Results of VCW 08/14/02: The Wrecking Crew defeated The New Immortals when Blade pinned M. Lazzario with the Breakdown in 0:06:06. Rating: * ---Notes: This time, the match was kept short. It was mostly comedy, but featured all four men stepping it up a notch for a hot finish. Dave Adams and Monty Pompous defeated Russel Taylor and Tommy Hustle when Monty pinned Hustle with the Swashbuckler in 0:07:09. Rating: 1/2* ---Notes: This match was a bit of a style clash, as the strengths and weaknesses of those involved did not mesh well. Tommy Hustle bumped nicely for Monty Pompous at the end, but the match was bereft of good psychology and often slow and plodding. Johnny Smiles, The Pink Kitten and Christina Ellis defeated Virginia, Komachi and Brian Rivera when J. Smiles pinned B. Rivera with the Smiledriver in 0:09:42. Rating: 3/4* ---Notes: Aside from a little wrestling between Christina Ellis and Komachi, this was alternately a brawl and a spotfest all the way through. After the match, Virginia tried to grab Sumiko the stuffed cat from ringside and damage it with a pair of scissors, but The Pink Kitten made the save with a chairshot from the top rope. The Hammer of the Gods (Jacob Idol and Julian Page) defeated The Technicians (Owen Addison and Tim Bell) when J. Page pinned T. Bell with the Swan Song in 0:13:12. Rating: *** ---Notes: This match seemed to demonstrate that the Addison/Bell tag team is still not what the Ontario Colour Show once was. The Hammer of the Gods won this one through superior teamwork and positioning, with a few cheap shots as well. Jennie tried to come to the ring with the Technicians, but Owen sent her away. Non-Title-Match: Paul Canyon defeated Brujah by disqualification in 0:14:16. Rating: * 1/4 ---Notes: Unable to really get a steady offense on Paul Canyon, Brujah was overcome by frustration and nailed Paul Canyon with the VCW Television Title for the disqualification. After the match, he continued to beat on Paul Canyon until Jennie came to the ring and threw herself over Paul Canyon to shield him from further attacks. Lars Coverdale and Ken Collins defeated Chris Champlain and David Wright Hubbard when K. Collins pinned C. Champlain with the Flying Dropkick in 0:17:25. Rating: *** 1/4 ---Notes: Hot, high-quality match with all four men hitting nice spots and wrestling a good match. After the match, David Wright Hubbard went berserk and assaulted Lars Coverdale, laying him out in the ring with a power bomb. Hell's Bikers (Butch Manson and Jack Norman) defeated The Tough Customers when J. Norman defeated B. Rogers by countout in 0:15:03. Rating: -* 3/4 (The Tough Customers retained the VCW World Tag Team Titles.) ---Notes: A boring Hell's Bikers brawl at its worst, as all four men basically brawled uninspiredly. In the end, Bass Rogers went wild and started demolishing his opponents, but Crimson came to the ring and Chokeslammed him on the outside in the midst of the chaos, and he was unable to get up before the countout. Four Corners Match: Crimson defeated Lance Errington, The Grave Digger and Troy Black: x double countout (Digger and L. Errington) in 0:17:24 x Crimson beat T. Black via the Chokeslam in 0:19:51 Rating: * 1/4 (Crimson retained the VCW World Title.) ---Notes: A lot of this match was Black and Errington bumping around for the two big men. The Grave Digger and Lance Errington were counted out when Lance Errington put the Digger in a Scorpion Deathlock on the outside of the ring and refused to release it. Minutes later, Troy Black seemed on the verge of defeating Crimson when Gabriel Black came to the ring after a ref bump and shoved him off of the turnbuckle during a Black Dagger attempt, then leapt off after him with a Destiny Hammer. Troy Black somehow pulled himself to his feet, but walked right into a Crimson Chokeslam, and Crimson covered to retain.
