Results of VCW 10/21/01: Virginia and Komachi defeated Pauline Vietjohn and Heather Dannon when Virginia pinned Heather with the Virgin Sacrifice in 0:03:54. Rating: ** 1/4 --Notes: This was a one-sided squash, but a somewhat entertaining show in spite of that. Heather Dannon and Pauline Vietjohn got bounced around like basketballs by their larger opponents and took a huge beating. Fortunately, after nearly four minutes, Virginia put Heather Dannon out of her misery and ended the match. Brian Rivera and Marylin Silvera defeated The New Immortals when Rivera pinned Lazzario with the Bitch Slap in 0:07:21. Rating: ** 1/4 --Notes: This was another zany comedy match with some exciting action sprinkled throughout it. Despite some nice teamwork and the presence of Nicole at ringside, the New Immortals were defeated again, this time with Brian Rivera picking up the win. Hasan Gilden and La Princesa Lobo defeated The Green Dragon and Mary Cohen when Princesa pinned Cohen with the Feral Kick in 0:07:04. Rating: * 3/4 --Notes: When Mary Cohen is the most dynamic and exciting wrestler in a match, it's a bad sign. The fans didn't really know who any of these guys were or understand their gimmicks, and the in-ring action wasn't exciting enough to draw them in. Hasan Gilden worked well with La Princesa Lobo and seemed to be slightly less inept than the Green Dragon, giving their team the advantage that led to the victory. The Knights of the Squared Circle defeated The Jolly Rogers when Monty pinned Guycot with the Swashbuckler in 0:05:03. Rating: * --Notes: Once again, Monty Pompous wrestled for two in this match; Jockey Oldcastle's contribution to the match consisted of a forty-second bearhug and absorbing a few punches and elbows from Dave Adams. His size and athleticism still proved more than a match for the Jolly Rogers, and he picked up the victory tonight. Hell's Bikers (Butch Manson and Jack Norman), David Wright Hubbard and Chris Champlain defeated Russel Taylor, Tommy Hustle, Lars Coverdale and Dean Sanders when Norman pinned Hustle with the Chokeslam in 0:10:56. Rating: *** --Notes: David Wright Hubbard, Lars Coverdale, and Chris Champlain were still relatively inactive in this match. Tommy Hustle and Butch Manson both got bumped around the ring and took a beating from big offensive players on the opposing teams, and in the end Tommy Hustle folded under the abuse after Jack Norman ate a Three Musketeers candy bar and went on a wild surge of offense. The Tough Customers defeated The Wrecking Crew when Darren defeated Blade via disqualification in 0:13:42. Rating: ** 1/4 --Notes: This match was a little longer than last time, and the Wrecking Crew showed off a little more of their athletic prowess and wrestling skills this time around. Bass Rogers didn't mind brutally mauling them both, and Darren Michaels's intense power offense proved to be as effective as anything the Wrecking Crew could through at them. In the end, frustrated by their inability to beat down the Tough Customers, the Wrecking Crew took baseball bats and laid them out for the disqualification. Jacob Idol made Paul Canyon submit to an armbar submission in 0:11:15. Rating: *** 1/4 --Notes: This match was a technical wrestling clinic, with a lot of emotion on both sides. Given the history between the Ontario Colour Show and the Hammer of the Gods, this match was very important to both Jacob Idol and Paul Canyon. Jacob Idol's mean-spirited aggression and willingness to bend the rules gave him a slight advantage, and he emerged with the win in this match. Ken Collins pinned Rob Solomon after a top-rope German suplex in 0:13:42. Rating: *** --Notes: Rob Solomon couldn't hope to match technical skills with Ken Collins, so he tried breaking him down with swift kicks and lariats, and working over his midsection with kneelifts and his favorite resthold, the abdominal stretch. His choice of tactics wasn't bad, but his skills weren't up to keeping a decisive advantage over Ken Collins for a long period of time. When Ken Collins went on the offense, Rob Solomon was remarkably tough to put away, kicking out after a power bomb, several German suplexes, and the Flying Dropkick. Ken Collins was able to finally keep him down with a big top-rope German suplex that awed the crowd. Owen Addison defeated Lance Errington by disqualification in 0:17:42. Rating: *** 3/4 (Lance Errington retained the VCW Intercontinental Title.) --Notes: Owen Addison was given this match after his pinfall victory over Lance Errington last night, and he made the most of it. Lance Errington couldn't keep up with Owen Addison in the technical wrestling department, and Owen Addison was too quick-thinking to let the match degenerate into a brawl for long. Though it was a hard-fought struggle, Owen Addison seemed poised to become the new VCW Intercontinental Champion, until Derek Cole tripped him on a Tombstone attempt, provoking a disqualification. Owen Addison went to exact revenge on Derek Cole, but Lance Errington laid him out with the pipe wrench, then assaulted Owen Addison before Paul Canyon came out to run him off. Four Corners Match: Crimson defeated Johnny Smiles, Gabriel Black and Brujah when Crimson pinned Smiles with the Chokeslam in 0:12:37. Rating: *** 1/4 (Crimson retained the VCW World Title.) --Notes: Crimson dominated much of this match, mauling his three opponents, but the sheer presence of four men in the ring made the action a bit faster-paced than most of Crimson's matches. Brujah was anxious to tear into Gabriel Black, Johnny Smiles was willing to fight Gabriel but hesitant to go toe-to-toe with Crimson, and Gabriel Black and Crimson just had it in for everybody in the ring. Brujah's animosity for Gabriel Black even overcame his desire for the title in the end; he was too busy beating on Gabriel Black to either man to put a stop to it when Crimson mangled Johnny Smiles and pinned him to retain the title.
