Results of VCW 09/26/01: Dave Adams pinned Tom Guycot with the Doctor's Orders in 0:04:57. Rating: 3/4* --Notes: This match, as with their previous meetings, was mostly a brawl with general goofinessthrown in by Tom Guycot. That cost him the victory this time, as he pulled Nurse Vivacia into the ring and executed an airplane spin on her, only to make himself too dizzy and stagger into the Doctor's Orders. Tommy Hustle pinned Brian Rivera after a flying somersault headbutt in 0:06:38. Rating: * 1/4 --Notes: This match started out oddly when Tommy Hustle missed a dropkick by about eight inches and Brian Rivera went down from it anyway, but then the action picked up. Brian Rivera did his usual silly stuff, but missed the flying legdrop, and Tommy Hustle took the advantage back, stopping Brian Rivera's last minute attempt at a Bitch Slap by squirming out and hitting a release German suplex, which he followed with a flying somersault headbutt for the pin. Dean Sanders made Mr. X submit to the Figure-Four Leglock in 0:07:48. Rating: * 1/2 --Notes: Mr. X made a good showing of it here, with blistering chops and punches, and some bone-jarring snap suplexes, but Dean Sanders survived and took apart his leg, disabling his offense and setting him up for a loss to the Figure-Four Leglock. Triangle Match: The Knights of the Squared Circle defeated The Wrecking Crew and The New Immortals when Oldcastle pinned M. Lazzario with the Big Splash in 0:17:46. Rating: 1/2* --Notes: Somehow, these three teams found a rhythm of working against each other that prevented this match from being the embarrassment that their previous meetings were. Jockey Oldcastle was relatively inactive in this match except for the finish, which helped, and Monty Pompous is finally getting with the program of the Wrecking Crew's and New Immortals' alternating comedy and good teamwork wrestling. Pauline Vietjohn pinned Mary Cohen with the Leap of Faith in 0:05:53. Rating: DUD --Notes: Pauline Vietjohn missed her twisting moonsault dropkick again in this match, disappointing the audience, but Mary Cohen wasn't able to capitalize and lost anyway. This was otherwise a fairly typical match for these two. Lars Coverdale and Russel Taylor defeated Julian Page and Chris Champlain when Coverdale pinned J. Page with the Frog Splash in 0:13:07. Rating: 3/4* --Notes: Julian Page didn't have much motivation or reason for being here, and Chris Champlain, perhaps sore from regularly enduring bad bumps, was taking it easy today. Lars Coverdale and Russel Taylor approached the match with their typical upbeat enthusiasm and managed to fight their way to the victory this time. Triangle Match: The Ontario Colour Show defeated The Tough Customers and The Hammer of the Gods (Jacob Idol and Rob Solomon) when O. Addison pinned Idol with the Tombstone in 0:17:30. Rating: ** 1/4 --Notes: This match was more of the same for these three teams. The Ontario Colour Show remains successful, but not as spectacular as they typically are. Gabriel Black and Lance Errington defeated The Grave Digger and Johnny Smiles when G. Black pinned J. Smiles after a fisherman suplex in 0:18:07. Rating: * 3/4 --Notes: As he did last night, the Grave Digger came out in a neckbrace to interrupt a promo and challenge Gabriel Black and Lance Errington with Johnny Smiles as his partner. And, just like last night, Gabriel Black and Lance Errington worked over the Digger's neck until he rallied and tagged in Johnny, who couldn't hold his own against Gabriel Black after Lance Errington took out the Grave Digger with a pipe wrench behind the referee's back. Hell's Bikers (Butch Manson, Crimson and Jack Norman) defeated Troy Black, Ken Collins and Brujah when Crimson pinned Brujah with the Chokeslam in 0:21:03. Rating: * 1/2 --Notes: Again, Troy Black's involvement in this match was minimal. Despite the skill of Ken Collins, and the aggression of Brujah, the size, power, and meanness of Hell's Bikers brought them through and allowed them to gain the victory. It doesn't hurt that Crimson's showing a bit more fire here than he did in his recent singles matches with Brujah.
