Results of VCW 08/15/02: The Wrecking Crew defeated The New Immortals when Uldwall pinned M. Lazzario with the Breakdown in 0:07:37. Rating: * 1/4 ---Notes: Another comedy match, about par for the course for these four. The Tough Customers defeated Dave Adams and Monty Pompous when B. Rogers pinned Doctor Dave after a power bomb in 0:05:14. Rating: -* (The Tough Customers retained the VCW World Tag Team Titles.) ---Notes: This was a low-quality squash match, though Michaels and Rogers gave Monty Pompous a fair share of offense. Christina Ellis, Johnny Smiles and The Pink Kitten defeated Brian Rivera, Komachi and Virginia when J. Smiles pinned B. Rivera with the Smiledriver in 0:13:22. Rating: * ---Notes: As with their last match, this was a lot of brawling, with everyone's key spots thrown in at the right places. Elimination Match: The Hammer of the Gods (Jacob Idol and Julian Page) and Brujah beat The Technicians (Owen Addison, Paul Canyon and Tim Bell) 3 falls to 2: x Brujah beat T. Bell via the Power Bomb in 0:15:45 x O. Addison beat Idol via the Tombstone in 0:18:08 x P. Canyon beat Brujah via disqualification in 0:20:20 x J. Page beat P. Canyon via pinfall in 0:20:32 x J. Page beat O. Addison via the Swan Song in 0:24:18 Survivors: Julian Page Rating: ** 3/4 ---Notes: The crowd was excited when the Ontario Colour Show was left alone against their opponents, and though Paul Canyon tried to integrate some of their old teamwork tactics, Owen Addison was visibly uncomfortable. Brujah laid out Paul Canyon with his VCW Television Title belt, earning himself a disqualification, but making Paul Canyon easy pickings when Julian Page covered (and Owen got huge heel heat for not even attempting a save). Julian Page finally won by slipping out behind Owen on a Tombstone attempt, then low-blowing him and hitting the Swan Song. Lars Coverdale defeated David Wright Hubbard by disqualification in 0:10:31. Rating: * 1/2 ---Notes: One would really have expected better from these two. David Wright Hubbard appeared to be taking it easy on his knee in this match and not doing much that required great effort, and Lars was spottier and flakier than usual here. Lars Coverdale finally won when Michelle Hubbard threw her husband a chair, with which he destroyed Lars Coverdale. Ladder Match: Ken Collins defeated Chris Champlain in 0:17:25. Rating: *** 1/2 (Ken Collins retained the VCW Intercontinental Title.) ---Notes: Courtesy of both men, there were a lot of dramatic high spots, bumps, and hardcore violence. Finally, a bloody, battered Ken Collins managed to climb to the top of the ladder and retain. Hell's Bikers (Butch Manson and Jack Norman) defeated Russel Taylor and Tommy Hustle when B. Manson pinned Hustle with the Flying Legdrop in 0:08:56. Rating: * 1/4 ---Notes: This was basically a squash for Hell's Bikers, though it was a better match than expected given who was involved. Russel Taylor put up a valiant fight going down. Rebecca Black made Nurse Vivacia submit to a figure-four leglock in 0:02:24. Rating: -* ---Notes: Rebecca Black's brawling and Nurse Vivacia's general ineptitude did not combine to make a good match in this squash. After the match, Rebecca Black actually got a face pop by ripping off Nurse Vivacia's singlet to reveal nothing but a white G-string and electrical tape over her nipples, then flashing her own bra to the crowd. Four Corners Match: The Grave Digger drew Crimson, Lance Errington and Troy Black: x T. Black beat Crimson via disqualification in 0:23:36 x Digger beat L. Errington via the Burial in 0:28:30 x time limit expired (Digger and T. Black) in 0:30:00 Rating: * 1/4 (Crimson retained the VCW World Title.) ---Notes: The crowd went totally NUTS when Crimson hit Troy Black with a shovel for the disqualification, and the ring announcer stated that the match would continue until one of the remaining three men won the title. Digger disposed of Lance Errington late in the game, but then fell victim to a few Troy Black cheap shots, followed by the double arm DDT and THREE Black Daggers. When he covered, though, Gabriel Black ran down and distracted the referee. The ref finally turned to make the three count... but only got to two before time ran out. The crowd, eager to see a title change, booed and threw trash when it was announced that Crimson had retained the title due to the time limit draw. Crimson came out and cut a promo saying nobody in this match had really beaten him, and he was still the champion, but then Bass Rogers ran to the ring and assaulted him with a steel chair to a huge pop from the crowd.
