Results of VCW 08/11/02: Komachi pinned The Pink Kitten after a top-rope power bomb in 0:08:24. Rating: ** ---Notes: Komachi got cocky this time, and the Pink Kitten rallied and gave her a decent fight. The match was markedly improved by making it a less one-sided affair. The Wrecking Crew, Russel Taylor and Tommy Hustle defeated The New Immortals, Monty Pompous and Dave Adams when Russel the Muscle pinned M. Lazzario with the Power Bomb in 0:14:47. Rating: * 1/4 ---Notes: A chaotic lucharesu-esque comedy match, though Dave Adams didn't seem quite able to keep up with the mile-a-minute wackiness of the rest of the participants. Ken Collins pinned Brian Rivera with the Flying Dropkick in 0:05:20. Rating: ** 1/4 (Ken Collins retained the VCW Intercontinental Title.) ---Notes: Glorified squash. Monty Pompous neutralized Stormy Weathers's outside interference, then attacked Brian Rivera on the outside in a gesture that was unwanted by Ken Collins. After the match, Monty Pompous made a pest of himself by constantly flirting with Stacey Lockman, so Ken Collins dragged him into the ring and put him in the California Crossface to a pop from the crowd. The Technicians (Owen Addison, Paul Canyon and Tim Bell) defeated The Hammer of the Gods (Jacob Idol and Julian Page) and Brujah when O. Addison pinned Idol with the Tombstone in 0:16:15. Rating: * 3/4 ---Notes: More of the same from these six, though this match was somewhat less inspired than some of their recent meetings. Virginia defeated Christina Ellis by disqualification in 0:08:23. Rating: 3/4* ---Notes: Stormy Weathers and Komachi made nuisances of themselves in this match, attacking Christina Ellis behind the referee's back until The Pink Kitten felt obliged to run down with a chair and even up the odds, but she was seen and drew a DQ. Johnny Smiles and Lars Coverdale defeated Hell's Bikers (Butch Manson and Jack Norman) when J. Smiles defeated J. Norman by disqualification in 0:12:17. Rating: 3/4* (Hell's Bikers (Butch Manson and Jack Norman) retained the VCW World Tag Team Titles.) ---Notes: Johnny Smiles hit the Smiledriver on Jack Norman and went for the pin, but Butch Manson slid into the ring and bashed him in the skull with a VCW World Tag Team Title belt to draw the DQ. Bass Rogers and Darren Michaels defeated Chris Champlain and Lance Errington when B. Rogers pinned C. Champlain after a power bomb in 0:12:22. Rating: * 1/2 ---Notes: Much of this match, including the outcome, remains the same as the previous meetings between these four men. Rogers and Michaels are racking up quite the record in tag team competition. Casket Match: Crimson defeated The Grave Digger in 0:12:39. Rating: -* 1/4 (Crimson retained the VCW World Title.) ---Notes: This match was nowhere near the quality of the Garcia/Digger Casket Match, which is a shame, because a properly-motivated Crimson could probably have outperformed Garcia. No noteworthy bumps or spots here, just brawling, power moves, and restholds until Lance Errington and Derek Cole came and triple-teamed the Grave Digger with Crimson, finally knocking him out with a pipe wrench and stuffing him in the casket. Bass Rogers ran down as the heels celebrated, then went berserk, whacking everybody with a steel chair.
