! The crowd boos loudly, and Crimson smiles down at Troy Black, but then sees that Lance Errington has now managed to prop himself up at the side of the ring! One of his hands is actually under the ring, and his face is covered in blood. He doesn't seem to have a clue where he is, but Crimson's taking no chances, and he goes over and grabs Lance Errington by the hair from inside the ring! He starts to pull him up, but Lance Errington's concealed hand comes out and NAILS CRIMSON IN THE HEAD WITH A PIPE WRENCH!!
Crimson just topples back to the canvas in a motionless heap, and for a few seconds nobody moves. Troy Black's down, Lance Errington's down, Crimson's down, and Harold Brusco's still down too! Then Lance Errington feebly crawls into the ring as Harold Brusco begins to stir. Crimson's still laid out, and Lance Errington weakly crawls across his chest and hooks a leg! Harold Brusco looks over and sees it! We could have a new VCW World Champion! Harold Brusco weakly raises a hand to count... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... THR... Troy Black reaches over and puts Crimson's foot on the ropes, then points to it!! Harold Brusco stops his count and slumps back down to the canvas, hurt!
Lance Errington gives Troy Black a blood-covered glare, yells "MOTHERFUCKER!" at him, and then stands on shaky legs as Troy Black likewise gets to his feet! Lance Errington takes a wild swing at Troy Black, knocking him down on top of the fallen body of Harold Brusco, but then falls to the canvas himself. Clutching his neck and the back of his head, Lance Errington rolls out of the ring. He may be too hurt to continue after that devastating piledriver on the concrete after all... no, actually he seems to be going for his pipe wrench again!!
But Troy Black's up somehow as well, and he climbs out of the ring and knees Lance Errington in the face while he's knelt down getting the wrench! Lance Errington goes down, and Troy Black grabs him and rolls him up onto the announcers' table, then grabs the wrench himself! Lance Errington gets up to his hands and knees on the table... and Troy Black CLOCKS him with the wrench!! Lance Errington goes limp on the table... and then Troy Black gives him a blood-covered stare full of intense hatred, and draws a thumb across his throat!!
Back in the ring, Crimson is finally moving again, even if that movement is only to roll out of the ring and flop to the floor. But now Troy Black climbs up on top of the announcers' table with Lance Errington, hauls him up, and begins to lift him in a rear gutwrench! He's straining to lift him in his fatigued, battered condition, but he finally gets Lance Errington upside-down in position!! The crowd EXPLODES into cheers!! Troy Black's going to give Lance Errington a Destiny Driver, through the announcers' table!! But Crimson's up, and he just pulled a shovel out from under the ring! Troy Black cinches up his grip on Lance Errington tightly, but Crimson rushes in behind him and HITS HIM IN THE BACK WITH THE SHOVEL!! The crowd boos loudly, and Troy Black and Lance Errington tumble off of the table in a twisted heap!
Crimson throws aside the shovel, then pulls Troy Black up and grabs him by the throat! He lifts him and turns to the table... CHOKESLAM THROUGH THE ANNOUNCERS' TABLE!! Troy Black is laid out in the wreckage!! And then Crimson grabs Lance Errington and shoves him back into the ring! Crimson is breathing hard and staggering, but he climbs in after Lance Errington and stands up! Lance Errington is completely limp as Crimson pulls him up by the hair, then grabs his throat! He lifts him, and drives him down with a CHOKESLAM!! Crimson puts a foot on Lance Errington's chest, but Harold Brusco is completely collapsed and useless... but somebody backstage seems to have finally gotten their act together, because now Bobcat McGavin's running out of the back to replace him! He slides into the ring and counts... ONE!! ... TWO!! ... THREE!! The VCW World Champion retains!
Triple Threat Match:
Crimson defeated Troy Black and Lance Errington when Crimson pinned Errington with the Chokeslam in 0:29:42.
Rating: ****
(Crimson retained the VCW World Title.)
Crimson looks around sweaty and battered, but still grinning to himself as Bobcat McGavin raises his hands in victory. He snatches the VCW World Title away from the timekeeper, then straps it on and grins again as he raises his hands a second time. He'll be the only one who leaves the arena on his feet tonight, you can be sure of that. Both Troy Black and Lance Errington are down in pools of their own blood, utterly destroyed. Troy Black's anger made him set his sights on Lance Errington with a vengeful passion, and now as a consequence both men are laid to waste.
The crowd boos as Crimson poses with the title, but the fact remains that he just went into a match with two of the top contenders for the VCW World Title, two of the best wrestlers in the world, and he may be quite literally the only survivor of this match. In the wake of a victory like this, we have to wonder: can anybody take the VCW World Title from Crimson? We're out of time tonight! We hope you've enjoyed this very special VCW presentation, This Friday in Florida, and we'll see you next Monday night at the usual time with more great action!!
