Results of VCW 10/06/01: Stacey Lockman and Pauline Vietjohn defeated Kyoko Fujita and Mary Cohen when Stacey made Cohen submit to the Figure-Four Leglock in 0:06:04. Rating: * 1/2 --Note: The first of many SJPW and SJW guests appeared on this show in this match, when SJW rookie Kyoko Fujita joined Mary Cohen for this match against Stacey Lockman and Pauline Vietjohn. Stacey and Pauline made an odd, but effective team, with Pauline using a lot of athletic aerial moves, and Stacey using all of her father's signature moves, including the Figure-Four Leglock that won this match. Giant Nakadan pinned Julian Page with the Power Bomb in 0:04:45. Rating: 1/2* --Notes: Julian Page made a futile attempt to overcome hulking SJPW competitor Giant Nakadan in this match, but his tricks and attempts to bring the giant down by working over his leg met with no success. Giant Nakadan manhandled Julian Page, who bumped wildly for his offense, then flattened him with a power bomb in under five minutes. Brian Rivera and Marylin Silvera defeated The New Immortals when M. Silvera pinned M. Lazzario after a piledriver in 0:06:55. Rating: ** 1/4 --Notes: In another meeting in their series of comedic bouts, this time Brian Rivera and Marylin Silvera won another round with Marylin Silvera's piledriver on Moy Lazzario. This was still a comedy match with a few exciting bits in it. Mr. X pinned Tommy Hustle after a top-rope power bomb in 0:05:27. Rating: 3/4* --Notes: The masked Mr. X wrestled again on this show, but he seemed rather slow and uncertain in this match. All of his offense was stiff, and usually it sent Tommy Hustle bouncing across the ring, but Mr. X didn't show much speed or athleticism here. Still, sheer viciousness and aggression brought him the victory tonight. Christina Ellis, The Pink Kitten and Tara Shimura defeated Sadako Momotani, Conquest Aizawa and Kiyo Suzambo when Christina pinned Suzambo with the Dragon Suplex in 0:12:22. Rating: *** 1/2 --Notes: Faced with the nefarious trio of Sadako Momotani, Conquest Aizawa, and Kiyo Suzambo from SJW, Christina Ellis and the Pink Kitten teamed with SJW competitor Tara Shimura and gave them a better fight than many would've expected for a couple of rookies, then actually went on to win the match. Though it was Kiyo Suzambo, the weak link of her team, who took the fall, rather than world-class competitors Conquest Aizawa or Sadako Momotani, it remains a very impressive victory for Christina Ellis and the Pink Kitten. The Wrecking Crew, Russel Taylor and Tom Guycot defeated The Knights of the Squared Circle, Chris Champlain and Dave Adams when Uldwall pinned Doctor Dave after the Breakdown in 0:10:48. Rating: * 1/2 --Notes: This match was more or less a straightforward brawl between these two teams. Dave Adams's slow-paced style occasionally slowed the match down some, and Jockey Oldcastle slowed it down a lot whenever he was in the ring, but for the most part it was a lively, intense brawl between the other men. The Wrecking Crew picked up the victory in the end by flattening Dave Adams with the Breakdown. The Ontario Colour Show defeated The Hammer of the Gods (Jacob Idol and Rob Solomon) when O. Addison pinned Idol with the Tombstone in 0:14:10. Rating: **** 1/4 --Notes: Much like yesterday's encounter, this was another great match with all four parts of VCW's most legendary tag team rivalry at the top of their game. This time, Owen Addison took the victory with a Tombstone, defeating his long-time nemesis Jacob Idol. With both of these two teams competing in full-time tag team competition again, their rivalry can only be expected to grow hotter, especially with close, hard-fought matches like this one. Lars Coverdale pinned David Wright Hubbard with the Frog Splash in 0:18:17. Rating: **** 1/2 --Notes: Once again, Lars Coverdale and David Wright Hubbard stole the show with a wild, all-out brawl where both men pushed themselves to the limit. Both of them performed