Results of VCW 11/10/01: Brujah pinned Hasan Gilden with the Swandive Headbutt in 0:03:03. Rating: * 1/2 --Notes: This was more of a mugging than a wrestling match. Hasan Gilden's showboating and self-promotion served absolutely no use against Brujah, who tore into him without hesitation or mercy. La Princesa Lobo, at ringside with Hasan Gilden, could do little more than watch in terror as Brujah disposed of him with ruthless efficiency. The Jolly Rogers defeated The New Immortals when Guycot pinned Lazzario with the Skullicide in 0:07:12. Rating: * 1/2 --Notes: Nicole and Nurse Vivacia erupted into a catfight before this match even started and had to be ejected from ringside. Moy Lazzario and Tom Guycot seemed to be trying to one-up each other in terms of using strange and ecclectic offensive moves; if that was the case, Guycot won, but it was close. In any case, Guycot also won a close wrestling match, putting Moy Lazzario away after several minutes of action. Mary Cohen, Melissa DelArmeggio and Sadako Momotani defeated Sophie, Stacey Lockman and La Princesa Lobo when Melissa pinned Princesa after a power bomb in 0:07:15. Rating: 1/2* --Notes: Melissa's strength and Sadako Momotani's viciousness and experience kept this contest relatively one-sided. Though Mary Cohen offered a chink in her team's armor, the inexperienced combination of Sophie, Stacey Lockman, and La Princesa Lobo weren't very capable of exploiting it. After some token resistance, the underdogs lost this match when La Princesa Lobo folded under the onslaught of Melissa DelArmeggio and Sadako Momotani. The Tough Customers and Dean Sanders defeated The Knights of the Squared Circle and The Green Dragon when B. Rogers pinned Green Dragon after a choke slam in 0:06:06. Rating: 3/4* --Notes: Aside from a brief big man showdown between Jockey Oldcastle and Bass Rogers, the superior athletes from these two units dominated the action. The Knights of the Squared Circle held their own admirably against the Tough Customers and Dean Sanders. Then Bass Rogers got his hands on the Green Dragon, and it was all academic from there. Non-Title Match: Gabriel Black pinned Tommy Hustle after a fisherman suplex in 0:03:04. Rating: *** --Notes: Gabriel Black made a showing of demonstrating just how outclassed Tommy Hustle was in this match, outwrestling and outmaneuvering him at every chance. Tommy Hustle managed a brief comeback and took Gabriel Black down a few times, but was caught with the fisherman suplex and pinned shortly. The Wrecking Crew defeated Brian Rivera and Marylin Silvera when Blade defeated Rivera by disqualification in 0:09:36. Rating: ** 1/4 --Notes: The Wrecking Crew were given a surprisingly even fight by veteran tag team wrestler Brian Rivera and Marylin Silvera. Even so, their power and speed gained the upper hand as the match went on. A hot tag to Brian Rivera brought his team a moment of hope, but Blade ended his hot streak with a stunning leg lariat, and the Wrecking Crew returned to dominance. They seemed to be on their way to finishing Brian Rivera off when the Tough Customers, Bass Rogers and Darren Michaels, came to the ring and attacked them with chairs, causing the disqualification. Christina Ellis and The Pink Kitten defeated Virginia and Komachi when Christina pinned Virginia after a small package in 0:18:29. Rating: *** 3/4 (Christina Ellis and The Pink Kitten retained the SJW World Tag Team Titles.) --Notes: In this stunning rematch, Virginia and Komachi's stunning power gave them a clear advantage, and from the early goings it appeared that the champions were actually the underdogs. At different intervals, they managed to isolate and attack both of their opponents for lengthy stretches. But Ellis and the Pink Kitten were determined to hang on, and when the Pink Kitten managed to stun Komachi and tag Christina Ellis, the increased pace of the match worked to their advantage. Komachi grew frustrated as the match turned against them and sprayed blue mist, but accidentally caught Virginia with it, causing her to stumble blindly into a small package. Jacob Idol and Rob Solomon defeated Johnny Smiles and Ken Collins when Idol pinned Smiles after outside interference in 0:18:51. Rating: *** 3/4 --Notes: Johnny Smiles was the least experienced tag team wrestler in this match, and Jacob Idol and Rob Solomon were able to capitalize on that to great effect after they had weakened Ken Collins. By goading Johnny Smiles into the ring at inopportune times, they gained multiple opportunities to double-team Ken Collins and use illegal tactics behind the referee's back. When Ken Collins finally made the tag, however, Johnny Smiles came in with his usual enthusiasm and vigor. It appeared that that might be enough to carry the day and turn the match around, until Derek Cole took a cheap shot at Stacey Lockman. Ken Collins rushed to attack him, and the referee was too busy trying to restore order to notice as Gabriel Black ran to the ring and hit Johnny Smiles in the head with the VCW Television Title belt. With Johnny Smiles laid out, Jacob Idol crawled over him for the victory. Lance Errington made Lars Coverdale submit to the Scorpion Deathlock in 0:22:57. Rating: **** (Lance Errington retained the VCW Intercontinental Title.) --Notes: Before the match, Lars Coverdale promised to "make things awesome again" for his friends by beating Lance Erringtno for the VCW Intercontinental Title tonight. The resulting match was truly amazing; both men took some hair-raising falls, and Lars Coverdale unleashed several amazing high-risk maneuvers against Lance Errington. But Lance Errington's strength advantage and his persistence in grinding Lars Coverdale down eventually sapped his agility, leaving him prone to Errington's aggressive offense. Lars Coverdale found another burst of strength for a last stretch of great moves, and the crowd's hopes were up as he nearly put Lance Errington away. Unfortunately, Lance Errington managed to avoid the frog splash, then countered an attempted Rocker Dropper into a single-leg takedown, from which he flowed into the Scorpion Deathlock for the victory. The Ontario Colour Show and Russel Taylor defeated Hell's Bikers (Butch Manson, Crimson and Jack Norman) when Addison pinned Manson with the Tombstone in 0:17:26. Rating: *** 1/2 --Notes: Though none of the titles were on the line here, there was a lot at stake. If Hell's Bikers could defeat the Ontario Colour Show, that could be a springboard to a VCW World Tag Team Title shot; likewise, if anybody pinned Crimson, that would give them a strong case for being a top contender for the VCW World Title, or in Russel's case an extra boost of momentum. Amazingly, Russel Taylor was able to mostly cancel out the size and dominance of Crimson, and the Ontario Colour Show proved to be somewhat more capable than the other two Bikers. When Owen Addison pinned Butch Manson, Crimson was busy brawling with Russel Taylor and Jack Norman was distracted as Paul Canyon threw a Three Musketeers candy bar toward the backstage entrance and told him to run and get it.
