Results of VCW 10/03/01: Tom Guycot pinned Tommy Hustle with the Skullicide in 0:05:29. Rating: ** 1/4 --Notes: Another fast-paced meeting between Tom Guycot and Tommy Hustle, this one much shorter than their last encounter. Once again, Tom Guycot picks up the victory with the Skullicide after both men trade off their usual kind of offense. Christina Ellis and The Pink Kitten defeated Nurse Vivacia and Mary Cohen when Kitten pinned Vivacia with the Flying Dropkick in 0:03:37. Rating: 3/4* --Notes: Nurse Vivacia still can't compete on the same level as two women who've been near the top of SJW for the past month, and it's made clear in this match. Mary Cohen held her own for a whole, but couldn't compensate for the far superior skills of the opposing team. The New Immortals defeated Brian Rivera and Marylin Silvera when Danson pinned B. Rivera with the Minnesota Jam in 0:07:01. Rating: ** 1/4 --Notes: Once again, these four men meet in a match that breaks down into comedy quickly. This time, when the action picked up in the last few minutes of the contest, the teamwork of the New Immortals and the power of "Beautiful" Bobby Danson brought them the victory. The Wrecking Crew and Dean Sanders defeated The Knights of the Squared Circle and Dave Adams when D. Sanders pinned Doctor Dave after a flying elbowdrop in 0:08:57. Rating: ** --Notes: Dean Sanders still has it in for Dave Adams, and he beat the hell out of him in this match whenever he got the chance. Jockey Oldcastle never even got in the ring; he was on the apron during the whole match, which contributed greatly to the level of action involved. Hell's Bikers (Butch Manson and Jack Norman) defeated The Tough Customers when J. Norman pinned B. Rogers with the Chokeslam in 0:09:22. Rating: ** 1/4 --Notes: This time, Hell's Bikers defeated the Tough Customers, in what looks like a bit of an upset to those who've followed this feud for a while. Butch Manson continues to put forth a lot of effort in this match, and this time he and Jack Norman were able to out- brawl the Tough Customers. After putting away Bass Rogers, Jack Norman celebrated by grabbing Three Musketeers candy bars out of a cooler at ringside and eating them. The Hammer of the Gods (Jacob Idol, Julian Page and Rob Solomon) defeated The Ontario Colour Show and Johnny Smiles when R. Solomon pinned P. Canyon with the Katana Legdrop in 0:14:49. Rating: ** 1/2 --Notes: The Hammer of the Gods went into this match united and focused, and the Ontario Colour Show and Johnny Smiles didn't gel very well tonight. Owen Addison and Paul Canyon got into an argument after the Hammer of the Gods defeated them in this match, but they were quick to put aside their differences when the Hammer of the Gods tried to attack Johnny Smiles on the outside after the match, and they came to his aid. David Wright Hubbard pinned Lars Coverdale after a lariat in 0:10:05. Rating: *** --Notes: Lars Coverdale lasts nearly twice as long as he did in his last match with David Wright Hubbard, and he fared a good deal better overall, but in the end David Wright Hubbard was still too big, strong, and violent for Lars to overcome. Lars Coverdale took some impressive bumps and hit some nice moves, but David Wright Hubbard's size and dominance can't be easily overcome. Virginia and Komachi defeated Stacey Lockman and Pauline Vietjohn when Virginia pinned Pauline after a choke slam in 0:04:18. Rating: * (Virginia and Komachi retained the SJW World Tag Team Titles.) --Notes: Stacey and Pauline took a nasty beating from the champions tonight. They're not in the same league as Virginia and Komachi, and this match clearly showed that. Non-Title Match: Gabriel Black pinned Brujah after a Destiny Hammer in 0:11:08. Rating: ** 3/4 --Notes: Gabriel Black's athleticism and skill is still more than a match for Brujah's rage and energy, and he defeated him yet again in this match. Gabriel has pretty well returned to form after his long absence, and very few people can compete on his level. Ken Collins pinned Lance Errington after a top-rope German Suplex in 0:19:46. Rating: **** 1/4 (Ken Collins retained the VCW Intercontinental Title.) --Notes: Ken Collins defeated Lance Errington in this epic match, where both men wrestled extremely well. Lance Errington nearly had the title won on several occasions, brawling and using a slight power advantage to take the edge, but Ken Collins's determination and flawless wrestling ability enabled him to hang on when all seemed lost and thwart Lance Errington's attempts to finish him off. Lance Errington worked over Ken Collins's legs to foil the Flying Dropkick and managed to stay out of the California Crossface, but after coming back and wearing him down Ken Collins was able to stun him long enough to finish him with an amazing top-rope German Suplex. Crimson and Chris Champlain defeated Russel Taylor and Troy Black when Crimson pinned Russel the Muscle with the Chokeslam in 0:12:16. Rating: * 3/4 --Notes: Chris Champlain and Russel "The Muscle" Taylor were eager to take each other apart, but their partners weren't so keen on getting involved in the action. Troy Black made a few token appearances in the match, but wasn't a major factor, and Crimson showed nothing but contempt for his opponents and wrestled at a slow, lazy pace.