better than they have perhaps ever in their careers, and this time Lars Coverdale's quickness and tenacity paid off. Somehow, he managed to hang in there for a long time against a man who may have the most devestating offense in VCW, narrowly avoiding each killing blow that David Wright Hubbard threw at him, and finally taking him down after a grueling battle. David Wright Hubbard's knee seemed to be bothering him after this match, and it has to be questioned how many matches like this he has in him, but tonight both competitors were at the top of their game. Jiro Tobikuma pinned Brujah with the Fisherman Buster in 0:08:35. Rating: *** --Notes: Former VCW Intercontinental and VCW Television Champion Jiro Tobikuma went one-on-one with Brujah, another great former VCW Television Champion, in this match. Jiro and Brujah both clobbered each other with a few stiff lariats, as if each man was trying to show that his lariat is stronger. Brujah proved to be Jiro Tobikuma's equal in terms of tenacity and strength, but Jiro had a sharp edge in terms of wrestling ability and talent, and that brought him the victory. Virginia and Komachi defeated Satomi Suzuki and Mayuko Egami when Virginia pinned Egami with the Virgin Sacrifice in 0:16:13. Rating: ** 1/2 (Virginia and Komachi retained the SJW World Tag Team Titles.) --Notes: Virginia and Komachi defeated the former SJW World Tag Team Champions, Satomi Suzuki and Mayuko Egami, once again to maintain their iron grip on the titles. For the past month, they have been defending the titles nearly on a daily basis, and destroying everybody who sets foot in the ring with them. Some of those victories come at the expense of opponents who are clearly not championship material, but this was a decisive victory over two world-class athletes. Gabriel Black and Lance Errington defeated Ken Collins and Johnny Smiles when G. Black pinned J. Smiles after a fisherman suplex in 0:12:42. Rating: *** 1/4 --Notes: The team of Gabriel Black and Lance Errington defeated Ken Collins and Johnny Smiles again tonight. Ken Collins put on a technical clinic against both Gabriel Black and Lance Errington, and Johnny Smiles gave it his best effort, but that wasn't enough to stand up to the sadistic wrestling and brawling of Lance Errington, and the flawless wrestling and in-ring tactics of Gabriel Black, who defeated Johnny Smiles tonight with the fisherman suplex. Stiff Competition and Darren Michaels defeated Omega Titan, Horatio Diamond and Shunsuke Kaminaga when B. Rogers pinned Kaminaga with the Moonsault in 0:23:02. Rating: * 1/2 --Notes: This wasn't the most gripping match on the card; basically, it consisted of six tough brawlers pounding on each other for over twenty minutes until something gave way. What gave way was Shunsuke Kaminaga, the only member of his team who isn't well over six and a half feet tall, but he didn't go down easy. Bass Rogers had to dust off the Moonsault to win this match, but it proved to be enough to put the opposition away. Toju Akamatsu, Hikosaburo Miyamoto and Hirotada Matsumoto defeated Hell's Bikers (Butch Manson, Crimson and Jack Norman) when Akamatsu pinned Crimson with the Nodawa in 0:26:28. Rating: *** 1/4 --Notes: Hell's Bikers were slightly outclassed here, against a team consisting of two of the best that Super Japan Pro Wrestling has to offer, with a tough, respectable third partner in Hikosaburo Miyamoto. Their opponents even seemed to be nearly equal to them in power and strength as well. A supreme amount of effort and tenacity from Butch Manson and the size and toughness of Crimson and Jack Norman kept the Bikers in the match for a long time, but their hopes of holding on for a draw were dashed when Toju Akamatsu crushed Crimson with an unexpected barrage of offense, ending in a torture rack into a power bomb for a near fall and a chokeslam that led to the SJPW World Champion pinning the VCW World Champion to end this hard-fought contest.
