Results of VCW 09/06/01: Pauline Vietjohn pinned Mary Cohen with the Leap of Faith in 0:04:16. Rating: * 1/4 --Notes: More of the same from these two, though as time goes by it seems to be less likely that Mary Cohen will be a permanent part of VCW, due to the lack of crowd response to her. This was a solid, if unremarkable performance from both women, and once again the aerial expertise of Pauline Vietjohn was the key to her victory. Jockey Oldcastle and Monty Pompous defeated Brian Rivera and Tom Guycot when Monty pinned B. Rivera with the Swashbuckler in 0:07:55. Rating: 1/4* --Notes: Jockey Oldcastle is showing good chemistry with Monty Pompous, even if his in-ring skills leave a bit to be desired. This match was more of the same from these four, and as usual, Monty Pompous gets the victory over his rival, Brian Rivera. Four Corners Match: The Ontario Color Show defeated The Wrecking Crew, The New Immortals, Hell's Bikers (Butch Manson and Jack Norman) and The Hammer of the Gods (Jacob Idol and Julian Page): x O. Addison beat Idol via the Tombstone in 0:12:12 x J. Norman beat Blade via the Chokeslam in 0:18:03 x J. Norman beat B. Danson via the Chokeslam in 0:22:35 x P. Canyon beat B. Manson via the Magic Carpet Ride in 0:28:29 Rating: * 3/4 --Notes: The crowd was excited to see Owen Addison defeat Jacob Idol early on, but dead to the rest of the match, which seemed a little bit flat without the intense rivalry between the Ontario Colour Show and the Hammer of the Gods. Hell's Bikers and the Wrecking Crew continue to wrestle somewhat aimlessly in this match, the New Immortals didn't bring much to the table, and the Ontario Colour Show still may not be back in top form. Chris Champlain, Dave Adams and David Wright Hubbard defeated Lars Coverdale, Russel Taylor and Tommy Hustle when C. Champlain pinned Hustle with the Split-Legged Moonsault in 0:13:06. Rating: * 3/4 --Notes: Chris Champlain took a backseat role in this match again, still not fully recovered after his violent match at Survival of the Fittest. However, he was the man who picked up the victory for his team in the end. His rivalry with Russel Taylor, and Lars Coverdale's feud with David Wright Hubbard, showed no signs of cooling in this intensely-fought battle. Troy Black and Brujah and The Tough Customers battled to a double countout in 0:14:10. Rating: 3/4* (The Tough Customers retained the VCW World Tag Team Titles.) --Notes: These two teams faced off again, and Darren Michaels continued to compete among these much more experienced competitors without seeming like a weak link. Brujah and Bass Rogers assailed each other with their usual stiff, powerful offense, and Darren Michaels's power and athleticism proved a surprisingly even match for anything his opponents could throw at him. Once again, Brujah was the workhorse for his team, as Troy Black spent a lot of time on the apron. In the end, the match spilled out of the ring, and all four men brawled on the outside until they were counted out. Lance Errington and Gabriel Black defeated The Grave Digger and Ken Collins when G. Black pinned K. Collins after a fisherman suplex in 0:16:12. Rating: ** 3/4 --Notes: The VCW Television Champion pinned the VCW Intercontinental Champion in this close tag team match, while the Grave Digger and Lance Errington brawled on the outside. Gabriel Black and Ken Collins pushed each other to the limit with their wrestling prowess, and Lance Errington's cunning and brawling ability may have helped him to hold his own with the overwhelming power of the Grave Digger. Gabriel Black and Lance Errington celebrated a bit too long after the match, however, and were chased out of the ring by their vengeful opponents. After that, the Grave Digger got his hands on Derek Cole and gave him a chokeslam and the Burial, which got a loud response of cheers from the crowd. Crimson and Virginia defeated The Pink Kitten and Johnny Smiles when Crimson pinned J. Smiles with the Chokeslam in 0:10:02. Rating: 1/4* --Notes: More of the same here, as an apparently-unmotivated Crimson teams with Virginia to stomp Johnny Smiles and The Pink Kitten, in a match whose outcome was fairly predictable to some fans. If VCW management is looking ahead to a Crimson vs. Johnny Smiles match at Wrestlewar, these matches don't look very promising in terms of delivering an epic battle.
